hey guys! We haven't had one of these in a while, and i thought it'd be fun to bring them back! And if you don't know how it works already, basically, the judge(me, for this round) comes up with a theme and a date for them to be due. Then the judge well, judges the drawings and the winner becomes the new judge! And I don't think there are any rules other than nothing inapropriate and stick to the theme, Lmk if there are others!
and without further ado, the first theme is, drum roll please, Journey! Judging will be february 5! I'm super excited to see your pictures!

I am really, really, really sorry if I missed anyone's entry. I did my best to post this as late as I could.
This took me a while to do since everyone is so talented, so without further ado... here are the results! (I've never really done this before, so I hope I do it right...)
Honorable mention: Velvet Serpent, I love the textures you created with the paint in the water and how you left the white of the paper behind for the rock, it really helps the fin of the mermaid stand out.
Honorable mention: NoOneKnows, I love the way you convey distance in your painting and how the sun is setting on the beach rather than the ocean.
Honorable mention: Alex, the shading and lighting on the rock looks really good. I love the way your interpreted the theme as well.
Third place: Doggiegirl2010 (I think your name is now Chickadee), your digital painting of the sunset looks really good. I especially like the way you did the sun, you really captured the light very well.
Second place: Majestic Mary and DoodleGirl, really I couldn't decide between either of your pieces, they both look awsome. DoodleGirl, I love your interpretation of the theme and the way drew the reflection of the ocean in the person's eyes while keeping the integrity of the eyes. The composition is also really well done. Majestic Mary, the way you used contrasting hues of orange and blue make for an amazing piece of art. The sailboat also helps to add interest to the piece.
First place: Quill, your painting of the ocean on the shell is amazing. I love to composition and the textures you used for the clouds and the water, they really make for a great painting.
