I have a question. What if I go over the limit by like 30 words?

 

The limit is 350 words. Every word counts except the title. Hyphenated words count as one word. Entries that are too long are eliminated. So we suggest you edit your story down to 350 words. We know it's not easy to write a good story in just 350 words, but the limit is the same for everyone.

What about names? Like 

Title

Do the by and the name count? 

 

Not the title, not the byline, but every word, including the names of characters and places, in the story itself.
