Hi Amethyst!

*looks at forms*

Oh, we're both scared of spiders apparently! The big ones frighten me the most. There's just something about them that is really creepy crawly...for some reason I like other insects but not spiders.

And we both like the Chronicles of Narnia and Wonder! Those are all very, very good books. Which is your favorite book in the Narnia series? Mine is the Horse and His Boy. The interesting thing is when I first read Wonder, I didn't like it, but when I read it the second time, I loved it.

What kind of poetry do you like to write? I like to write rhyming poems with rhyme scheme, meter, and consistent syllable length.

Okay, then the Shadow Alliance (good idea to call them that and combine their powers!) can disappear into shadows and communicate telepathically. Perhaps they can also move rocks with telekinesis--although that requires a good amount of energy, so if they use an exceedingly powerful spell at the beginning of the battle, like causing an avalanche, they'll only able to throw pebbles for the rest of the time; therefore they might need to use their magic wisely (and maybe this goes for the other animals as well) By the way, since this is a war, we could avoid charries dying by making it a war to steal/uncover the secrets of each others magic, and not a violent war. The Halite Alliance could summon those things and the Fern Wolves could make trees/plants grow or shrivel up poisonous plants (if there are poisonous plants, that is), supernaturally quickly. I like the idea of them seeing into the future :) Do you think all the animals in the Fern Alliance could see into the future, or just one species/individual (like maybe the leader of the pack was elected for having the talent to see the future, or there are seers who specialize in it)? Yes, basic powers could be being invisible for a short period of time and possibly teleportation, if that was what you meant by “moving quickly from one place to another”. I think for all these powers we could let the CBers decide unique powers for each charrie…like maybe one type of plant-growing magic only applies to vines, another makes a tree bear two kinds of fruit instead of one, etc. That way, no one has the same advantage, but hopefully no charrie is OP?

Yes, actually you thought of the idea of red/arctic foxes first, a page back, so complete credit to you for the fox idea :D  I think foxes can be spies (probably paid by the wolves) and mutual allies. Since Shadow Eagles (and come to think of it, all the other eagles too) could be spies too, (because they can directly and noiselessly communicate information to Shadow Wolves through telepathy) perhaps only the Fern and Halite Wolves use foxes as spies?

Ooh shipping, good idea :) A simpler form for fox/eagles would be helpful (with a short, basic personality, maybe?) because they are more minor characters. Speaking of forms, should we list the age in months (since according to a quick research is 2 wolf years to 14-22 human years, or something like that, so it might be more specific how old the charrie is if the age was in months) and, to make sure every wolf has an eagle that they're linked with and we don’t have wolves without eagles, we could require that each CBer submit a telepathically linked animal with every wolf charrie they make...Probably no limit on charries because it takes a lot of wolves to make a pack, and (probably?) no one’s going to create like, 32 of them XD.

Which pack leader do you prefer to be? I think it would be helpful to have a Shadow Wolf leader, but I don't know who would control them...maybe any CBer with a Shadow Wolf charrie who is consistently posting could? Oh, I like your idea that the Shadow Wolves could go to the mountains (where their eagles are waiting for them, because eagles are more-or-less in the mountains) after the conflict starts, as a hideout, but are living among the others before, scattered about and seemingly unorganized (but they could be communicating with each other by sending telepathic messages through their eagles, and having the eagles talk to each other. Does that make sense?)

I agree that we need to work on the plot. Perhaps the Shadow Wolves and Shadow Eagles start plotting to master the magic forms of the other wolves and eagles and thus control them, the Halite Wolves overhear the eagles talking to each other and realize what they're planning or the Fern Wolves foresee their plan (perhaps we could write prophecies?), the Shadow Wolves find out and go into hiding in the mountains, all while attempting to discover and use the magic of the other wolves, in order to reign over them (we'd have to figure out how they do this...perhaps there is a potion of a rare maybe bioluminescent magical flower in the forest and special halite crystals in the tundra that the wolves and eagles use as the source of their magic, but it's a closely guarded secret...and by the way, the Shadow Eagles could use an onyx or an obsidian stone as their source of magic, in that case). Also, other CBers might have good ideas for the plot and suggest them as the RP goes on. And an idea: since Halite Wolves don’t really have easy access to food where they live, they could trade salt (which is halite) to the Fern Wolves in exchange for vegetables, ferns, mushrooms, nuts, and fruit, which the Fern Wolves would use to season their food?

I'm going to post the list I mentioned in a comment after this, because otherwise this is going to be vErY lOnG. I don't know if there's a word/paragraph limit on CB, but I don't want to find out by reaching it ;)

Thank you <3 Oh yes, math can be fun, almost like solving a puzzle in some ways, and it's so satisfying to find out the correct answer to a problem :) I wouldn't choose it as a career either, especially because it seems to get harder soon, and it's already hard enough lol. My favorite subject is probably science right now, but that might be because I have a lot of ELA electives (to put it simply) that I'm taking, and so maybe that's why I like my regular ELA class less right now.

No worries, I don’t think your comment is long at all! This one and the list (the list is 1034 words…I hope that is okay with you and the admins; if it's not, I'll make it shorter :/  ) are probably very long as well. Sorry if I have far too many unorganized ideas here…maybe the list I’ll post shortly after this will help.

Eek the captcha disappeared for a moment. I thought I was out of screen allowance time lol!

...And also I forgot to add that because I'm at school most of the time and vErY bUsY, I think I'll be less active on the CB than I used to be :( :( I'm afraid that I will go on another hiatus again without warning (because of a mountain of schoolwork), and I really, really don't want to be the cause of our RP disappearing off of the top page :( So, perhaps we could also accept a co-leader if a CBer joining the RP cares to make one, and my charrie could just be held hostage or something temporarily if I go on a hiatus, while the co-leader rules? Just a thought...

I like the idea of moving rocks! I agree, it might be a good idea for some powers to be unrenewable, though perhaps that could be for only the most important powers so there's no danger of the wolves running out of their powers halfway through? Or maybe as long as they're used in moderation, they don't run out. It adds an interesting twist to the powers, though :) Yes, uncovering the secrets of the other wolves would help avoid a violent war, which would be a good thing. (Not having a violent war would be a good thing, not the other way round XD) Those powers sound good! Probably the foxes of the Fern Alliance wouldn't be able to see into the future, since they've just agreed to help out but have no real connection with the wolves; special seers might help (it would also keep the power of seeing into the future from getting too OP). Yes, teleportation or just being able to move extremely quickly - either of those would work :) Individual powers sound wonderful! That would probably have to be added to the form as well.

I thought of the foxes? I suppose I did... I vaguely remember. Oh dear, I don't seem to have a very good memory, lol. Yes, it would probably help to only have foxes in the Halite/Fern Alliances - especially since there are Arctic foxes and red foxes but no other main type of fox to join the Shadow Wolves, except for possibly black foxes?

Personality would be good :) Hmm, I hadn't thought about that, but age in months would probably help. And yes, there should probably be at least one eagle along with every wolf. No limit on charries sounds good - we want as many as we can get :D

I don't really mind... maybe the Halite Wolves' leader? If you want that one, though, go ahead :) And maybe we could ask the creator of a very active Shadow Wolf charrie to take over the Shadow Alliance - maybe that charrie could rise to the head of the Shadow Wolves. Yes, that makes sense! That would probably be the best course of action for the Shadow Wolves, then.

Ooh, all that should be good :) Whee prophecies fun, we should certainly write prophecies!! A flower/halite crystals (maybe just one, though there could be others for decoys in case of danger like this)/onyx or obsidian stone would work. Maybe it could be obsidian - it sounds more like the Shadow Wolves, somehow. Probably we will be getting other ideas from CBers as we go along, but it might be good to have the basic framework of the plot sorted out so that we don't start aimlessly introducing new ideas that don't really fit together. I like the idea of trading! That works itself out very nicely :)

We should probably also be working out what the introductory post is going to include - we seem to have worked out lots and lots of ideas (which is wonderful, but we'll have to organize them somehow...) It would probably have to include a short history (like why the Shadow Wolves turned against the other wolves in the first place), then the different kinds of wolves and the species who live with them (basically foxes/eagles), and the situation they're in right now (Shadow Wolves among the other wolves, but unrecognized). Maybe also some general facts about the wolves (like how they trade), and of course the forms. We also need to figure out how the Alliances will finally decide that they need to work together instead of fighting to control each other.

Oh dear, that would never do ;) I don't think there's a word/paragraph limit, though.

Yes, exactly, it's like solving a puzzle. Good luck with your ELA electives also!

Oh no, I'll miss you :( If needed, we could always have a co-leader, and if no other charrie wants to co-lead I could always make a charrie to do that, or my leader could take over leadership of your alliance until you can come back... It would be tragic if it disappeared off the top page :/

Help, my comments are getting longer and longer. There's one last thing, though - this thread is almost exactly nine months old! *throws eco-friendly confetti* I've enjoyed talking with you so much :)

I'm going to get around to replying or posting the list once my schedule frees up...at my school (I don't know if this happens at other schools too, but I know it happens at mine) there are times when all my teachers assign absolutely nothing and I'm left with nothing to do but study everything I've learned since the beginning of the year, and then suddenly all my teachers will assign homework and projects and tests at the same time, and I'll just be scrambling to complete them all while finding time to study:( (This is why I am concerned about unexpected hiatuses) Once this scramble is over, I'll be working more on the RP, because I'll actually have time.

Speaking of which, I know you have probably seen the Escape Room I posted, and might be wondering how I have time for that but not this thread or my Ski Lodge. The answer is that the Escape Room is easier and quicker to write because 1. There is no story or dialogue. 2. I have the first room planned out already. 3. It is short, and since I work best when I can write something in a single sitting, I can write an Escape Room part very quickly. RPs take two or three times that (time I do not have right now but will have very soon) and a part of my Ski Lodge takes days.

And now I must vanish promptly to finish an assignment due today.

Oh, dear... you'd think teachers, of all people, could organize themselves. Anyway, don't worry if this thread or your ski lodge take a while! Ah, the joy of being able to rattle off writing quickly... your escape room looks interesting, btw! (Also, you already know exactly how long I've taken to catch up on my solo writes... hehe. I really have to advance on them more :| )

Anyway, good luck with your schoolwork! Take as much time as you need to respond here, I can wait :)

Yayyyy it's Spring Break and I can finally post the list !!! I missed you so much :(

We could possibly adapt the list into an organization system, by copying and pasting it into comments, and adding/deleting/rewording things. I’m writing all the unconfirmed ideas/commentary/ideas I’m proposing in italics, but don’t hesitate to delete them if you don’t like them or don’t think they’ll work out in the RP :) All the confirmed ideas are written in non-italic. Note: I might be getting way too excited about tiny details and overcomplicating things here. If you’d like me to think of more simple ideas, I can definitely do that :)

Second note: There are probably mistakes in this, but more-or-less it has everything we agreed on for the RP, + undecided on ideas.

~List~

Magic Ideas:

All animals can turn invisible for a short time and teleporting/moving quickly (are those the same thing??). Important, powerful types of magic have one exceedingly powerful move (to use video game terminology) that can only be used in moderation, to avoid the animal from running out of magical energy.

Packs

Shadow Wolves: Dark fur. They live in both the forest and the tundra, after being exiled to the mountains for causing harm to the other packs, then, when the other packs were under different leadership, allowed to return to the packs. They have good night vision. Their magical abilities are camouflaging into shadows and manipulating rocks and stone with telekinesis. An obsidian pendant they wear at night gives them these powers. Each of them is telepathically linked with a Shadow Eagle and are secretly keeping in touch with their entire pack by thinking messages at their eagle to send to other eagles sitting nearby, who will communicate them to another wolf, and speak the same language as them. They are planning to overthrow the other packs and their animals, by stealing their magic. Their leader is ______(ask active CBer of a shadow wolf charrie)_____.

Fern Wolves: Brown fur. They live in the forest in dens hidden by ferns. The ferns were originally an adaptation to needing to defend their wolf cubs, but the habit stuck, and so the ferns are woven and built with, and the wolves eat ferns, as well as mushrooms, vegetables, fruit, and nuts. They make a potion out of a rare (unnamed) flower that enables them to help plants grow and destroy poisonous plants supernaturally quickly. There are decoys of this flower. They make various potions (mostly ones for recovering strength) from plants they find in the forest. The flower also gives special seers among them an ability to see into the future. Their leader is _Celandine____(Lyric's charrie)______, (with a potential to-be-determined co-leader in case of hiatuses)

Halite Wolves: White fur. They live in the north tundra where it snows, and build structures and sculptures out of halite, which is salt. They also trade salt to the Fern Wolves in exchange for the food mentioned, which is scarce where they live. They can cause snow storms or disappear inside them, with the help of special halite crystals that infuses them with magic. There are decoys of this. Their leader is __insert name______(Amethyst's charrie)___.

Eagles

Shadow Eagles: Dark and white feathered. They live in the mountains, where they receive messages from the Shadow Wolf they are telepathically linked to (link determined by if they were born on the same day), which they convey to other Shadow Eagles, who tell it to their wolves. They have the same magical abilities as the Shadow Wolves.

(I don’t remember if we agreed on Fern and Halite Eagles yet, hence the italics) Fern Eagles: Brown and white feathered. They live in the mountains near the forest and the tundra, and have the same magic sources and methods as the Fern Wolves. They aid Fern Wolves in delivering things around the forest, and are each telepathically linked with a Fern Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) but aren’t aware of it. They act as spies during the war.

Halite Eagles: White feathered. They live amongst the Halite Wolves, use and perform their magic. Each one is telepathically linked with a Halite Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) but isn’t aware of it. They act as spies during the war.

Foxes

Red Foxes: Exactly as the name sounds. They live in the forest and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Fern Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies (if they receive payment) and some of them have the magic abilities of the Fern Wolves and Eagles, depending on whether they use the magical flower or not.

Arctic Foxes: White fur. They live in the north tundra and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Halite Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies (if they receive payment) and some of them have the magic abilities of the Halite Wolves and Eagles, depending on if they use the halite crystals or not.

Black Foxes: I don’t know if the Shadow Wolves need these, because they have the Shadow Eagles already, but maybe they do, to even out the sides?

Plot Ideas:

1. Shadow Wolves plan to discover the other packs’ magic secrets, so they can control them. They communicate with each other by sending telepathic messages from wolf to eagle, then verbally from eagle to another eagle, and telepathically again from that eagle to another wolf. 2. Either the Fern Wolves foresee their plan and the dire consequences, the Halite Wolves hear the Shadow Eagles talking, or both discover the Shadow Wolves’ plan. The Shadow Wolves realize their plan is discovered and go into hiding in the mountains. 3. The Fern Wolves, Halite Wolves, and Shadow Wolves form alliances consisting of wolves, eagles, and a few foxes. They launch an attack on the Shadow Alliance, hoping to scatter them (not hurt them) and cause them to give up their mission of controlling the others. It doesn’t work. 4. ? 5. ? End: Wolves realize they’re better as one pack/are all the same.

Forms (no limit on number of charries):

Name of charrie: Age (in months): Pronouns: Pack: Personality: Appearance: Magic (one speciality of their element, e.g. growing vines): Fears/Insecurities: Assertive, Aggressive, Passive, or Passive-Aggressive: Background: Shipping: Other:

submitted by Lyric, age list, hello!
(March 29, 2024 - 6:17 pm)

Yay I'm so glad to see you again!! I've missed you too :/

The list looks good! Hmm, teleportation/moving quickly should probably be just one thing to make things simpler ("moving quickly" would be, for example, being able to run extremely fast, but we can probably just have teleportation).

Shadow Wolves: All that should work! Probably they cause harm to the packs, are exiled to the mountains, and are either allowed to return or are simply forgotten about over the course of time. I think we'd originally said that the Fern/Halite wolves didn't see them as a separate kind of wolf to begin with, which might be good. Night vision is a good idea :) Maybe for each pack there should be just one source of magic, or it might get a bit confusing? They could also each have a stone/flower/crystal, though.

Fern Wolves/Halite Wolves: Looks good!

Eagles and Foxes: I believe there are Halite and Fern Eagles, but when the RP starts, those two packs might not know about the telepathic connection between them and the Eagles, though they do speak the same language. That could eliminate the necessity of black foxes, since the already-discovered telepathy between Shadow Wolves and Eagles would give them an advantage over the other wolves. Eventually, though, all the wolves should certainly have a telepathic connection with an eagle.

Plot ideas: For discovering the Shadow Wolves' plan, maybe the Fern Wolves can foresee a danger to do with wolves, the Halite Wolves overhear the Shadow Wolves or Eagles talking, and the Fern Wolves realize that this is the danger they've been worried about. We still have to figure out how they all realize that they're fundamentally all just wolves... maybe the Shadow Alliance manages to steal (at least some of) the other Alliances' powers, but the other Alliances steal the Shadow Wolves' powers, so they realize that they'd basically be just like each other if they shared the same powers...? I'm not sure.

Other than that, looks great!! I think I'll call my charrie Moondrop.
