KristjanParticipantI need to get new shoes. I can feel all of the rocks of the road beneath my feet, and I can see my sock through a spot on my toe. Oh well. They will just have to wait until I can get new ones. Which we be when I get a job. After I'm done with what I came for.
Several wagons and transports speed by me. I look up, startled. The road had been mostly empty before, a couple of foot travelers maybe. Nothing like this. Huh. That's weird.
A dull beating sound slowly worms its way into the surrounding area. I stop, tilting my head to try and place it. It comes from the east, too far away for me to pick up individual sounds.
I continue on, then stop. I pause for a second, then turn around and head back towards the sound.
Curse it curiosity.
Twigs snap underneath my feet, and immediately I step lighter. If it's one thing you learn on the streets, it's never to let someone hear you're coming. Trees tower overhead, casting dark shadows on the forest floor. I never liked the trees. To mysterious.
As I near the source of the noise, seperate sounds start to come to me. Screams. Gunshots. Explosions.
I'm walking near a battlefield. The thought scares me slightly, but I brush the thought aside. I was going to find out what was happening. Maybe even help.
The forest begins to thin, and I quicken my pace. The noise becomes a cacophony, drowning out the forest sounds.
I finally reach the tree line and look out over a clearing. What I see makes me gasp.
The burning ruins of a large building smoke towards the north. It's too far away to make out details, but it looks like some sort of meeting center. Spread out before me is a battle, with Command and Healing tents set up on the edges. In the middle is the fight, with thousands each battling for their lives and their cause. I see the flag of the Resistance raised over the Command tent to the north, and the flag of Catastrophe to the south.
The Resistance. I cast my mind back to the wanted poster. That is who she is with.
A swarm of lights on the edges of the battlefield catches my attention. Several groups of transports pour out over the opposite hill, crashing into Catastrophe's right flank.
My mouth drops as I realize they are automatons. Not transports. Automatons.
Yes. This is where she is.

SecretOkay, I am fangirling now, because Kristjan. That sounds Norwegian to me, and I am in love with Scandinavia, and Kristjan? I've just met that name and I already love it. Floppy blond hair and blue eyes, please, and how old is he? Can I get his charrie sheet? I ship him with Sprocket already. You didn't even have to say it, oh, is he going to save her life? This could be a romance rivaling, rivaling Poe and Alexandria's!

Trixie W. @ConnieParticipantConnie doesn't know that Trixie knows where the Shield is. No one knows who knows where it is, unless they know where it is. (AKA, the protectors of the Shield and only the protectors of the Shield know where it is and who knows where it is.)
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretSo, when is that going to come up? Because someone needs to get it eventually. To advance the plot, you know? And speaking of the plot, whatever happened to the Powers?
-
Alex RParticipant14
Yes someone does need to get it….. I really need it right now or Catastrophe will have a Fox-skin Cap.
-
MoonshadowParticipantYeah, what is happening with the powers? I think we need to bring them into this soon. Maybe after the battle…
-
Trixie W.ParticipantCatastrophe said that I could write a bit from his POW to get the Shield plot line started. I was going to do it once this part had died down. Keep in mind Mina has the Crown, so there is someone who could save Alex.
-
MinaParticipantIm not going to use the Crown until there's no other option. I can't risk putting everyone in danger.

Connie A.ParticipantIn that case, maybe Connie only knew that you knew something about it? That way she can at least start searching…

Sprocket ParticipantGoodness you guys are good!! I've been working on the whole thing for a while, but yes, he might be for Sprocket. I looked up the most popluar guys names in Iceland, and I really liked his name. Viola? I completely agree with your description(I was playing around with different hair types and deicided on messy blonde with a slight curl.) Kudos to you all!!
-
FinnParticipantI see a flashing light somewhere near the top of the hill where the new and rising sun begins to creep from the peak.
Looking around, no one else seemed to notice it, so I make my way through the lines. I see a man of Catastrophe on a black horse, and I shoot the man before shoving him off and leaping on to the horse. I ride fast, not bothering to look back. Soon I reach a wooded area.
The light was behind a large ridge that could be seen next to the hill, so I use that to judge my distance.
I look around, making sure I am alert as we trot through the path with trees. This is the perfect place for an ambush.
But what I see when I get to the ridge isn't any better.
A girl with curly blonde hair is collapsed on the ground, so I leap off the horse and run up to her. The first thing I do is check her pulse, making sure she's still with me. It's weak but there, and I turn the rest of her around and see the Resistance pin before climbing back up the ridge and looking over. There are abandoned tents everywhere, and trash and weapons and dead bodies littering the camp site. I see dead elves among Catastrophe's flanks, and realise the attack was made by the Elven Resistance.
I turn back around to the girl and carefully picking her up, running to the horse. I hoist her up and her limp body slouches against the neck of the horse. I climb up behind the girl, and reach my arms around to grab the reigns. I kick at the horse'a sides and we take off.
But soon I hear the sound of more horses galloping behind me, and with a quick glance behind me, realise I am being chased. I take my gun and aim carefully before firing at the first rider I can see at the moment.
Click.
I yell in frustration. My cartridge is empty. I look at the bow and arrow on the girl's back and hesitate before another arrow whizzes past my ear shot by the enemy soldier.
I steal-no, borrow-her bow and arrow, pulling the string back and releasing. One down.
I turn back around and direct the horse to make a swerve and another one, seeing the war zone in the distance. An arrow grazes past my cheek bone, and I hiss as there is a strong sting.
I draw back another arrow and inhale sharply before whipping my head and shoulders around before firing.
Another down.
I keep the horse directed in where it needs to go, and once the direction is hit straight for the medical tent, I twist around again and fire quickly. However, this rider is smart and dodges the arrow with a flick of his shield.
I turn back around and realise that we are nearing the medical tent. I look around and quickly analyse a plan, and it's crazy.
Butnit's the only option.
I take a deep breath and leap off the horse, grabbing the girl. I make sure she doesn't hit the ground too hard, and leave her under the shelter of a damaged flag pole while I roll back around and grab the gun from the nearest fallen soldier. I aim at the horse's flanks and shoot. The rider tumbles off but immediately gets up and points his gun at me.
The sound of gunfire rips through the foggy, war torn air of dawn.
I exhale slowly and pick myself back up, looking over as the man's final figure slumps down.
I then remember the girl.
"Oh Claaws," I mutter silently, with panic rising in my throat. "She's probably dead by now."
I see her and slowly lift her up, checking her pulse again. I let out a sigh of relief to find it beating still.
I run for the medical tent, and a nurse automatically greets me when two other nurses join her. They begin yelling medical terms, and the doctor, Quill, takes the girl and puts her on a medical bed before she is wheeled away. I begin to slowly strand behind them, but a nurse stops me with her clipboard.
"Not now, Commander."
"Who is she?" I ask, watching as she's finally taken beyond the corner.
"Her name's Etoile, Commander. I woulda reckoned you'd have known. She's the half elf, half human one. Good Resistance fighter. Helps to represent at Council meetings. She's the heir of a king, and is trying to reclaim the kingdom. It's hard though, because the two sides that are her family, the elves and humans, like her but not each other. Times are torn, Commander McCullican. How long will it be before we fight the war amongst ourselves?"
-
Trixie W.ParticipantWait, Etoile's here? Fighting? Are you her author or have you asked her author about that? Because last I heard from her she had blacked out on Viola?'s Hello it's me thread. Maybe I missed a post somewhere. That thread kinda came to a stop because we needed her to post and she didn't.

KristjanParticipantThe battle rages before me, and I quickly jolt out of my thoughts. I wouldn't be able to find her unless I proved myself to the Resistance. They probably wouldn't cope well with an eightteen-year-old who probably looked half-insane wanting to see one of their leaders. Yeah. That would go over great.
It's now or never, I think. I had always dreamed of fighting in a real battle, not just some street scuffle. Now I was looking out over a ravaging battle between two forces, one of which I would gladly fight for to gain their trust. She would only be found through trust.
Shaking slightly, I unsheath my seax and drop my pack. The ornamental handle glints in the light from fires burning in the forest, and I am slightly comforted by the familiar weight in my hand.
My gaze snaps up and I start to run.
~
My arm has become heavy, and my clothes so splattered with blood you can hardly tell what color they are. I am sick of seeing the light of life going out of countless people's lives, and I push thoughts of guilt away. I must remain detached and unfeeling.
I see one of the Resistance soldiers fighting off to my left. Two people are engaging him, and it looks like he is about to falter. Quickly, almost without thinking, I hurl my seax like a spear and take down one of the attackers. The soldier then focuses his attention to to other person, quickly cutting them down.
I run over and yank my seax out of the fallen soldier's back. Wincing at the noise, I turn to the Resistance member.
"Where is command?" I yell.
"Commander Mina is in the the flank. There!" he responds, pointing to his left. I turn and see a Dolor Felis resting behind the attack line.
"Thank you!" I shout as I slowly make my way over.
It takes me a bit to get to her, as I have to fight a couple of people along the way. Finally, I am within a ten foot radius.
She is fighting a Catastrophe soldier who snuck through the front lines. I jump in and stab him in the back. He falls, and Mina looks at me with gratitude.
"Thanks," she says.
I nod, then quickly get to business.
"Commander Mina, where is Commander Sprocket?" I ask, my voice raised slightly so as to be heard over the battle.
Her face falls.
"In the Med tent. She's beat up pretty bad. She won't be fighting anymore."
My heart goes cold.
"Will she-will she die?" I stutter.
Mina shakes her head.
"No, Quill fixed her up ok. She just probably won't be able to do much for a while."
Our conversation is cut short by a breach in the front line. We say nothing more as we both begin to fight again.

"What's wrong? Is the little pup tired?" Catastrophe laughes at me as he takes another swing at me, I move out of the way
Dispite being injured and about to drop. I smile.
"You know, you are the first to beat the c-"
He swings. Cutting of the tip of my ear as I dodge. An addition to my chest wond and bloody arm. My clothes more red than green. And I wasn't able to hit him at all. My blade is too shor-
He brings his blade into the air and Pater Iusitiae rises to meet it.
"Ego suadeant te relinquo"
"Pater! I can handle him!"
"You keep calling him Pater," Catastrophe said "I doubt it is not it's name."
"It's a he!"
"Exactly, It is living, what's it's name?" He coaxed
"I won't tell you!"
"Than you will take it to your grave"
I need more power! As he swings an Idea hit me.
Heather, I thought, can you fuse with Pater Iustitiae?
I'll try but why do you need me to? She asked
JUST DO IT PLEASE!
Fine then. She replied.
Her SOUL went from the Necklace to my sword. It glows a mix of red and yellow as the Sword extends.
"More party tricks, fox?"
I swing with newfound Determination as my sword slams into his. And thats when I saw it…
He had to take a few steps back!
"This will be interesting."
"Indeed fox. Your death will be"

SecretKeep in mind, Alex, that this isn't the final battle. Catastrophe can only be defeated once and for all by the six Powers united, and two of them still need to be found and activated. You can give him a fight, but you can't kill him, even with the help of your father and Heather. Beat him back, but don't get yourself killed.

her SOUL is now free.
but before I saw what happen next.
Pater Iustitiae burst in Yellow.
And just like that. I was blasted away from Catastrope. And landed by the restance medic camp.

I have been holding down the lion for a few minutes now, and I still don't know…
More later. I am not really feeling like writing. And what are we going to do with the powers?
-
HeatherParticipantI feel my legs.
And then my arms.
I crack my neck and casually stretch out my limbs.
I let my tail bristle and I smirk.
I take my gun and fire at Catastrophe, shot after shot, not blinking, only advancing.
And just when I got here, he's gone.
I twirl my gun back into its socket and start to head off for the large white tent I saw Alex fly off like an idiot in. I've missed him though. I've missed everyone.
I've missed this.
I kill about ten soldiers on my way to the tent. Anyone who has the red Catastrophe emblem that stays in my way is dead within a second.
I push up the flaps of the tent and see Alex laying on a white doctor's bed. I don't even notice the looks of shock I get from everyone.
He starts to stir, and looks around before catching my eye.
"Heather?!"
I give another smirk. "It's good to be back. Now what've I missed?"
-
Alex RParticipant14
"Well Heather…." I say while sitting up "First are you missing anything? A finger? A bone? A lung?"
"Huh?" She tilts her head slightly.
"Nevermind, I am sure the revival went well." Examining her just to be sure.
"What did I miss?"
"Oh ya, well….." I and a couple of others fill her in about the relics, deaths of allies and enemies, the ball and the arival of my girlfriend. Sabotaginga truck and freeing prisoners like Kimi. All the juicy bits.
"Now excuse me I have a fight to finish." Getting up I was about to leave the tent when a wall of yellow sprang up. Preventing me from leaving.
"Now listen here Filius, I am tired of your recklessness. You are not ready to fight that… that Daemonium. I want you to rest here until every wound is healed. Intellegis?"
"Pater, let me leave!"
"Actually," Quill objects, "He has a point. I mean you have two broken ribs, a gash in the side of your chest that is barely healing, and a facture in your arm. I'm surprised you werd able to get up so quick."
"Nothing a little Magic can't fix." I grab one of Eris' red bottles and it explodes in my hand.
"Tsk tsk tsk, Non Magicae"
This is getting annoying.
-
Mina@Alex R. ParticipantIf I'm not wrong, is your father in your sword? I'm sorry if that sounds confusing, but you refer to your sword as "Pater," which means, "father," in Latin. I know because I used to call my father Pater when I lived in the Dolor Felis village, and my mother Mater. Actually, my last name has some Latin words. Do they also use Latin in Zekia? Or is it just you?
-
Alex R@MinaParticipant14
Yes. a flat out yes, to both. I thought I said the second one already on Zekia: Land of Anthro (which sadly died), and no you weren't confusing. Latin is the Native to Zekia so everyone speaks it, English is a second language. In fact Pater Iustitiae means Father of Justice in Latin.
why the heck not, let me give some lore about the Sword of Names
When the owner dies, his SOUL replaces the one already in the Sword and the Sword gets a new name, which is the relation to the heir plus the SOUL type. So if I die and had a son, it would turn from Pater Iusitiae to Pater Fortitudo. If grandchild then Fortitudo Avus. The Sword of Names as I like to call it is suppose to act like a gaurdian to the heir. protecting the Heir and helping them in battle,The Sword of course has a mind of it's own so if the Heir desides to go on a bloody massacre, the Sword will not work, maybe even kill the heir, and find a new one, well a least thats the idea because that hasn't happen yet and hopefully never will.
I hope this answers any questions you may have.
-
MinaParticipantOh okay, cool! And that did clear things up, I'm glad I wasn't confusing. XD
Thanks!

Council battlePaprika~
I've been running through the forest for hours, barely ever stopping to catch my breath. The dagger I slipped into the folds of my skirt this morning feels heavy, and it bangs against my legs every other step. Exhausted, I slow to a walk.Suddenly, I hear screaming, and the sharp clang of steel on steel. It seems to be coming from right in front of me. I cautiously peer through the trees and find that they stop just a few feet ahead of me to reveal a large, grassy field. I gasp at what lays on that field.Thousands of soldiers are fighting, and the ground is soaked in blood. I am about to turn back, go back to the endless constraints of nobility…. but something makes me stop in my tracks. It's a girl. She looks to be about my own age, with two red braids and mechanical wings- and she's about to be attacked from behind by an opposing soldier.Without thinking at all, I hitch my skirts up to my knees, pull out the dagger, then sprint across the field. Just as the soldier is about to attack the girl, I reach them."NO!" I scream. It startles the opposing soldier and he spins around to face me. I try to lunge at him with my dagger outstretched, but he's too fast for me and I am soon pinned to the ground. He looks down at me with scorn, obviously thinking, She's not worth killing. He walks away, and the girl I saved stares down at me.I do a double take. She looks just like me! Memories start flooding my brain, and I suppress them. The girl offers a hand to help me up, but I don't take it."Thank you for saving me," she says. "Come with me."Before I have a chance to respond, she's grabbed me by the wrist and we're running towards a tent. She brings me inside, and is soon talking to another one of the soldiers, this one a Dolor Felis wearing a torn black evening gown."General Mina," says the girl, and salutes."Yes?" says the other."This girl saved me. I've never seen her before. ""All right, Microchip. Return to the battle. As for you," she looks at me, "you stay here."I curtsy, and self-consciously notice that my dress is torn, my hair is mussed, and my arms and probably also my face are smudged with dirt."Hello, General Mina," I say."What is your name?" she asks."Sonia Pur Abadore. But please call me Paprika.""All right, Paprika. The Resistance thanks you for saving Microchip.""Wait… You're from the Resistance? Um…well…..Can I join?" The Resistance! I'd always dreamed of being one of them, and this may be my only chance.~Mina, sorry if I controlled you too much. Could you please tell Paprika whether she can join or not?-
MinaParticipantNice post Paprika! And no, you got everything right, and you didn't control it at all. (Actually, one minor correction, I'm in a Resistance uniform and black cape now lol but that doesn't really matter.)
Moi (and me, Mina! Gosh! XD ~Baron)~
"Wait, you're from the Resistance? Um…well…can I join?" she asks.
"Sure," I reply. "Just complete a physical by Quill later. And a phsycological later. But right now, we need people that will fight."
I look at her. She's ready to fight, but a dress will only get in her way.
I ask the nurses for a black uniform, and they come back with one that seems to be her size.
"Try this on," I say, tossing her the package. I then toss her a sword. Her eyes widen and I can't help but smile. "It's basically a big dagger. If you need help, I'm here. Any questions?"
She shakes her head hurriedly, obviously overwhelmed.
I give her a smile of sympathy. "We don't usually welcome new members like this. You're a good fighter, Paprika, I'm sure you'll be okay. Everything will be more proper once this battle is over."
She nods back. "Thank you. For welcoming me. Where should I go to fight?"
"Trust your instincts," I reply. I then pat her on the shoulder and head for the exit of the tent, where I meet Baron. His usual bright fur is matted with blood and dirt.
"Who's this?" he asks quietly to me.
"Paprika," I reply back. "You okay?"
He nods. "I'm fine. You?"
Before I can reply, his eyes have already caught on the place that I didn't want people to see. But he's a cat. He has better eyes than most humans and others. I should have concealed it better.
"Mina, what happened to your collarbone?"
Around my shoulder area, blood seeps through my black cloak, and I wince. "It's nothing."
"It's something," he replies. "What were you shot by? How…?"
"I was helping a wounded soldier up," I respond. "And someone caught me off guard. Luckily they couldn't aim very well at that moment and time and only nicked my collar bone."
"'Nicked,'" he sarcastically replies. "Mina, you need to go to the medical tent."
"No," I reply. "Others are there that need more help than me. Don't worry about it. Let's go fight."
But what he doesn't know is that I've been poisoned. I love the fun of a little poison, a little gamble with how well one antibiotic will work. I've dealt with worse poison before when I was being experimented on by SOCS, but it still stings. And I don't know how long it will take to infect everything else. I just hope the battle will end by then. And if it doesn-
I blush as a light peck on my cheek interrupts my thoughts. I spin around towards the entrance and see a cat tail disappear.
Baron, I swear.

KristjanParticipantI push back the flap of the Emergency Tent. It's more of a building, really, with wood walls and a roof made out of canvas. This is the main tent, but there are countless other smaller rooms spreading out around it. The sounds of battle can still be heard through the walls, and nurses and doctors run around, the stress of a war showing in their faces.
I grab the arm of a nurse nearby. She jumps, and her eyes widen as she looks at me. I imagine I look slightly insane, as she pales when she focuses on my face.
"Are you hurt?" she barks, surprising me with how firm her voice is. "We don't have a lot of room, and since you're good enough to walk here, I'll just have to have you wait."
"No, no," I say quickly. "I'm not hurt. I was just wondering if I could see someone-"
I take a deep breath. My heart races, and the adrenaline of the battle mixes badly with my terror.
"Someone important to me," I finish. I'm impatient, and I think the nurse notices.
She scowls.
"This isn't a reception hall buddy," she snaps. "Who is it you want to see?"
"Sprocket. Sprocket of SailHaven."
Her face darkens.
"How dare you," she breathes. "Come in here and ask to see a member of head command. Like you run the place. You're just a common foot soldier. Not even that high up by the looks of it. How do I know you won't do something to her while she's hurt? No sir. Go out and do your duty to the Resistance."
She pushes me towards the door, surprisingly strong for her size. I struggle against her, but I'm already tired from the battle and my limbs are weak.
"Please, no!" I shout as she pushes me closer to the exit. "I have to see her! At least tell me she's ok!"
The nurse must have heard my desperation and concern, because her grip loosens.
"She's fine. Just hurt pretty bad. She'll make it hopefully. Do you have something you want to tell her?"
"Just tell her Kristjan is here and that the red guys are tailing. She'll understand."
The nurse nods, then opens the tent flap and pushes me out.
-
QuillParticipant"Matilda!" I yell.
The burly nurse looks around and she forces a look of respect. "Dr. Aspen."
"Yeah, Dr. Aspen to you," I mutter, pushing past her and grabbing Kristjan's arm. "C'mon."
He follows me quietly through the hallways before we arrive at the small room where Sprocket is in.
"Take it easy," I say.
He smiles. "Thank you."
"No problem," I say, before turning and heading back to the front area.
