the World's EndOkay, then the Shadow Alliance (good idea to call them that and combine their powers!) can disappear into shadows and communicate telepathically. Perhaps they can also move rocks with telekinesis–although that requires a good amount of energy, so if they use an exceedingly powerful spell at the beginning of the battle, like causing an avalanche, they'll only able to throw pebbles for the rest of the time; therefore they might need to use their magic wisely (and maybe this goes for the other animals as well) By the way, since this is a war, we could avoid charries dying by making it a war to steal/uncover the secrets of each others magic, and not a violent war. The Halite Alliance could summon those things and the Fern Wolves could make trees/plants grow or shrivel up poisonous plants (if there are poisonous plants, that is), supernaturally quickly. I like the idea of them seeing into the future 🙂 Do you think all the animals in the Fern Alliance could see into the future, or just one species/individual (like maybe the leader of the pack was elected for having the talent to see the future, or there are seers who specialize in it)? Yes, basic powers could be being invisible for a short period of time and possibly teleportation, if that was what you meant by “moving quickly from one place to another”. I think for all these powers we could let the CBers decide unique powers for each charrie…like maybe one type of plant-growing magic only applies to vines, another makes a tree bear two kinds of fruit instead of one, etc. That way, no one has the same advantage, but hopefully no charrie is OP?
Yes, actually you thought of the idea of red/arctic foxes first, a page back, so complete credit to you for the fox idea 😀 I think foxes can be spies (probably paid by the wolves) and mutual allies. Since Shadow Eagles (and come to think of it, all the other eagles too) could be spies too, (because they can directly and noiselessly communicate information to Shadow Wolves through telepathy) perhaps only the Fern and Halite Wolves use foxes as spies?
Ooh shipping, good idea 🙂 A simpler form for fox/eagles would be helpful (with a short, basic personality, maybe?) because they are more minor characters. Speaking of forms, should we list the age in months (since according to a quick research is 2 wolf years to 14-22 human years, or something like that, so it might be more specific how old the charrie is if the age was in months) and, to make sure every wolf has an eagle that they're linked with and we don’t have wolves without eagles, we could require that each CBer submit a telepathically linked animal with every wolf charrie they make…Probably no limit on charries because it takes a lot of wolves to make a pack, and (probably?) no one’s going to create like, 32 of them XD.
Which pack leader do you prefer to be? I think it would be helpful to have a Shadow Wolf leader, but I don't know who would control them…maybe any CBer with a Shadow Wolf charrie who is consistently posting could? Oh, I like your idea that the Shadow Wolves could go to the mountains (where their eagles are waiting for them, because eagles are more-or-less in the mountains) after the conflict starts, as a hideout, but are living among the others before, scattered about and seemingly unorganized (but they could be communicating with each other by sending telepathic messages through their eagles, and having the eagles talk to each other. Does that make sense?)
I agree that we need to work on the plot. Perhaps the Shadow Wolves and Shadow Eagles start plotting to master the magic forms of the other wolves and eagles and thus control them, the Halite Wolves overhear the eagles talking to each other and realize what they're planning or the Fern Wolves foresee their plan (perhaps we could write prophecies?), the Shadow Wolves find out and go into hiding in the mountains, all while attempting to discover and use the magic of the other wolves, in order to reign over them (we'd have to figure out how they do this…perhaps there is a potion of a rare maybe bioluminescent magical flower in the forest and special halite crystals in the tundra that the wolves and eagles use as the source of their magic, but it's a closely guarded secret…and by the way, the Shadow Eagles could use an onyx or an obsidian stone as their source of magic, in that case). Also, other CBers might have good ideas for the plot and suggest them as the RP goes on. And an idea: since Halite Wolves don’t really have easy access to food where they live, they could trade salt (which is halite) to the Fern Wolves in exchange for vegetables, ferns, mushrooms, nuts, and fruit, which the Fern Wolves would use to season their food?
I'm going to post the list I mentioned in a comment after this, because otherwise this is going to be vErY lOnG. I don't know if there's a word/paragraph limit on CB, but I don't want to find out by reaching it 😉
Thank you <3 Oh yes, math can be fun, almost like solving a puzzle in some ways, and it's so satisfying to find out the correct answer to a problem 🙂 I wouldn't choose it as a career either, especially because it seems to get harder soon, and it's already hard enough lol. My favorite subject is probably science right now, but that might be because I have a lot of ELA electives (to put it simply) that I'm taking, and so maybe that's why I like my regular ELA class less right now.
No worries, I don’t think your comment is long at all! This one and the list (the list is 1034 words…I hope that is okay with you and the admins; if it's not, I'll make it shorter :/ ) are probably very long as well. Sorry if I have far too many unorganized ideas here…maybe the list I’ll post shortly after this will help.
Eek the captcha disappeared for a moment. I thought I was out of screen allowance time lol!

deep underwater…And also I forgot to add that because I'm at school most of the time and vErY bUsY, I think I'll be less active on the CB than I used to be 🙁 🙁 I'm afraid that I will go on another hiatus again without warning (because of a mountain of schoolwork), and I really, really don't want to be the cause of our RP disappearing off of the top page 🙁 So, perhaps we could also accept a co-leader if a CBer joining the RP cares to make one, and my charrie could just be held hostage or something temporarily if I go on a hiatus, while the co-leader rules? Just a thought…
-
AmethystParticipantthe White Witch's palaceI like the idea of moving rocks! I agree, it might be a good idea for some powers to be unrenewable, though perhaps that could be for only the most important powers so there's no danger of the wolves running out of their powers halfway through? Or maybe as long as they're used in moderation, they don't run out. It adds an interesting twist to the powers, though 🙂 Yes, uncovering the secrets of the other wolves would help avoid a violent war, which would be a good thing. (Not having a violent war would be a good thing, not the other way round XD) Those powers sound good! Probably the foxes of the Fern Alliance wouldn't be able to see into the future, since they've just agreed to help out but have no real connection with the wolves; special seers might help (it would also keep the power of seeing into the future from getting too OP). Yes, teleportation or just being able to move extremely quickly – either of those would work 🙂 Individual powers sound wonderful! That would probably have to be added to the form as well.
I thought of the foxes? I suppose I did… I vaguely remember. Oh dear, I don't seem to have a very good memory, lol. Yes, it would probably help to only have foxes in the Halite/Fern Alliances – especially since there are Arctic foxes and red foxes but no other main type of fox to join the Shadow Wolves, except for possibly black foxes?
Personality would be good 🙂 Hmm, I hadn't thought about that, but age in months would probably help. And yes, there should probably be at least one eagle along with every wolf. No limit on charries sounds good – we want as many as we can get 😀
I don't really mind… maybe the Halite Wolves' leader? If you want that one, though, go ahead 🙂 And maybe we could ask the creator of a very active Shadow Wolf charrie to take over the Shadow Alliance – maybe that charrie could rise to the head of the Shadow Wolves. Yes, that makes sense! That would probably be the best course of action for the Shadow Wolves, then.
Ooh, all that should be good 🙂 Whee prophecies fun, we should certainly write prophecies!! A flower/halite crystals (maybe just one, though there could be others for decoys in case of danger like this)/onyx or obsidian stone would work. Maybe it could be obsidian – it sounds more like the Shadow Wolves, somehow. Probably we will be getting other ideas from CBers as we go along, but it might be good to have the basic framework of the plot sorted out so that we don't start aimlessly introducing new ideas that don't really fit together. I like the idea of trading! That works itself out very nicely 🙂
We should probably also be working out what the introductory post is going to include – we seem to have worked out lots and lots of ideas (which is wonderful, but we'll have to organize them somehow…) It would probably have to include a short history (like why the Shadow Wolves turned against the other wolves in the first place), then the different kinds of wolves and the species who live with them (basically foxes/eagles), and the situation they're in right now (Shadow Wolves among the other wolves, but unrecognized). Maybe also some general facts about the wolves (like how they trade), and of course the forms. We also need to figure out how the Alliances will finally decide that they need to work together instead of fighting to control each other.
Oh dear, that would never do 😉 I don't think there's a word/paragraph limit, though.
Yes, exactly, it's like solving a puzzle. Good luck with your ELA electives also!
Oh no, I'll miss you 🙁 If needed, we could always have a co-leader, and if no other charrie wants to co-lead I could always make a charrie to do that, or my leader could take over leadership of your alliance until you can come back… It would be tragic if it disappeared off the top page :/
Help, my comments are getting longer and longer. There's one last thing, though – this thread is almost exactly nine months old! *throws eco-friendly confetti* I've enjoyed talking with you so much 🙂

the nucleusI'm going to get around to replying or posting the list once my schedule frees up…at my school (I don't know if this happens at other schools too, but I know it happens at mine) there are times when all my teachers assign absolutely nothing and I'm left with nothing to do but study everything I've learned since the beginning of the year, and then suddenly all my teachers will assign homework and projects and tests at the same time, and I'll just be scrambling to complete them all while finding time to study:( (This is why I am concerned about unexpected hiatuses) Once this scramble is over, I'll be working more on the RP, because I'll actually have time.
Speaking of which, I know you have probably seen the Escape Room I posted, and might be wondering how I have time for that but not this thread or my Ski Lodge. The answer is that the Escape Room is easier and quicker to write because 1. There is no story or dialogue. 2. I have the first room planned out already. 3. It is short, and since I work best when I can write something in a single sitting, I can write an Escape Room part very quickly. RPs take two or three times that (time I do not have right now but will have very soon) and a part of my Ski Lodge takes days.
And now I must vanish promptly to finish an assignment due today.
-
AmethystParticipantsomewhere in Narnia XDOh, dear… you'd think teachers, of all people, could organize themselves. Anyway, don't worry if this thread or your ski lodge take a while! Ah, the joy of being able to rattle off writing quickly… your escape room looks interesting, btw! (Also, you already know exactly how long I've taken to catch up on my solo writes… hehe. I really have to advance on them more 😐 )
Anyway, good luck with your schoolwork! Take as much time as you need to respond here, I can wait 🙂

hello!Yayyyy it's Spring Break and I can finally post the list !!! I missed you so much 🙁
We could possibly adapt the list into an organization system, by copying and pasting it into comments, and adding/deleting/rewording things. I’m writing all the unconfirmed ideas/commentary/ideas I’m proposing in italics, but don’t hesitate to delete them if you don’t like them or don’t think they’ll work out in the RP 🙂 All the confirmed ideas are written in non-italic. Note: I might be getting way too excited about tiny details and overcomplicating things here. If you’d like me to think of more simple ideas, I can definitely do that 🙂
Second note: There are probably mistakes in this, but more-or-less it has everything we agreed on for the RP, + undecided on ideas.
~List~
Magic Ideas:
All animals can turn invisible for a short time and teleporting/moving quickly (are those the same thing??). Important, powerful types of magic have one exceedingly powerful move (to use video game terminology) that can only be used in moderation, to avoid the animal from running out of magical energy.
Packs
Shadow Wolves: Dark fur. They live in both the forest and the tundra, after being exiled to the mountains for causing harm to the other packs, then, when the other packs were under different leadership, allowed to return to the packs. They have good night vision. Their magical abilities are camouflaging into shadows and manipulating rocks and stone with telekinesis. An obsidian pendant they wear at night gives them these powers. Each of them is telepathically linked with a Shadow Eagle and are secretly keeping in touch with their entire pack by thinking messages at their eagle to send to other eagles sitting nearby, who will communicate them to another wolf, and speak the same language as them. They are planning to overthrow the other packs and their animals, by stealing their magic. Their leader is ______(ask active CBer of a shadow wolf charrie)_____.
Fern Wolves: Brown fur. They live in the forest in dens hidden by ferns. The ferns were originally an adaptation to needing to defend their wolf cubs, but the habit stuck, and so the ferns are woven and built with, and the wolves eat ferns, as well as mushrooms, vegetables, fruit, and nuts. They make a potion out of a rare (unnamed) flower that enables them to help plants grow and destroy poisonous plants supernaturally quickly. There are decoys of this flower. They make various potions (mostly ones for recovering strength) from plants they find in the forest. The flower also gives special seers among them an ability to see into the future. Their leader is _Celandine____(Lyric's charrie)______, (with a potential to-be-determined co-leader in case of hiatuses)
Halite Wolves: White fur. They live in the north tundra where it snows, and build structures and sculptures out of halite, which is salt. They also trade salt to the Fern Wolves in exchange for the food mentioned, which is scarce where they live. They can cause snow storms or disappear inside them, with the help of special halite crystals that infuses them with magic. There are decoys of this. Their leader is __insert name______(Amethyst's charrie)___.
Eagles
Shadow Eagles: Dark and white feathered. They live in the mountains, where they receive messages from the Shadow Wolf they are telepathically linked to (link determined by if they were born on the same day), which they convey to other Shadow Eagles, who tell it to their wolves. They have the same magical abilities as the Shadow Wolves.
(I don’t remember if we agreed on Fern and Halite Eagles yet, hence the italics) Fern Eagles: Brown and white feathered. They live in the mountains near the forest and the tundra, and have the same magic sources and methods as the Fern Wolves. They aid Fern Wolves in delivering things around the forest, and are each telepathically linked with a Fern Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) but aren’t aware of it. They act as spies during the war.
Halite Eagles: White feathered. They live amongst the Halite Wolves, use and perform their magic. Each one is telepathically linked with a Halite Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) but isn’t aware of it. They act as spies during the war.
Foxes
Red Foxes: Exactly as the name sounds. They live in the forest and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Fern Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies (if they receive payment) and some of them have the magic abilities of the Fern Wolves and Eagles, depending on whether they use the magical flower or not.
Arctic Foxes: White fur. They live in the north tundra and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Halite Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies (if they receive payment) and some of them have the magic abilities of the Halite Wolves and Eagles, depending on if they use the halite crystals or not.
Black Foxes: I don’t know if the Shadow Wolves need these, because they have the Shadow Eagles already, but maybe they do, to even out the sides?
Plot Ideas:
1. Shadow Wolves plan to discover the other packs’ magic secrets, so they can control them. They communicate with each other by sending telepathic messages from wolf to eagle, then verbally from eagle to another eagle, and telepathically again from that eagle to another wolf. 2. Either the Fern Wolves foresee their plan and the dire consequences, the Halite Wolves hear the Shadow Eagles talking, or both discover the Shadow Wolves’ plan. The Shadow Wolves realize their plan is discovered and go into hiding in the mountains. 3. The Fern Wolves, Halite Wolves, and Shadow Wolves form alliances consisting of wolves, eagles, and a few foxes. They launch an attack on the Shadow Alliance, hoping to scatter them (not hurt them) and cause them to give up their mission of controlling the others. It doesn’t work. 4. ? 5. ? End: Wolves realize they’re better as one pack/are all the same.
Forms (no limit on number of charries):
Wolf
Name of charrie: Age (in months): Pronouns: Pack: Personality: Appearance: Magic (one speciality of their element, e.g. growing vines): Fears/Insecurities: Assertive, Aggressive, Passive, or Passive-Aggressive: Background: Shipping: Other:

AmethystParticipanthi!!!! :DYay I'm so glad to see you again!! I've missed you too :/
The list looks good! Hmm, teleportation/moving quickly should probably be just one thing to make things simpler ("moving quickly" would be, for example, being able to run extremely fast, but we can probably just have teleportation).
Shadow Wolves: All that should work! Probably they cause harm to the packs, are exiled to the mountains, and are either allowed to return or are simply forgotten about over the course of time. I think we'd originally said that the Fern/Halite wolves didn't see them as a separate kind of wolf to begin with, which might be good. Night vision is a good idea 🙂 Maybe for each pack there should be just one source of magic, or it might get a bit confusing? They could also each have a stone/flower/crystal, though.
Fern Wolves/Halite Wolves: Looks good!
Eagles and Foxes: I believe there are Halite and Fern Eagles, but when the RP starts, those two packs might not know about the telepathic connection between them and the Eagles, though they do speak the same language. That could eliminate the necessity of black foxes, since the already-discovered telepathy between Shadow Wolves and Eagles would give them an advantage over the other wolves. Eventually, though, all the wolves should certainly have a telepathic connection with an eagle.
Plot ideas: For discovering the Shadow Wolves' plan, maybe the Fern Wolves can foresee a danger to do with wolves, the Halite Wolves overhear the Shadow Wolves or Eagles talking, and the Fern Wolves realize that this is the danger they've been worried about. We still have to figure out how they all realize that they're fundamentally all just wolves… maybe the Shadow Alliance manages to steal (at least some of) the other Alliances' powers, but the other Alliances steal the Shadow Wolves' powers, so they realize that they'd basically be just like each other if they shared the same powers…? I'm not sure.
Other than that, looks great!! I think I'll call my charrie Moondrop.

wardrobe, spareroomHi Amethyst, happy summer break! How are you doing? What are you planning on doing this summer? I’m planning on writing (I never get sick of writing lol), reading, drawing, knitting, cooking, volunteering…basically everything I can’t do during the school year.
I think I’ll be a lot more active on CB in general now that my school to-do list is basically empty 🙂 Can’t guarantee what exactly is going to happen next school year though…so maybe it’s a good idea to get the RP going this summer (AAA SO EXCITING)…maybe before July, if that’s not too ambitious?
Which idea are we choosing for the Shadow Wolf backstory: the cause-harm-and-are-exiled one, or the were-living-in-pack-and-weren’t-seen-as-a-separate-kind-of-wolf to begin with? Does the second idea mean that the Shadow Wolves look the same as the Fern and Halite Wolves? I say this because if they do, then this reinforces the message of all wolves all being the same, but also could make it confusing when they start the civil (not violent) war, unless the wolves wear something to distinguish them (like a coat of arms sort of thing)?
I agree that it would get confusing if every wolf had a personal power source, and probably also easier to steal magic. Hmmm, perhaps if the leaders (our charries) made a list of charries in each pack (including Shadow Wolves at first…which could be how a power source gets stolen easily at the beginning of the “war”) and every 12 hours (or more or less than that), other charries could take turns to guard the source of magic for each pack, and somehow distributes it to each wolf as necessary?
Partially related, how many Fern Wolves do you think can be seers (and btw, would foretelling the future be their only power, or could they have plant magic as well? Is that too OP?) I was originally thinking just one seer…but that might be unfair to other players who want to be seers. At the same time, how would we write a prophecy/vision for another CBer’s charrie? Or would the CBer’s charrie write it?
Also partially related–perhaps we could add more powers to the Halite Wolves, like water or weather? Right now they seem like they don’t have as many powers as Fern and Shadow Wolves. Maybe to enhance the worldbuilding of their pack, we could also say, if it doesn’t sound too human-like (which it might), that they are architects and design buildings with ice, halite, and precious stones/metals (have you seen buildings made of ice? they are really, really, beautiful)…this would probably be a speciality of the Halite Wolves. Well, anyway, this is entirely up to you, because you are the leader of the Halite Wolves after all 🙂
As a confirmation, right now the animals I have on the list (besides wolves) are Halite, Fern, and Shadow Eagles and Red and Arctic Foxes. Are we good with that?
I like the new plot ideas! *adds them to list* Especially the all-the-alliances-steal-each-others-powers and things are about to get messy and then they realize they’re really the same pack, but are just living in different habitats.
Oh, and update: I tried doing the months thing for my charries, but it didn’t work because eagle and wolf years are measured differently. So 36 eagle months is equivalent to 10 human years, and 36 wolf months is equivalent to 27 human years, and so somehow if an adult wolf and an adult eagle are born at the same time, both would be 36 months old…but then somehow the eagle would be a kid/tween and the wolf would be an adult? Idk if that makes any sense (it doesn’t make much sense to me), but long story short, the age is extremely confusing, and it seems like the easy way out of that confusion is to write the age like we would with any human charrie, or to take out the age question on the form altogether.
I think the main things we need to do are finalizing powers/power sources and plot, then write the thread. For the instructions on the thread (and sorry if I’m getting too far ahead, but I’m going to forget this later if I don’t write it down), I think it might be best to make a brief, concise summary of everything (requirements, idea of the plot, characteristics of each wolf, etc) then make a more detailed summary later, because maybe then it will seem less long, and idk, sometimes I get intimidated by long stretches of text…
…And then start the RP after that, yayyyyy!!! (Well, I could technically get carried away by inventing a language and drawing maps and making government systems and laws and historical events…but as fun as that sounds, I don’t think it’d be fun to other CBers to have to keep all that into consideration when RPing, and so I won’t do that)
And here are my charrie forms.
Name of charrie: Celandine
Age: 36
Pronouns: she/her
Pack: Leader of the Fern Wolves
Personality: Motherly, protective, kind, tenderhearted, often gets in trouble for trying to see the good in everyone, attentive to the needs of the other Fern Wolves.
Appearance: Coat with similar coloration to an orange fox, amber eyes, wears a necklace made of strung together celandine flowers around her neck.
Magic (one speciality of their element, e.g. growing vines): Knows when deadly nightshade plants are growing, and where, and can reverse the effects of their poison.
Fears/Insecurities: Works hard to care for her pack and make sure it’s doing well, but worries that she’s not fit to be a leader.
Assertive, Aggressive, Passive, or Passive-Aggressive: Assertive.
Background: The leader before her had exiled the Shadow Wolves (if we’re going with that idea). She allowed them to return to the forest. Her rule has brought peace and equality to the forest, but she’s not entirely aware of this.
Shipping: N/A
Other: As a note, I might change this later, depending on if we change the plot more
Eagle (required for each wolf charrie) or Fox:
Name: Perennial
Age (in months): 36 months (3 eagle years, 10 human years)
Pronouns: he/him
Kind (Fern, Halite, or Shadow): Fern
Link (if eagle): Celandine.
Other: Monitors invasive plant species.

AmethystParticipantofc, Prof Kirke's house!Hello!! I've still got a couple of weeks of school to go, but I'm winding up :)) Other than that, I've been doing fine! I'm planning on doing a lot of reading and writing too, which is what I end up doing every summer (I wonder why romcoms actually do seem to be better if you read them in summer?), and probably going to libraries/parks in my area. Also a friend of my mom's is coming to visit!! She lives in a different country, and I've never seen her but I've heard a lot about her, so I'm excited for that.
I'm glad you can be around here more! I've missed reading you. EEEE GETTING THE RP STARTED SO VeRy EXCITING– I think we probably can launch it this month, and I'm looking forward so much to seeing it in action after planning it for so long :)))))
I was thinking that we could follow through with the idea that the Shadow Wolves had caused harm and been exiled long before in the wolves' history/were gradually allowed back to the packs as the wolves forgot about their exile/plot to overthrow the other wolves because of the supposed "wrong" in the past? I hope that's clear, and it might be a bit complicated, so if there's another idea I'm also up for it 🙂 If they look alike, it would definitely make the message clearer, but it might be stronger if they look different – as in, even though they're different in their appearance, they're the same fundamentally. And it would keep it simple to have them different… since the Shadow Wolves blend into the shadows, maybe they could be gray? This would be another reason for having the exile happen far in the past, if we're going with what I said above; the other packs would have to have forgotten by now that they're different, accepting that all wolves are white and gray and brown. Again, could be complicated, though…
Good idea about guarding the magic! For the Fern Wolves, perhaps we could have something like three/another small number of slots open for seer charries. I'm not sure if they could have plant powers too, though I imagine that all Fern Wolves would; maybe if their seeing power is very strong, they only have that power? Or we could have all seers have a limited amount of plant power. We should definitely write some prophecies ourselves – those from the past that foretell that the Shadow Wolves are going to take over – and then as the plot goes developing, other CBers' charries can foresee a couple of things. It's rather difficult to balance, though.
Water/weather would be great for the Halite Wolves. I think I've seen a couple of buildings made of ice, and yes, they're amazing 😀 It would be a bit difficult for wolves to build the houses themselves; maybe, though, they could set aside part of their magic for a day or two, which would then build houses/palaces. It would be so nice if they could have those 🙂
Yes, we're good with those animals 🙂
Oh, darn :/ I suppose we can just go with age in human years, then, especially since these are magical wolves/eagles after all.
I was thinking we could start it off with a fictional bit describing how the wolves are now (dramatic "But evil is still lurking among them") or maybe even a flashback to the exile of the Shadow Wolves (dramatic "But they would return") to make it more interesting? We should have a quick overview of the plot and characteristics of the pack. (Lol and I saw that you said on the typing game that "teh" was your most common typo, and it's mine too – I just made it twice XD) I think we should divide it up into sections to make it less overwhelming, and of course we can always post a more detailed description later as well 🙂
Eek the allure of worldbuilding 😀 I could literally worldbuild forever, but yeah, that would probably make it a bit too complicated, unfortunately…
I still haven't completely finished working on Moondrop, but I'll post my charrie forms in a day or two 🙂 This started out as just a vague idea, but it's been so so much fun to plan and I'm looking forward so much to launching it!!

AmethystParticipantAlso, forgot to add – I'd literally dreamed that you'd responded, and then I checked in the morning and you had :DD

AmethystParticipantBeruna's bridgeSorry, third comment in a row, but here are the charrie sheets 😀
Name: Moondrop
Age: 24 in human years (how much is that in wolf years? Oh dear, I'll have to do some research)
Pronouns: she/her
Pack: Leader of the Halite Wolves!!
Personality: Possibly a bit brash, ready to do anything for the Halite Wolves, loves the things her magic produces, can be a bit distant (especially to strangers), but warm to the multiple wolves she trusts/likes; usually reacts well in situations that require quick thinking, but isn't so good at planning in the long term.
Appearance: Silvery-white, thick fur; brown eyes; not especially large
Magic (one speciality of their element, e.g. growing vines): Her specialty is manipulating water, and she's not bad at creating – eek what are those things called that are like landslides but snow instead of land?? Oh right avalanches 😛
Fears/Insecurities: Worries that something will happen to her pack, and that her ideas aren't as good as they seem to her.
Assertive, Aggressive, Passive, or Passive-Aggressive: Probably assertive
Background: She's one of the youngest daughters of the previous leader of the Halite Wolves, and has been leading for several years now. She's a good leader, and feels fairly confident about her role.
Shipping: Open, with male wolves
Other: n/a, except that I might change this a bit too
Eagle (required for each wolf charrie) or Fox:
Name: Crystal
Age: Theoretically Moondrop's age, if they're born at the same time; I'll have to update this when we decide what to do about age
Pronouns: she/her
Kind (Fern, Halite, or Shadow): Halite
Link (if eagle): Moondrop
Other: She's Moondrop's mentor in several ways
I might also add a fox charrie later, but these are my main ones 🙂 Celandine and Perennial look wonderful, and I love their names!!

LyricParticipant:D
a sea in NarniaWow, you dreamed I responded the night after I did? Talk about a dream come true lol
All of those things sound fun 🙂 I wonder why romcoms would seem better…I haven’t read much of them, so I have no idea. Now that I’m thinking of it, I’ve mainly read fantasy and historical fiction (as well as too much fairy/folk tales), but I’ve been developing an unprecedented appetite for poetry, adult nonfiction, and adult short stories. What do you like to read?
I’m going to be out of town starting Tuesday, so I don’t think we can start the RP until June 25th. We’ll probably post it under the name (and I tested them; they fit in the name box hooray!) Celandine & Moondrop…or Moondrop & Celandine…(which one?). I'm going to finalize the list then post it here (so we can make any last edits to the RP), as well as work on the introductory post as much as I can this weekend (more details in the paragraph on that) to get all ready for the grand posting (like grand opening, but grand posting XD…I think that's sort of funny).
Okay! So the Shadow Wolves were exiled a long while back, eventually everyone forgot what they did and let them return. And then maybe one day one Shadow Wolf is bitter about the past and decides to try to take over everyone’s magic and teach the other wolves a lesson?
Sounds good! I really like the idea that the seers only have one power if their seeing power is strong, but just in case that requires extra explanation and someone skips reading that (I’m guilty of skimming words when instructions are really long…), I think I’ll simplify the seer magic and edit the Magic question on the form to “Magic (one speciality of their element such as growing vines, or if they are a Seer, fortune telling, in which case their element power cannot be very powerful):”
Perfect! *adds powers to list*
Yes we can definitely start with the dramatic fictional movie-preview type of intro! …Unrelated, but I’ve noticed that movie trailers usually play the same kind of music and there’s usually a lot of drumming in the background and it seems like the narrative voice always sounds the same (“In theaters, July 15th”…*cue more dramatic drumming sounds*)…almost like they’re the same person for every trailer. aNyWaYs, to go back on topic…how shall we divide the writing of the introduction? I’m interested in writing a quick summary of how the wolf-world works (e.g. trading, potion making, ice buildings) and maybe some guidelines/rules (I think the rules are basically the typical one of no OP charries, only three Fern Wolves can be seers and they can’t have really powerful element magic, an eagle charrie must be created for each wolf charrie, the most active Shadow Wolf charrie gets to be the Shadow Wolf leader, and every twelve hours or something like that the wolves will take turns guarding their packs’ power sources–plural, because they’re also guarding the decoys!) But if you want to write those, I can definitely write a different part of the introduction 🙂 Later, we can also write any extra explanations (such as posting schedules for which charries are guarding the power sources at what times in the RP and what direction the plot’s going in…well, actually, we could just have our charries hold meetings and discuss plans) (Charries keeps wanting to autocorrect to cherries XD)
Lol yes the “teh” typo is really common…and also “fo” (but for some reason I never type “ro” or “ot” or any other two-word typo…hmmm)
I like Moondrop’s personality 😀 She seems like a round character and–I was about to say nuanced but idk what nuanced means exactly…(it’s just such a pretty word and just seems to match perfectly with Moondrop…oddly…)
And…I think these are the finalized forms? (I changed the examples for magic and added it to the eagle and fox forms too as an optional choice–)

AmethystParticipantCauldron PoolLol yes 🙂
I think maybe it's because romcoms are very light reading and are usually set in warm, nice places so you feel more like reading them when it's summer? I started reading them last year, and ever since then I've been on the hunt for good ones. I also like historical fiction (especially if it's set in about the 1800s back) and fantasy, and poetry ofc 😀 I've found a couple of really good historical fiction writers, but I've read almost all their books, and it seems difficult to find more :/ Modern fantasy often seems to dwell a lot on violence/gore, so I stick more to older fantasy, but I'm running out of that too… which is sad because I love love love it. Also I get the feeling that nowadays it all seems to go along the same lines – about a person who goes to an academy in a fantasy land to develop powers, or a forbidden magician, or a "cruel empire" which a lone person is battling (or possibly he/she's going along with the system, which is worse), or possibly if we're being innovative it's about dragons… I could be completely wrong, but those seem to be the trend. Which is why I love books like the CofN 🙂
Anyway, that turned into a loooong ramble, help. Poetry – yes I love poetry :)) I think actually some of the best poetry I've ever read has been here on the CB; I lOVE peppermint's and pangolin's, and Artemis had some wonderful poems (though I didn't read that many of hers, I think). I've read some fairy/folk tales, but lately not so many… are there any especially good ones?
All right, hope you have fun! Yayy it fits!! I'd go for Celandine & Moondrop, but however you like :] Yes grand posting XD
Great! That would make it easier for the Halite Wolves to overhear the planning of the Shadow Wolves as well – they could hear some (already convinced) Shadows trying to convince others that they should covertly take over the other wolves' magic. Not that I imagine the Shadow Wolves will need much convincing…
All right, wonderful 🙂
You're right, movie trailers do share that a startling amount of the time. Maybe there's one person who goes about saying dramatic things for all trailers XD Great! You're very good at worldbuilding/all that, so it would be wonderful if you could write those 😀 I suppose we'll have to choose the Shadow Wolf leader, since otherwise it might be a bit difficult. It shouldn't affect the plot that there isn't an established leader at the beginning, as they won't really have a leader at first. I could probably write the dramatic-movie-intro if you'd like (though totally fine if you want to write it) Also, I think we should probably call it something like "Magic Wolf RP" so that it will appear as that on Inkwell? (Also, I suppose we are posting it on Inkwell? Just making sure 🙂 ) Discussions/planning of our charries should work well! Lol charries/cherries… that's hilarious XD (imagine "We could have our cherries discussing plans" etc XD)
Hmm, highly suspicious… I hardly ever type "fo", though, oddly. Though actually now that I think about it, I believe I used to do it a lot?
Ty! Actually, nuanced does sound like her…
Looks good!! Except what are we doing about age…?
Oh, and one last thing (after TWO one-line paragraphs, shriek where's my writing got to??): should we start off the RP with a couple of prophecies that we've written, or should we write them as the plot progresses? Honestly, I would never have guessed that there was so much planning to an RP :DD
-
LyricParticipant:)
busyHi! I'll be back with a longer comment later (right now I have to pack and then volunteer for two hours, so today's a little busy), but just to answer all RP questions so we have a better idea of what to write for the intro, I'm going to briefly address these now, and also post the list. I'll probably be checking this thread while I'm traveling.
Yes, it will be in Inkwell (do you want to post it after we put the intro together?), and yes, we can call it Magic Wolf RP. I'll write the little worldbuilding details, how the RP works, and generally the instruction manuals for the RP (and after the intro's posted, we'll probably post our charrie forms on the thread). Are you writing the characteristics of the wolves?
Oh! I forgot to change the age in months thing on the form…for age, I think we're just assuming the animals have the same age system as humans do, because that's easier.
And as for prophecies…yes, we can do a (maybe?) very cryptic prophecy (I think it might be difficult to write more than one prophecy) about the Shadow Wolves (cryptic as in the type with a very vague idea about what the prophecy is actually saying). I'm not sure how we write a prophecy collaboratively though…maybe we each write one separately and then see what elements we like from both?
Okay, now the list! (sorry if this is a looooong comment to read). I think this has all of the final ideas (and it might be helpful to have something to reference when we're writing the intro). Let me know if there's something that needs to be taken out or added 🙂 AAA we're actually starting soon…wow, there has been so much planning to this, but it's so exciting to be this close to starting that I'm having trouble believing it, and keep on being shocked when I realize we are, in fact, starting it 😀 😀
Magic Ideas:
All animals can turn invisible for a short time and teleport. Magical powers have to be used in moderation, or else they run out.
Each pack has a power source and several decoys of them. The animals take turns guarding them, and every 12 hours they switch off according to a schedule the leader of the pack has posted.
The magic of each wolf depends on the individual. There is no wolf who has all plant magic, all weather magic, or all shadow magic. Instead, their powers are, for example, causing a certain species of tree to bear another kind of fruit besides its own, causing a certain type of cloud to appear, or causing a certain type of rock to appear.
Packs
Shadow Wolves: Dark gray fur. They live in both the forest and the tundra. Ages ago they were exiled to the mountains for causing harm to the other packs, then, when the other packs were under different leadership and completely forgot what they did, allowed to return. They have good night vision. Their magical abilities include camouflaging into shadows and manipulating rocks and stone with telekinesis. A piece of magic-infused obsidian gives them these powers. Each Shadow Wolf is telepathically linked with a Shadow Eagle and are secretly keeping in touch with their entire pack by sending telepathic messages to their eagles who can then communicate with other eagles telepathically connected to other wolves, because they speak the same language. Together they are planning to overthrow the other packs by stealing their magic. Their leader is ______(ask active CBer of a shadow wolf charrie to be the leader)_____.
Fern Wolves: Brown fur. They live in the forest in dens hidden by ferns. The ferns were originally an adaptation to needing to defend their wolf cubs, but the habit stuck. The wolves eat ferns, as well as mushrooms, vegetables, fruit, and nuts. A rare flower is their power source, and gives them magic (e.g. growing a certain species of vine supernaturally quickly). Later, there are harmless decoys of these flowers made. Three of the wolves (no more) are seers who can see the future and write prophecies. They make various potions—usually for recovering health or strength—from plants they find in the forest. Their leader is Celandine (with a potential to-be-determined co-leader in case of hiatuses)
Halite Wolves: White fur. They live in the north tundra where it snows. They trade salt to the Fern Wolves in exchange for food, which is scarce where they live. Their magic source is a halite crystal that gives them water, weather and snow magic (e.g. causing or disappearing inside snow storms). Once in a while, set aside their magic for two days in order to build houses and palaces out of ice. There are some decoys of the crystal. Their leader is Moondrop.
Fern Eagles: Brown and white feathered. They live in the mountains near the forest and the tundra, and have the same magic sources and methods as the Fern Wolves. They aid Fern Wolves in delivering things around the forest, speak the same language, and are each telepathically linked with a Fern Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) although they don’t know they have this ability. They act as spies during the war.
Halite Eagles: White feathered. They live amongst the Halite Wolves, use and perform their magic. Each one is telepathically linked with a Halite Wolf (link determined by if they were born on the same day) although they don’t know they have this ability. They act as spies during the war.
Foxes
Red Foxes: Exactly as the name sounds. They live in the forest and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Fern Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies.
Arctic Foxes: White fur. They live in the north tundra and don’t really consider themselves as allies of the Halite Wolves and Eagles. Some can be persuaded to be spies.
Plot Ideas:
1. The Shadow Wolves plan to discover the other packs’ magic secrets, so they can control them. They communicate with each other by sending telepathic messages from wolf to eagle, then verbally from eagle to another eagle, and telepathically again from that eagle to another wolf. 2. The Fern Wolves foresee danger, shortly after which the Halite Wolves hear the Shadow Eagles trying to get other Shadow Wolves to agree with their plan to take over the magic of the other packs. The Fern Wolves realize this is the danger they had foresaw. 4. ? 5. ? End: Eventually, when all packs get a hold of each other’s magic, they realize they’re better as one pack, and are all the same.

King Lune's palaceThat's fine 🙂 Hope you have a great trip! Also I saw your post on Random Thoughts saying that you had tests… how've they been going? I hope well – sending you virtual positivitea and hugs <3
Yes, we should probably put the intro together here and then post the whole thing; would you mind doing that? The format comes out terrible if I copy paste on the computer I usually use for the CB (it's very old) :/ I can write the characteristics.
All right, perfect! Maybe we'd better specify on the forms that the eagles will be the same age as the wolves they're linked to.
Yess a vague prophecy 😀 We could each write one, or we could go line-by-line (you write a line, I write the next, you write the next, etc.), or take elements from two different ones as you suggested.
Don't worry, I love long comments! I know, I'm also still not fully getting the idea that it's actually about to be started shriekkk :DDD
Magic ideas: Looks good!
Packs: See above
Eagles/foxes: Also great 🙂
Plot ideas: Pretty good! We should probably leave potential 4 and 5 open for plot ideas that other CBers contribute.
Forms: Yesss 🙂
Here's a touched-up version of Moondrop's form (also hopefully the final version):
Name of charrie: Moondrop
Age: 24

Personality: Can be slightly brash, can be a bit distant (especially to strangers), but warm to her pack and especially to the wolves she's very close to; usually reacts well in situations that require quick thinking, but not so good at planning in the long term; ready to do anything for the Halite Wolves.
Appearance: Small, moves quickly, has thick silvery-white fur and brown eyes
Magic (one speciality of their element such as growing vines, or if they are a Seer, fortune telling, in which case their element power cannot be very powerful): Manipulating water; can also create avalanches
Fears/Insecurites: Worries that something will happen to her pack and that she isn't doing all she should for it, and is afraid that her ideas aren't as good as they seem to her.
Assertive, Aggressive, Passive, or Passive-Agressive: Assertive
Background: She's one of the youngest daughters of the previous leader of the Halite Wolves, and has been leading for several years now. She's a good leader, and is getting used to her role; she relies on Crystal to help her out and mentor her in several things.

And Crystal is also 24.
Whee I'm so excited 😀

TiredI haven't finished my part of the intro post yet, but i did finish a draft of the prophecy. However, I think it might be easier to write line by line (or if you wrote it by yourself), because seriously I have been working on the prophecy for four days and now that I finally got a complete draft that's been scrutinized and revised almost to death, I realized that the last two lines aren't even going to happen in the RP because that's leaning towards a violent or dark war. I could scrutinize and revise it more, but idk how long that'd take. Oh, and judging from the amount of time i devoted to rhymes, the taking elements from each poem thing might not work (for some reason I didn't think of that before :/ ) so I think either only one of us writes the prophecy or we go line by line. What do you think?
…well, here's the prophecy i made up (cries and threes are slant rhymes), so maybe you can see what I was talking about (I might attempt to revise it though)
Should mountains ring with silent cries,
wounds fester in this cornerstone
and fissure it in twos, in threes,
then if one falls, it falls alone
and all will bear the gnawing of remorse.
(Once again, I'll be back with longer comments soon…this comment is just for addressing the prophecy poem)

Narnia in generalHere's the intro draft!
Magic Wolf RP
[insert story introduction]
-Animal Characteristics-
[insert Animal Characteristics]
-Some Important Worldbuilding Notes to Read-
General Geography:
From north to south, the world consists of the tundra where Halite Wolves, Halite Eagles, Arctic Foxes, and some Shadow Wolves live, the mountains where the Shadow Eagles live (and later in the RP, the Shadow Wolves) live, and the forest where Fern Wolves, Fern Eagles, Red Foxes, and some Shadow Wolves live.
Wolf and Animal Organization:
The two main packs are the Halite and Fern Wolves/Eagles/Foxes, who are led by Moondrop and Celandine and their eagles, respectively. The Shadow Wolves live scattered among these two packs and don’t have a leader. Eventually, they will (see Rules and Guidelines for more).
Magic:
–Power Sources
A Power Source is a special object that gives magical powers to any animal who uses it. The Fern Power Source is a rare flower, the Halite Power Source is a special halite crystal, and the Shadow Power Source is a piece of obsidian. There is one Power Source for each pack as well as useless decoys of it. These are all guarded carefully.
-Powers
All animals can turn invisible for a short time and teleport. Wolves, and sometimes eagles and foxes as well, receive special plant, weather, or shadow powers from their pack’s Power Source. Plant magic includes growth, destruction, or plant-potion powers. An example of this is the ability to cause a tree to bear another kind of fruit besides its own. Weather magic includes manipulating water, weather, and snow. An example of this is the ability to cause a certain type of cloud to appear or disappear. Shadow magic includes manipulating rocks and stone, and camoflauging in shadows. An example of this is the ability to temporarily blind an animal by throwing a shadow over their eyes. No animal has all plant, weather, or shadow magic possible. If they use their powers too much and run out, they will not be able to use magic until they receive more from their pack’s Power Source.
-Special Powers
-If any Halite Wolf sets aside their magic for two days, they are able to build buildings made of ice. Three Fern Wolves do not have plant magic. They are seers instead and can see the future.
-Telepathy
Each Wolf is able to communicate telepathically with the Eagle of their element who was born on the same day as them. However, only the Shadow Wolves and Shadow Eagles know they can do this. The others have not discovered this trick yet.
Trading:
Food is scarce in the tundra, so the Halite Wolves trade salt (halite) to the Fern Wolves in exchange for food.
-Rules, Guidelines, and Role-Playing Info
1. No OP charries, please. If your charrie has all, for example, shadow-related magic, we will ask you to choose one specialty.
2. Please don't control other CBer's charries too much!
3. For each Wolf charrie you make, you must make an Eagle charrie who is the same age and the same element.
4. There are three Fern Wolves seers and can see the future. They don't have any other magic.
5. There isn't a Shadow Wolf leader yet. If you have an active Shadow Wolf charrie, we will likely ask you to lead.
6. Every 12 hours, the wolves will take turns guarding the Power Source and decoys. We will post a schedule before we start the RP.
7. We are two CBers writing under pen names. Feel free to guess us!
8. If you have any questions, we suggest reading through everything we wrote above. If you still have questions after that, please ask us.

AmethystParticipanta train stationIf we go line by line with the prophecy, maybe we could still make it
rhyme…? I love yours, it's very prophecy-ish; I think the last lines
might not affect it too much, since it doesn't actually say that any of
the Alliances will fall (just a warning that none of them should and that a dark/violent war wouldn't be good), but I
do see your point… I wrote two possible ones, but the first one
doesn't predict much, and the second one might be a bit too obvious
(also I think "the shadows" in the first one should be replaced with
"the darkness", because otherwise it's also a bit obvious):One broken wing can stop the siblings' flight
Far from you, the shadows are/the darkness is growing strong
The three as one must stay with what is right
Even if no one's sure just what is wrong…
Two divided into threes
Messages that no one sees
To survive in the long run
Three must unite and just be one
Yes
I can rhyme if I want to, though lately I've been doing almost
completely non-rhyming poetry >:) Anyway, I could work on another one or
we could do one line by line, but these are possibilites. The
intro draft is looking wonderful!! Not too complicated, luckily :>
I'm not too happy yet with the story introduction, but here's a draft:Far
away from the lands known today, there was a world where magic was
everywhere. The magic of three packs, three groups of proud wolves who
lived together in peace and friendship. There were the Halite Wolves,
rulers of the ice; the Fern Wolves, rulers of the forest; and the Shadow
Wolves, who possessed the devious powers of the night. Three packs,
like three siblings: seldom disagreeing, living together, sharing what
they had.But thunder was building up in the mountains. A storm
was coming – maybe more than one – that could split the wolves apart, or
maybe keep them together. The Shadow Wolves proved that they didn't
belong to the sunlit world of the other wolves, and the packs cast them out. On a stormy night, the gray wolves left, leaving vague threats in
the thunder still rumbling in the sky. They would return.
The storm was not yet over.
And here are the animal characteristics:
Wolves:
None of the wolves hunt animals for meat. All wolves, eagles, and foxes have the same language.
-Fern Wolves
The Fern Wolves have brown fur and live in the forest, which supplies them with everything they need. They eat ferns, mushrooms, vegetables, fruits, and nuts which they forage for, and which they trade to the Halite Wolves (see Trading). They also make potions from forest plants, which are generally used to help them gain health or strength. They live in dens, which they hide with ferns; this used to be because of the vulnerability of their cubs, but they continue doing it despite no longer needing to.
-Halite Wolves
The Halite Wolves have white fur and live in the tundra. They construct palaces and dwellings of ice using their magic (see Special Powers). They eat the same food as the Fern Wolves (see Trading).
-Shadow Wolves
The Shadow Wolves have gray fur, and live in the tundra and the forest, as part of Celandine and Moondrop's packs. Except for having different magic and different-colored fur, they aren't noticeably different from the other wolves.
Eagles:
-Fern Eagles
They have brown and white feathers, and live close to the Fern Wolves. They have the same magic as the Fern Wolves, and are friendly with them, helping them in small ways (e.g. transporting materials for them).
-Halite Eagles
They have white feathers, and live among the Halite Wolves, sharing their magic. They also help each other (e.g. the eagles transport materials and help to watch over wolf cubs).
-Shadow Eagles
They have dark and white feathers, and live in the mountains, sharing the Shadow Wolves' magic. Each Shadow Eagle is telepathically linked to a Shadow Wolf (see Telepathy), and are their constant allies.
Foxes:
Red foxes have red fur and live in the forest, while Arctic foxes have white fur and live in the tundra. They aren't enemies of the Fern and Halite Wolves, but don't think of themselves as their helpers or allies either. However, they may be able to give the wolves valuable help later in the RP.
Also, maybe we should put in a brief history after the story introduction? Just something brief, like:
-History-
Years ago, the Shadow Wolves lived among the other wolves. However, they were exiled to the mountains for (plotting against the other wolves/or whatever we decide). Years later, the Fern and Halite Wolves no longer remembered what had happened, and the Shadow Wolves came back and mingled among the other wolves again.
Or I could weave that into my story introduction, or we could leave it out 🙂

AmethystParticipantNoooo what happened to the format :{

LyricParticipant:D
somewhere in NarniaI really like your poems 🙂 (both these ones, and the ones I see you write for the Poetry Contest) And yeah, I've also been turning towards free verse/non-rhyming poetry just because it's easier and more…well, free.
I particularly like the first poem prophecy you wrote–I LOVE the first line so much it's beautiful–I don't think any changes are necessary at all, but if you wanted, we could change "can stop" to "cut short", and reword the second line to "Afar, long-wounded darkness rises, strong"
Idk, I just like playing around with iambic pentameter…these are just suggestions. (no pressure about accepting my suggestions or anything like that!) I think it'd be easier not to write a new poem line by line, and use the first prophecy you wrote instead? (probably somewhere in the intro, or we could do a new -section- for it.
I love the story intro so far, and the characteristics look good 😀
Oh yes, let's do history! I think it would work equally well in the story intro and as a section, so it's up to you 🙂
AAAAAA SO EXCITING AAAA I think I keep saying this but I'm just so excited to post the RP (all this work and planning and worldbuilding and now we're actually writing the intro and AAA I can't stop being excited!!! Tysm for asking me to work on this back in September! 😀 It's been so fun, and I've really been enjoying making the RP with you :D)
-
AmethystParticipantthe River RushTy! And yes, non-rhyming poetry gives so much more space to explore and improvise; rhyming poetry is great, but definitely more restricted.
Aww thanks 🙂 And wait whoa what it's in iambic pentameter (well, partly)?? I hadn't even noticed lol… all that analyzing Shakespeare in school seems to have paid off. How about this for the final prophecy?
One broken wing can stop the sibling's flight
And far from you, the dark grows daily strong
The three as one must stay with what is right
Even if no one's sure just what is wrong…
Maybe we could do a new -section-? I mean, who can resist 🙂
I think we should do history as a new section too – I'm not sure how well I could weave it into the intro.
I know, I'm also soooooo excited… I mean, we might actually have other CBers' charries participating?? And everything will actually be put into action?? It's so excitinggg to be on the brink of lAuNcHiNg this 😀 You're welcome, I think you've really made this much deeper than it would have been otherwise – it was just a vague idea I had (as in, "ooh wouldn't it be fun to do a Magic Wolf RP? Hmmm") but it's become so complex and amazing… it's been wonderful to work on it with you :)) I'll post a polished-up version of the story intro soon.
So as I said on Random Thoughts, I have been kind of sad since my grandfather died, but I do want to continue with this/launch the RP; it's been so wonderful chatting with you, and planning the RP ofc <3 Also, there are more than a hundred comments on this thread!! *confetti*

Fords of BerunaBack to long comments 😀 (aka. long ramble about historical fiction, fantasy, poetry, fairy-tales, and our RP, but mostly fairy-tales for some reason. I’m feeling extra chatty right now XD)
I love historical fiction but am also running out…It’s very likely you have, but have you read the books of *quickly jumps out of chair to fetch historical fiction books from the shelf* Elizabeth George Speare, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Scott O'Dell, Mari Hanes and…there are some authors I’m forgetting. Every time I go to the library I scan the shelves for books with historical fiction labels but usually I don’t find any good ones :/ Oh no…modern fantasy…I haven't seen so much of the violence/blood part, but I agree with you! It seems like all the original trends and plot ideas are used up and every modern fantasy book I've read is sadly cliche (and yet somehow it seems that fantasy books are taking over the book market) Eek the academy thing, and the “Chosen One” thing :/ Even the topic of dragons is starting to get worn out *sighs* Do you have any older fantasy books you would recommend, besides CoN and The Hobbit/oh help I’m forgetting the name…oh, that’s right, it’s called the Lord of the Rings (not sure how I forgot 😮 ). (But to go off topic for a brief second…I love the worldbuilding in Lothlorien 😀 )
I also love poetry 🙂 Although a lot of times it’s so dIfFiCuLt to understand…there was this one poem (I think it was satirical) that I was reading over and over and over trying to find it’s hidden significance…and finally I found about half of that. (There's a website that organizes poems by author, and there’s poems of the day and analyzations on them and magazines and whatnot) I haven’t ventured too much onto the Poetry Contest Thread so I haven’t seen most CB poems (when I do ghost around there, I usually think about entering. That’s sort of tricky because I have difficulty writing under pressure, and if a certain rhyme or topic won’t work, I just have to drop the poem. Also, I struggle to write anything happy…I’m planning to experiment with being more optimistic. Do you have any tips for that? I’ve noticed you and Poinsettia write really happy, positive stories…I’m not sure how you do it)
There are a LOT of fairy/folk tales, so I’ll just recommend books with large collections of them. One Thousand and One Arabian Nights by Geraldine McCaughrean is the most well-written (it’s beautiful to read) fairy/folk tale book I’ve read. The premise can be a little dark/disturbing, though (the narrator’s life is continually in danger, so…). The only stories that are on the violent/bloody side (no gore/grisly descriptions though) are The Wonderful Tale of Ali Baba and the Forty Bandits and maybe The Tale of Ala al-Din and his Wonderful Lamp (Basically Aladdin. I’m looking for one part in it specifically but can’t find it :/), but I don’t know what level of violence/blood would be too much, so idk if there are more stories I should warn against or not (if later you want to read the book, I could do a deeper scan). Also, there are the [insert color, e.g. blue, green, red, rainbow, etc.) Fairy Books by Andrew Lang, which are collections of fairy/folk tales from around the world (I think…not sure tho). I have an out-of-print copy of the Blue Fairy Book, which I think is good, but I don’t know how easy the stories would be to find :/ Hans Christian Andersen’s stories are also excellent–I read a collection of them before, and I love how he personifies objects 🙂
Sounds good 🙂 Eek analyzing Shakespeare…I haven't read much Shakespeare (unless you count abridged versions and a Romeo and Juliet audiobook that is one of the only audiobooks we have hehe). Yes, I think right now the first three lines of the prophecy are in iambic pentameter. And sure, let's make a new -section- for the prophecy (I’m going to put it right after our intro, unless you think it should go somewhere else) 🙂
Okay, history will be a section then (I'll put it before or after -General Geography in the intro). Do you want to write it, or do you want me to?
Oh! Thank you…I was a little worried I was making it too complex…Lol I remember when we first started planning for the RP I said I could help a little bit, but not too much…I think sometimes between then and now I got carried away 😀
Yeah, I’m taking practice SAT tests every Monday or Tuesday now and doing practice test questions every weekday :/ They’ve been going ok…I started doing harder questions recently, and after that is even harder…eek. But I think it will pay off eventually…
😀 wow over a 100 comments! *throws 0s and 1s and little squiggly confetti that are supposed to be commas* 😀
I’ve been praying for you and Poinsettia and your family, for peace and solace and healing <3

AmethystParticipantriding on FledgeYayy, long comments forever 😀
Ooh yes Elizabeth George Speare!! I love her books, especially The Witch of Blackbird Pond and The Bronze Bow – I wish she'd written more books :)) She's such a good writer, and she usually gets very fully into the spirit of whichever era she's writing about. Her characters are also amazing… I've read several of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books too, which are always good reads. I've never tried Scott O'Dell or Mari Hanes, though, so I'll have to look into them! I'd recommend a couple of books of Rosemary Sutcliff (although she tends to go into violence too), especially The Eagle of the Ninth – slightly violent, but it's utterly well-written and it sweeps you straight into it. It's set in Britain during the time Rome was in power there. I'm not sure how easy it would be to find, though :/ Also Eloise Jarvis McGraw (a bit like Speare, though she also tends to get slightly violent) and Elizabeth Janet Gray. Argh yes even dragons are no longer what they used to be… And I don't know why there are so many cliches in fantasy in particular, because it's theoretically a genre that allows for sO mUcH variety – you don't even have the limits of "but that couldn't happen in real life", since literally anything can happen. Well, CoN and Tolkien are my go-to recommendations (at least The Hobbit; I haven't read LotR yet, so that's something very exciting that I have to look forward to :D) But other than those, there's Time at the Top by Edward Ormondroyd – strictly speaking it's fantasy and historical fiction mixed, but the whole book has a very fantasy-ish feel and it's a super fun read (oh and I'm so happy that my review for it came out in Cricket Readers Recommend!! yayyyyy :] ) There's also Momo by Michael Ende, which is fantasy combined with realistic fiction, and it's thought-provoking and inspiring and very very well-written, and you absolutely fall in love with all the characters. I think Michael Ende is better known for The Never-Ending Story, which I also read once, but frankly it isn't at all as good as Momo – it doesn't seem to have much point, and it's kind of dense without going anywhere, but it is very much in the fantasy genre so you could always give it a try if you wanted to. My other go-to rec is The Search for Delicious by Natalie Babbitt, which is firmly fantasy and just a light, very nice read. I'll probably come up with more later 😛
Yes, poetry can be dense… some of the poems I love most are ones that just paint an image or an idea without going too extremely deep. Ooh, that website sounds lovely 😀 Yes, a lot of times I'm interested in the prompts on the Poetry Contest but I don't manage to come up with an idea for a poem in time, so I end up letting it drop. Actually I'm not sure how I do it either XD Maybe I'd just say think of a beautiful image, or of something that makes you happy, and write a poem around that? Basically try to encapsulate a happy feeling/place/etc. Again, I might come up with something more later.
Ooh all right, I'd heard of the Arabian Nights but I've never read that version… oh no gore, good :> I've also heard of the Andrew Lang fairy tales, but I'd never given them a try. Oh and ofc Andersen, I've read some of his – I should probably go back and reread some of them, though 🙂
I've read some of Shakespeare's sonnets and one or two of his plays – I'm honestly looking forward to reading Romeo and Juliet eventually, because after all it's a cLaSsIc and everyone says it's beautiful. Yes a new -section-!! After the intro sounds great.
I can write the History if you'd like (just probably tomorrow – I'll also brush up the story intro very soon), but you're also welcome to! Well, I may have gotten carried away too 🙂 (And I think I got carried away in this comment, it seems to have gotten very long :0)
Eek, good luck with the tests! I imagine it will pay off, though…
Squee we're into the hundreds!!! *throws more squiggly confetti* :DD
Aww, thank you so so much <33 It honestly means so much to me that we're (virtual) "friends", and I'm always here to support you too if you need it <3

AmethystParticipantCharnA polished-up intro:
Long ago and far away, magic dominated a golden land; the magic of three groups of proud wolves, who lived together in peace and friendship. There were the Halite Wolves, rulers of the ice. There were the Fern Wolves, rulers of the forest. And there were the Shadow Wolves, who possessed the uncertain powers of the night. They were like three siblings, sharing what they had, sharing their lives.
But thunder was building up in the mountains. Flashes of warning lightning were already flickering over the packs. A storm was coming, possibly more than one, that could split the wolves apart, or possibly keep them together. The Shadow Wolves were darker than the other wolves and undisputedly different, and the packs cast them out. The gray wolves fled, and the other wolves were rid of them, waiting for daybreak.
But the shadows are known to keep away daybreak. There was still a vague threat in the thunder clouding the sky.
The Shadow Wolves would return.
The storm was not yet over.
And I can add the History if you don't want to write it 🙂
-
LyricParticipanttIrEdOoh I like the intro! (is that the final one?)
Yes, sure, could you write the History? I have a ton of things piled on my to-do list, so I think it would get written sooner if you wrote it XD
Charn…hm…which CoN book is that from?
-
AmethystParticipantI think it's the final one, yeah 🙂 Here's the history, tell me if there's anything you think should be changed:
-History-
Once, the Shadow Wolves lived as part of the two other packs. However, they plotted against the other wolves, and when their plan was discovered they were exiled to the mountains. For years they stayed there, but at long last the Fern and Halite Wolves forgot what had happened, and the Shadow Wolves gradually returned. At the present time, no one – except the Shadow Wolves – remember that the Shadow Wolves were ever separate from the other two packs. The Shadow Wolves, however, are still bitter about it.
Charn is from The Magician's Nephew 🙂 It's the city Jadis comes from (which I currently remember about because I'm rereading TM'sN for at least the tenth time XD)
-
LyricParticipantO o O
age supposed to be a faceOhhh that's right…I think I've only read the Magician's Nephew at most three times (not sure why, but it's the one I've read the least), so I didn't remember lol
I think if everything is ready to post, I'll post it today or tomorrow at latest? (we're calling it Magic Wolf RP, right?)
AAA WE'RE ACTUALLY STARTING 😮 😮 😀 😀
Nya is excited too <kuboo> (or it least that sounds excited hehe)
-
LyricParticipant:D
JellyfishOh, and also I just realized that this thread is on the page of This Month for most replies 😮
-
AmethystParticipanta part of NarniaI don't think The Magician's Nephew is my favorite Chronicle… it does have some good place names, though 😀
Today or tomorrow???!?!? WE'RE STARTING WOOOOOO :0000 For ages I've been thinking "whoa we're almost ready to launch it", but we're actually going to????? Yep, I think Magic Wolf RP :DDD Origami says "ghenu" which is more noncommital…
Yay Songbird Group forever *throws confetti and balloons (there are a lot of those on this thread 🙂 )*
-
LyricParticipantOk, POSTING NOW!!! :D -
AmethystParticipantSHRIEK :DDDD -
LyricParticipant:D
JellyfishEEEEE the RP was posted five days before this so this is sort of late but…
*throws wolf and eagle and fox shaped confetti*
😀
I…just realized I forgot to put the prophecy in the intro (*giggles sheepishly*)…so, what if during the RP, before the "war" starts, one of us finds the prophecy carved on a piece of stone and realizes that it has been buried under ice or dirt or plants for ages long but not what it means exactly?
The RP thread is looking a little bit quiet right now…I think tomorrow I'll add a comment as Celandine and roleplay a little bit (but not in usual story-RP format…just casually, without plot) to liven it up. I might also make another charrie under my usual CB name, so that there are more animals 😀
-
AmethystParticipantNarnia or
Archenland or somewhereEeee yes I'm late too but never mind 😀 *throws Wolf RP-themed confetti too and RP-themed eco-friendly balloons*
Don't worry, the intro was vErY long… it came out great anyway 🙂 Finding the prophecy would be great! Besides, then our charries can discuss it with a proper reason for doing so. Whee roleplaying!! Maybe I should do that too… also, I imagine it's all right that Celine's charrie has plant magic, since she asked if it was too OP? And I was thinking of making a fox charrie under my usual CB name too, so that should keep it up and running 😀
Origami literally says kxbox :0 Origami, have you been playing video games?? I don't think video games are good for hedgehogs.

The Human GenomeTop
and btw i think it's so funny how Sempreverde guessed that you were me on the RP thread lol
-
TopethystParticipantlost in a sea of NutellaYes I know it's hilarious! Btw, since Moon Wolf asked when we're starting, shall I go ahead and launch it?
-
LyricParticipant?!
shifting sandsOkay, sure!
After you launch, I think I'll post an outline of what's going to happen pre-"war" (Shadow Wolves and Shadow Eagles are planning, the other packs don't know at first but start to suspect…)
I'm not sure if if I still want to do the whole magic guarding schedule though–I think it might be easier to just pretend there's a small group of wolves who guard the power sources. Idk, honestly :/ What do you think?
-
-
-
-
-
AmethystParticipantTelmarGreat! For the magic guarding, you're right – it might be easier to do it that way, especially since we don't have that many charries so far. We should absolutely have some sort of guard for the power sources, though, or it would be too easy for other wolves to steal them.
