More written picturings

More written picturings - but this time by Amethyst! I really like the idea, and I'd like to try some of my own. Hopefully no one will have too long a wait for their picturing...

@Snazzycakes: Yes, I will gladly do your picturing! It might just take a few days... I might not get it done that quickly, but I will be working on it!

@Celeste: Sorry it's taken a while! Here it is at last - I hope you enjoy it :)

CelesteOfTheGoldMoon:

Celeste sighed. It was a lonely life, sometimes, waiting for the sun and moon to come home to her, watching and guiding them on their endless journeys, all day and all night. But she wouldn't have traded it for anything. It was fulfilling, it was what she wanted - to watch the sun and moon rise to the heights of the skies and fall home to her in the soft dusky twilights. She sat down on a mountain of clouds, half-lost in memories, her sky-blue eyes fixed on the sun without really seeing it. She remembered the wild green-washed springs her immortal eyes had seen, and the rippling, fern-edged pools of summer, and the fiery splendour of autumn, and the cool moonbeams in winter. She thought of the few wonderful days of Eclipses, when she dropped a black veil between the sky and the earth and watched the sun and moon mingle for a few magical moments. She smiled when she thought of the explanation humans had made up for them; and she smiled a little too when she thought of the times she had wandered in the Fields of the Sun or the Meadows of the Moon with the few friends she had in her strange life.

Celeste was very beautiful, with soft fair hair falling in a sheen of gold to her slim waist. Her gaze was distant, her eyes were shifting turquoise with sparks of dancing gold and silver in them. Her head tilted back slightly, her arms wrapped around her knees as she sat there on the cloud-mountain, she looked like what she was: the guardian of the sun and moon, who guided them on their journeys and whose power was the power of the skies.

Snazzycakes:

Away from the old mansion stretched the palace gardens, away and away until they touched the delicate blue sky, lost and tangled in mazes of weeping willows and hedges and paths and streams. But the peacock walking across one of the long lawns, its silky plumage capturing the glorious blue of the sky overhead, knew every inch of it. Since this royal bird had been captured from the wild and brought to the royal gardens of the Italian palace, it had grown in wisdom - and now wisdom shone in the dark, knowing eyes. Those eyes had watched the garden changing with the seasons, during days the peacock could remember and days it could not; in that time it had learned more than the humans who wandered the far-flung gardens.

Anyone so much as glancing at the peacock was struck by its dazzling colors. A ruler among the birds, this peacock was even more spectacular than most, with a tail shot with finest threads of gold and a proud curve to its graceful neck. Young, but seeming as if a thousand years were hidden under the youth; a ruler, but not looking down upon its subjects; gloriously beautiful, but not overpowering - this was the Peacock of the Royal Gardens.

Oh dear, it turned out very short, didn't it? Well, I hope you like it anyway! :)
