Is anyone out

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Is anyone out

Is anyone out there writing a book? If you are put a summary here so we can all read it! I'm kinda curious about this because I'm writing one and want to know if anyone else is.

Summary: Annabelle Hart was completely and utterly normal, in the most boring way possible. She hates her life, no matter how perfect it is. But she soon meets a man who makes an offer she can't refuse, and offer that will change her life. She accepts his offer, but is forced to fake her death and leave behind everyone; her family, her friends, her potential boyfriend for the life of the mans perfect weapon. A weapon aimed to kill.

How does that sound?

Don't forget to post summaries of your books!

That gives me an idea, Admins, do you ever write books? If you do, would you mind putting up a summary?

Yours sounds pretty awesome, Sam! Post it on Inkwell soon, kay? ;)

I'm currently tackling the beast that is NaNovel 2011. Right now I'm in the "patching up" part aka deciding which scenes are in which chapter (this is made easy thanks to Scrivener), checking historical references even though it is in a made-up world, and just adding a few scenes here and there.

The summary is from my NaNo profile. It's a bit different than from what's there right now, but that's okay. :p

It's called the Masquerade of 1000 Days but I might change it to The Masquerade of --townnamehere--.

In a small town called Brimstone in Arella country, Emilia Halladay lives with her older sister Madeleine. The two are of the upper-class and don’t have any servants or inheritance of any sort, other than the Halladay Manor, so they plan to spend their lives applying for jobs, selling the Manor, and finding tall, dark, handsome strangers to court and nice, young men to marry- not necessarily in that order. Also they, especially level-headed, bookish Emilia- certainly don’t expect to get involved in a rebellion.

But when the Grand Sir goes too far- ordering a mass genocide of an entire country by fire- unrest is stirred and the small handful of people who don’t fear the dictator form a resistance. But anyone could be a spy; anyone could give names. So the resistance forms a rule: You hide your identity, they hide theirs, no one dies.
The resistance, small but aggressive, soon becomes known as the Masked Resistance.
So when Emilia, who has always tried to stay out of politics (murder is politics when a government is involved) is given an offer to join the Masked, she’s initially sceptic. But scepticism soon turns into curiosity and curiosity soon turns into involvement and pretty soon, quiet Emilia Halladay finds herself in the middle of a rebellion and enough secrets to make a person go barmy.
And while not hearing things best left unheard, especially secrets about Madeleine, or getting herself nearly killed, Emilia also finds herself falling in love with the entirely wrong man.

Yeah...

Both of your books sound really awesome! I totally wish I could read them.

Six sixth-graders: Tiffany, Syrra, Sylvia, Sirius, Kyle, and Ash, are more than ready to go onto the trip of a lifetime. Five days living in the wild, away from parents, Chuck E. Cheese, and younger brothers doing an activity deep in the middle of the woods, for their chaperone to run away and to find six rings that grant them extrordinary powers. As they go deeper deeper into this newly discovered world of magic and adventure, they know that they must protect the rings they found to stop them falling into the wrong hands-- but could those wrong hands be theirs?

Five points to who can guess who Tiffany is based off of and what trip this is supposed to be a remake of.

That sounds awesome! now I really wanna read it! I think I'll post a chapter of my book on Inkwell later. The first chapter's uneventfull but chapters 2 and 3 are fully loaded. ;)

Oh lemme guess Tiffany is based off of you, and the trip's a remake of The Lord of the Rings?

No. This is an original book. The only way it relates to LotR is that it involves rings. It's based off of LBL.  You're right about Tiffany.

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but what's LBL?

No, it's not stupid. LBL is an area in Kentucky that stands for Land Between the Lakes. My whole grade went there in February.

I am really bad at writing summaries so... XP

I am actually writing 2 novels right now. :)

Here's the summary for the first one:

Erisa Douglas wakes up in a scientific laboratory, with no memories of her life before. According to the scientists in the lab, she volunteered to be a subject in an extensive experiment to aid her planet in the war against Earth.

Erisa is now over 75% technology. She has enhanced senses, her speed and strength are three times that of a normal person, she can go long periods without food or water, and if she’s in danger, the microcomputer in her brain can take over her consciousness to avoid her having any qualms about inflicting violence on those who have threatened her. If threatened, she becomes an emotionless fighting machine. Slowly but surely, she gives in to the violent will of the computer inside her.

But when she’s sent to Earth on a kidnapping mission, her target brings out something in her that she thought was buried too far inside her heart for anyone to find it.

Her humanity.

It's kind of a sci-fi gender-reversed version of Beauty & the Beast. :) I'll post the other story summary later.

@Snake:

That idea sounds really, really cool. It sounds like a book I'd want to read.

Annika wakes up in the dungeon of a castle
with no idea who she is or how she got there. When a former friend shows
up to free her, she learns she is the leader of a rebel band seeking to
overthrow the Queen. As Annika's memory slowly returns, she must put
together the pieces of her past to find the truth behind her motivations
and solve the mystery of her own betrayal.

But to don the famed red cloak of her past is harder than she
anticipated. The Queen, a shadowy figure who never leaves the castle, is
always one step behind them. And before she can reach her goal, Annika
must learn to reach out to an ally more powerful than she could have
imagined, and shine a light through the darkness.

I'm writing about three books at the moment. I guess I'll post the outline (it's not really far enough along for a summary) of one of the three. There is no title.

It's set in the future. There's a group of rebellions rebelling or fighting against the ruling people (the so-called Tsureuskans). The main person's name is Fionnuala "Nuala" who I've decided is about 16 to 20 years old. Anyway, in the beginning a mission goes wrong, someone dies... (There's quite a bit of writing about her recovering.) Then she has to go on a new mission to try and become allies with Starka, the only free part of the world, so that the rebellion group can get these really important papers that will help them win the fight against the Tsureuskans, but Tsureuska is pulling Starka over on there side...

It's sort of like an action/agent book. Sorry, the summary is unclear. I'm only on the fifth page. :) Maybe I'll post an excerpt, but I'm really shy about people reading things I wrote outside of RPs and RRs. Only one person except me has read the story.

I'm sure it's great.

Here's an exerpt from my story (thoughts are bolded):

Dylan was right. I'm nothing but a lab rat for a Dr. Frankenstien, she thought angrily. How could she have not seen this before? Frost had made her fake her own death and leave behind everyone she loved. For what? To be his science project? It didn't make sense. Why make a super-powered human being without using it? What was she to Frost? A science project, or something else?

@Elizabeth M.- I'm that way too. No one has read my story yet and I'm on chapter 7. But I still post small stuff on here.

Wow! Awesome stories, guys! I'm going to start a book about a girl who finds a diamond necklace on the seat of her school bus. I will post some of it when I work on it.

Did you get that diamond necklace idea from Gail Carson Levine's Writing Magic? I seem to remember something like that.
