Sprocket ParticipantI watch Mina walk away. Note: no more singing. People must hate it as much as I do.
Kristjan comes up and takes my hand. His head is down, and neither of us talk.
She needs to be alone, I project into Kristjan's head. It was the first time I had ever talked to him that way, and I drew away from his thoughts as quick as possible.
As I expect, he stiffens and whirls to face me. His eyes are wide, and he's shaking slightly.
"Sprocket-" he croaks.
"Yes, Kristjan," I say wearily. "I'm a vamp."
I bare my teeth slightly at him, showing sharper canines.
He walks over to a tree and slides down it. I sit down next to him.
"There's a lot I need to tell you about," I say, breaking the silence.
"You're dang right about that," Kristjan says. "Why don't you start now?"
-
KristjanParticipantSprocket sighs.
"This is going to take a while."
She starts at the beginning. Making Cobalt, getting involved with Elliot. Becoming a vampire. With each new addition to her story I am astonished that so much could have happened to her while so little happened to me.
The cleanup continues on. We watch, each of us living the past as Sprocket tells us. In some parts it sounds like she might cry, like when they froze her arm.
But she doesn't. I know Sprocket. She doesn't like to show weakness. Including today, I've seen her cry three times. The first was when I met her.
She finishes her story and I whistle.
"And to think that while I was making swords, you were fighting to save a city."
I laugh slightly, then move slightly to face her.
"Why did you sing? I know you hate it." My question hangs in the air.
Sprocket clears her throat and then begins.
"Ever since I thought you died, I've been singing the parting song you taught me. You don't know how I felt when I couldn't find your body and sing the song for you. The one thing you had asked me to do, and I thought I had failed it."
She laughed slightly.
"I guess Mina and I both loathe it."

SecretNygrune~
I spot General Mina standing alone on the battlefield, so I head over. My vision spell is still in effect. I notice that she doesn't look happy, but I'm pretty sure that's normal.
"General Mina–you're injured!"
She exhales sharply, somewhere between a laugh and a hiss. I dig a healing spell out of my satchel. My voice continues to form words, and I let it.
"Let me help you. We can't have you wounded, even minorly. This is one of my stronger spells. I'll leave you be in a moment. Here, it won't hurt."
"Stand down," she begins, but I've already released the spell. Swirls of golden light expand from the wound, a little aesthetic touch of mine. The General looks down at it, probably annoyed. I take a step back.
~End RP. Was that okay? It just kinda happened. It got me wondering, though, what's Nygrune's position in the Resistance?
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretAlso, I'm guessing it's early morning of the 24th or 25th of September now, probably two-ish.
-
MinaParticipantWait, since when was I injured? And Mina isn’t as mean as everyone thinks, she’ll accept help if she needs it. Only in special circumstances she won’t. Please keep that in mind.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretEarlier on this thread! Page 10, Baron said you needed to go to the medical tent, though you told him you were only nicked. A poisoned arrow to the shoulder, if I remember correctly. Also, while looking, I saw that you gave the crown to Ronan and transformed into a human (redhead) and have wind and light powers.
-
MinaParticipantIt barely got the shoulder. And it would have healed by then. I specifically compared it to the poisons SOCS gave me for a reason. My body has become immune to half of them. And correction, I didn’t give the Crown to Ronan. I actually have him a decoy, if you read that. Also, I’m not sure if I currently am using the wind and light powers, but I’m honestly too tired to go back and look.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretIt's only been half a night, and it was poisoned. Unless you have strong magic speed-healing powers too, that's going to take a few days to get better on its own. And regular poison can still kill you, or at least make injuries worse. This wasn't necessarily a poison you're immune to. But either way, Nygrune saw blood and reacted accordingly, and I just want to make sure I wasn't controlling.
-
MinaParticipantI get that, but I go to bed at 10:00 or 11:00 because of homework and projects, and wake up at 6:00 for school, so please be careful not to determine how my schedule is too much. And I made a comment because you were controlling how Mina reacted. And actually, she is genetically modified, so she is not affected by all poisons. Thank you for attempting to understand. 🙂
-
Trixie W.ParticipantI think she meant half a day in Kyngdom, right?
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretYes.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretOh hey, I get up before the sun rises and go to sleep long after it sets, too. But that's not what I meant. I know she's immune to some poisons–unless you mean all of them? That seems a little OP… Anyway. I'm sorry for controlling; I assumed she would wave him off because of how she responded to Baron. So, how would she have reacted, then?
-
MinaParticipantOh okay, just the way you worded it sounded like that. And I never said she was immune to all poisons, only a few. Okay? And she would have tiredly reacted and just let Nygrune heal her, not paying much attention to it. After all, she doesn’t have enough energy to fight him, she doesn’t want to waste her time doing that.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretAll right, thanks! One more question: was the arrow poison a poison she was immune to, or not?
-
MinaParticipantOnce again, she was immune to the poison on the arrow.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretOkay, thanks. So I'll rewrite it, then.
-
MinaParticipantI’m not saying you have to rewrite it, although that is entirely up to you. I was just saying this as a future reference kinda thing. 🙂
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretI know, but I want to.
-
MinaParticipantA okay, your choice!
-
Connie A.ParticipantConnie felt as though a great weight had suddenly smashed down on her shoulders, crushing her almost to the ground. She gasped at the pain of it, then realized that perhaps the weight had been there for a while; she just hadn't had the courage to realize it.
-
Connie A.ParticipantOh, wow, what the heck? I think this post was supposed to be when Connie surveyed the smoldering battle scene, and for some reason I just posted it. Weird. XD

Sprocket ParticipantOK guys, I'm moving ahead on the story. I'm sorry if I do something that somebody doesn't like, but no one else is doing anything.
We've set up a jury-rigged council room in one of the empty hospital tents. There aren't many empty ones, as the majority of them were filled with the injured and dying.
I sit next to Kristjan on the right side of the table, towards the head. The table is scratched and worn, something that was salvaged out of the wrecked event hall. The tent has a hole in the top, and the first rays of sun are bleeding into the space. Mina sits on my left, and Alex sits across the table from us. Connie is there with the rest of the Winged ones, and shadow sits next to Mina. We all look awful, and Vol is taking a nap on Aviances's shoulder.
I clear my throat and straighten up. Vol jerks awake, rubbing his face with his hands.
"I'm sorry that we have to have this council meeting. I know that it is in an inconvinient time, but it is needed."
I look around at all of them. Mina doesn't raise her grief-stricken face, but shadow raises her head wearily.
"We need to decide what is going to happen next," she says.
"How?" Connie asks. "I don't mean to be the devil's advocate, but we don't have a lot options. We lost half of our forces, barely keeping the Crown away from Catastrophe."
"We can go to the base," Min says, still looking down. "We can go to the base and recover. We will be protected there."
"What base?" Connie counters. "I don't even know what we established as head quarters. Last time I checked, we were camped out along the Wreath Wall."
"We can go to Bleak Peak," Alex suggests. "That's safe."
"Bleak Peak might work," I say. "I have my warehouse and automaton workshop there, but we could make it work."
"It sounds like a good idea. We just need it to be big enough to protect us from the elements and guard us from Catastrophe," shadow says. "Should we plan to move there tomorrow morning?"
"We'll have to talk to Quill and see if the injured are in a good enough condition," Vol says. "IF not, we might have to wait a few days."
Everyone nods, facing me again.
I take a deep breath.
"That's not all. We can't just keep planning in the short term. We have to know what we are going to do. How are we going to defeat Catastrophe? We're just a small band of rebels. How are we going to find the Shield before he does? What about the powers? Are they even part of the picture? Does anyone know where they are? Where are Icy and Ronan?"
shadow puts her head down, and everyone else does as well. The questions hang in the air, and the tent is silent.
I need other people's input on what is going to happen.
-
MinaParticipant“The base as in Mer,” I interrupt. “Bleak Peak has been taken over by military forces. And you know what happens when the Resistance and militaries mix. Defeating Catastrophe wise, well, we’ve tried everything haven’t we? Defeat him from the inside, defeat him from the outside, spies, everything. Nothing has worked. I suggest we try one more thing.”
Sprocket looks at me with an eyebrow raised. “What?”
”I’ll send a message to him from Mer’s base, arranging a diplomatic meeting. He’s awful and violent, but smart. He doesn’t want to lose his supporters by refusing a civil meeting that might prevent anymore bloodshed, on both forces. He’ll definitely bring a couple captains with him, so I’ll bring a couple of you with me too.”
”Let me at him,” Alex growls.
“Alright,” I sigh. “But restrain yourself, okay?”
Sprocket raises her hand. “I’ll volunteer. But are you sure that Mer is okay with it?”
”I’ve discussed this with Harbor before,” I reply. “And after her funeral, Ocean said we could use the now-ready base. I think everyone else should be behind the door, meaning listening in on the conversation.”
shadow nods. “I’ll perch with Connie in the upper shutter. We’ll make sure to wire the place.”
”Everyone else, be ready for a fight in case everything goes wrong,” I say. “But hopefully it won’t.”
”What about the Crown,” Sprocket asks.
“I know where it is,” I reply. “And it’s safe. The Sheild, well…since Catastrophe obviously doesn’t have it, I feel as though someone in the Resistance has been keeping it a secret.”
-
Alex RParticipant15
"Well then," I sexclaim "Who ever knows where it is, tell us so we can have someone where the crown and shiled and send them to fight Catastrophe! sice 2 is greater than 1, we should be able to win!"
The others look at me.
"That," Sprocket replies "Is the stupidest thing I have ever heard you say."
"But it's simple math!"
"Didn't you do poorly in Mrs. Herdberry's class" Pater Istitiae glows a bit more cheery
"This is a military meeting, no time for tomfoollry Pater!"
"And yet you did make the stupidest suggestion of all time" Mina points out
"UGH! WHERE IS THE SHIELD!"
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretNieke isn't there; she's in some elf forest in Middle Kyngdom with the Elites.

Alex RParticipant15
…
Admins would you please be so kind as to change the part where it said Neike to Sprocket?
Done!
-Admin
-
-
Trixie W.ParticipantLolol, I know!
But for real, I take it this is where I should bring the Shield in. How though? Any suggestions?
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretSomething to do with the Elites? Maybe Trixie catches wind of Catastrophe's plans for it and decides to move or reveal it? Something happens at or near its location, prompting shenanigans? Some random idiot finds it and the plot becomes a race to track and chase them down before anoyone else does?
-
Connie A.Participant…Connie can help with that. I don't know how, but maybe she finds it or something? I just need something important to do with my charries XD
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretYeah, me too. Heh, Lycaella would become instantly obsessed with drawing your charries if she met them. Oh my Kyngdom, she found a potential base in Great Forest, you could go there as reviewers/reserve soldiers and it would happen! *is excited*
There's not really much going on in that area, but we could change that. Concoct schemes with magic and stuff to aid the war effort… There's also Harbor's funeral, we just need a villain to crash it. Mina's going to be there last I checked, maybe Catastrophe will take another stab at stealing the Crown from her.
-
Trixie W.ParticipantConnie, if Trixie does send a message to the Resistance, Connie could be the one receive it. Would that work?
-
Connie A.ParticipantYes! Perfect! Thanks!

SecretOkay, rewriting that RP like I promised.
Nygrune~
I spot General Mina standing alone on the battlefield, so I head over.
My vision spell is still in effect. I notice that she doesn't look
happy, but I'm pretty sure that's normal."General Mina–you're injured!"
Her gaze flickers briefly over to me, although she remains silent. I'm already digging a
healing spell out of my satchel. My voice continues to form words, and I
let it."Let me help you. We can't have you wounded, even minorly. I'll leave you be in a moment. Here, it won't
hurt."I release the spell. Swirls of
golden light expand from the wound, a little aesthetic touch of mine. The General glances down at it, then goes back to staring off into the distance. I trace her gaze, but it appears that she's not looking at anything in particular."I heard talk of another meeting, to figure out what to do next."
"Mm." The first utterance I've heard from her today. "Where?"
"One of the medical tents." I point. "They probably haven't started yet." She walks off in the direction I indicated without another word.
"You're welcome," I say to no one.
It makes sense, that she'd be reserved and businesslike. Someone of her age… But she isn't that old, is she? Maybe it's the war.
I wander for a while, back to the tents and to the people, then towards the field again when the sky begins to glow, heralding the sun.
-
Alex RParticipant15
After the meeting…
"Hey Kelsi!" She turns around, her black hair flowing in the wind.
"Let me guess, you want to try a new move so you can be more reckless."
"You know me well. I want to practice parry. Might be useful…"
Without saying a word she draws a blade and takes a swing. I lift mine to late.
*ALEX LV. 5. HP 25/40
My blood hits the ground. My gut reopened.
"MY ZEKIA YOU OKAY?"
*Plus 15 HP*
She punches me. "Don't do that again!"
"Heh. Your kindness healed me. Why would I not plan ahead. Again"
She swings.I attack at the same time and when the blades connect…
There it was.
A force knock me and Kelsi back, making a boom sound. Others look at the scene.
"YEAH AGAIN!"
"Of course you want it again!"
We keep at it. Ting, Boom!. Ting, Boom!
After a while. Mina ask if we could stop, it's giving her a headache.
"Why…. How are you even doing that?" She asks me.
"How? SOUL infused swords can parry like that. Why? I will need that extra edge"
If I stun Catastrophe. I will be able to land a hit.
When the Last Battle comes. I need to be ready.
-
Trixie W.ParticipantViola?, I'm sorry, I totally missed your post. What if Trixie sends an anonymous message to the leaders of the Resistance? She wouldn't reveal it, or who knows where it is, yet.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretSure, but if she doesn't reveal it or who knows about it, what would the message say?
-
Trixie W.ParticipantSomething along the lines of "I know where the Shield is, give me a reason to trust you enough to give it to you.". To be clear, by reveal it I meant actually show where the Shield is in the message.
-
Viola?ParticipantSecret
SecretThat would kind of be revealing who knows about it, but okay. Sounds good. Oh, maybe it could be like "I have information regarding the Shield, give me a reason to trust you"?
-
Trixie W.ParticipantHow so? I don't see why anyone would know who sent it. But you're right that more vague would probably be better.
