Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue

I love this

I love this issue!!  Cats are amazing!!!  I'm so glad they got their own issue!!  "The Catnip Mice" was a cute story, especially since I know how much my cat treasures his toys (but he would never be happy with something that doesn't have catnip in it, like balls...).  I loved the story "Moses the Kitten"!!!! :):):)  I already knew it, because I have the James Herriot book for kids, and my mom is completely obsessed with James Herriot's books (we have about every single one!!).  My favorite James Herriot story (besides "Moses the Kitten", of course!!) is either "The Christmas Day Kitten", or that one about the cow who escapes from the butcher, but I can't remember its name.  James Herriot is my favorite author.  I like the crossbird puzzle, too, but I like the one that I got online better (at least the buggies on the page were even funnier...).  :):)  What did everybuggy else think about the November issue??  IT IS MY FAVORITE EVER!!!!

Well, actually, I'm pretty much done with Eastern Hemisphere Explorer, but we haven't gotten the next one yet. I think we're doing 7 alt. next. I use Teaching Textbooks for math, and I think I saw somewhere that you do Spanish--would that be with Rosetta Stone? That's what I do! We didn't always do a project after the country, but a few weeks ago we did one for Africa and my sister and I cooked an African meal with couscous. It was delicious! Could have used a bit less curry powder, though. Did you ever cook anything like that?

Gasp, gasp......  You, gasp, use, gasp, Rosetta Stone????????????????  I do too!! (or at least when I get around to it..........) Embarassed I find it EXTREMELY boring..... :):) My mommy just bought the French package, too, so I'm sort of doing that, too! What unit are you on?  I can't remember at all, so, in Spanish, I'll say I'm somewhere between Unit 4 or Unit 5. ) My dad is almost onto Level 2!!! :):) In French, I'm only on the first lesson, or so.... Embarassed  Wow!  If you're already in Africa, you are pretty much done!!  I skipped Africa, even though I didn't want to....  I cooked for the 'adventure' almost every chance that I got!  I can't remember what it was (sadly!), but I cooked really yummy Indian meal. :):)  I'm not sure what year I'm doing right now....  Do you know which countries you'll be studying??  This year, we've studied Egypt and places like Greece. (I wish that we could have stayed in Egypt longer...  I don't really like Greece history, no offence to people who do.....)  The first book you read in this year, is Mara, which is an AWESOME book!! :):) I loved it!!! :):) But, sadly, I read some books that I haven't liked as much....  In fact, all of the books that I've read to myself have been boring, much unlike the other years, where I usually read way ahead....  :):):):)  I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!! :):):):)

P.S.   What do you use for math???  You never told me! :):):)

I'm glad that you like Apologia!  The thing is, I've never really taken any sort of science before, and all of a sudden, I have to read and highlight five pages every day.  I get bored with it, but sometimes the experiments are fun!! :):):)  Yeah, Rosetta Stone has taught me a bunch, too!  I can (sort of) carry on a conversation with someone in Spanish.  You take Latin, don't you?  I didn't know that they had Latin!Laughing

Sorry, guys. The thing that said I was twenty-three was part of something else. I'm not really sure how it got here...

Oh, I definitely agree, Rosetta Stone is really boring! Though it has taught me a lot. I'm also on unit 4, but I kind of stopped doing it for a while. I just started again.

BIG EXCITING NEWS!!! We got our next Sonlight order today! Very large, heavy box. Only one thing. My mommy forgot to order the Teacher's Manual, so we can't start as soon as we would like to. Frown

I use a-becka grammer.  This is really funny: I signed up for a writing class this year.  On the first day, the teacher asked everybuggy what grammer program they use.  Another kid & I said a-becka.  The other kids didn't know. ;) We were the only kids in the class who knew how to diagram, write reports & stories, and about everything else.  She sort of split the class up in two.  He and I are "writing buddies" and we grade each other's work, and she gives us more difficult assignments. I'm convinced that it's because of a-becka!! :):)

Mara, Daughter of the Nile is one of the books this year. I would go look and see the titles of more of them, but the books are up in my dad's office where he's currently working.

You seem to have a knack for being on at the same time as people! The only time I've been on with someone was with you! :D:D:D
