This thread is for talking about music. I love music. I play flute in a band (a very small one) and toy around with piano. I love to listen to it too. Who else is in a band or plays an instrument or likes music in general.

I love music! I'm really into musical theatre and I sing and dance alot. I've also recently started to listen to rock and pop music, which I really like too. I toy around with the piano a bit, but I don't officially play an instrument.

I've been playing violin for eight years and piano for five, so music is a pretty big part of my life! I also do theater, so voice lessons and singing and all that.

As for what I listen to, I like Broadway musicals, Lana Del Ray, Big Thief, Sufjan Stevens... among other things.

Sufjan Stevens is great but I can't listen to him unless I'm already sad because his stuff is so depressing. Casimir Pulaski Day and The Only Thing are so heartwrenching.

Casimir Pulaski Day is a work of art. It's so unbelievably heartbreaking (I nearly sobbed the first time I listened to it), and yet the lyrics are so simple and the tune is so cheery. He manages to capture the emotions in just the right words. Man. It's amazing.

I used to play keyboard when I had more spare time. Now I barely even remember how to play...

Anyone who's into instrumental music should check out The Books and Penguin Café Orchestra. "Smells Like Content" and "The Sound of Someone You Love Who's Going Away and it Doesn't Matter" are two of the best songs I've discovered this year.

I've been playing piano for seven years now. I really love it! Some of the songs I've learned are ...."March Slav," "Christmas Time is Here," "America (from West side Story)", and "Malagueña."
