MabonGuestDay One, Part Two
“Alrighty!” Lugh flashes a smile to the group following him and Mabon down the autumn leafed road. “It seems we just barely got the majority of guests, huh? Don’t worry, we won’t be walking the whole way! Mabon said they left their pick-up truck somewhere around here…” he peered into the trees as though expecting it to pop out at him.
WildWolf pursed her lips and glanced around at the others, containing a smile. With Lugh’s comfortable personality, she almost wanted to stay in Summer, but the alluring idea of a constant autumn kept her from actually going.
“I told you, it’s around the corner,” Mabon said in their already familiar bored tone.
“Aaaaand around the corner we go!” Lugh bounded energetically around the bend in the road, everyone trailing behind him. WildWolf glanced over her shoulder to see the two sisters and the rest of the CBers hopping into a silver minivan that had pulled up beside the group, the driver dressed in a red uniform. WildWolf turned her attention to the path before her again, just in time to get shoulder bumped by Amity.
“Hi!” she said, smiling. “It’s so great to see you in person.”
“Yeah, same here,” WildWolf grinned back. “And we’re both in the House of Autumn, right?”
“Ya,” Amity confirmed. “I’m pretty excited about how this visit will turn out to be! I really wonder what sort of arts and crafts will be going on, I do enjoy learning new skills.”
“Yeah, it sounds cool,” WildWolf agreed. “Who else is in Autumn?” They both looked at the three CBer’s ahead of them, Hawkstar and Amethyst walking side by side, Lonan a little bit behind them.
“Just Lonan, I think,” Amity said. “The other two are in House of Summer, I’m guessing.”
“Right.”
They walked in silence for a moment, crunching over fallen leaves. Ahead, Lugh suddenly dove into the trees with a triumphant shout. “Here’s your old thing, Mabon!”
WildWolf picked up her pace, and everyone caught up the enthusiastic summer host. He was tugging at the passenger side door of a vintage truck.
“Aw- it’s actually kinda cute!” Amity said.
“And old!” WildWolf took in the rust.
“The good news is,” Lugh said, finally wrenching the stuck door open, “that we don’t have to walk all the way to your stops! The bad news is, you all have to ride in the back. As in the truck bed.” With an impish grin, he slid into his seat and shut the door with a bang.
The group glanced at each other and then at Mabon, who was standing by the driver’s side, keys dangling. “Don’t worry,” they said, almost kindly. “I won’t be going very fast.”
They opened their door and got in as well.
“I mean…” Hawkstar shrugged and went around the back of the truck. “It could be fun.”
WildWolf nodded, and joined her, helping her pull down the heavy tailgate. They both clambered in, kicking some of the leaves out of the back. Hawkstar seated herself on one of the humps on the side, where the back wheels were underneath. WildWolf decided to sit on a coil of rope, her back against the cab of the truck.
Amity climbed in next, followed by Amethyst. Lonan came in last, tugging up the tailgate. WildWolf moved to help them, but they had already secured it into place, so she settled back, and smiled at them. Lonan merely glanced at her and shifted to sit on their knees, arms resting on the edge of the truck.
“All settled back there?” Lugh roared back at them as the truck gave a cough and jolted to life.
“Yep!” they all called back. The truck stuttered in place for a moment before bumping out of its parking place and turning onto the road.
WildWolf closed her eyes, a small smile finding its way onto her face. The wind that was created from moving stirred her hair. She breathed in, and opened her eyes, tilting her head back to watch the red and gold flash by. It even smelled like fall.
They drove along like this for maybe fifteen minutes, winding down the rustic road, meeting no other vehicle along the way. Occasionally, WildWolf would catch sight of an animal through the trees, a deer or a pair of chattering squirrels.
Finally, the noisy truck sputtered and slowed, Mabon turning it into a hidden driveway to the left. The drive was lined with colorful trees, open spaces beyond them. A few minutes later, the truck parked in front of a house, next to a bright red convertible which looked both at home and out of place in the autumn forest.
“Welcome to the House of Autumn,” Mabon climbed out of the truck, sounding proud. The Chatterboxers all jumped out, landing on the paved ground. Lugh was somehow already in the driver’s seat of the convertible, leaning back in the seats.
WildWolf turned her attention to the place she’d be staying. It was a two-story house, with a porch that was decorated with pumpkins. The house was dark brown, and appeared to be made of logs, giving it that classical rustic cabin feels, surrounded by the autumn trees. A tire swing hung from an enormous oak stationed nearby, and WildWolf just itched to go try it out.
A large bark sounded from behind the house, and an Australian Shepard excitedly came to circle around Mabon. Much more slowly, a long-eared beagle trotted over and lay down on Lonan’s feet, drooling slightly. Lonan’s gaze softened slightly.
“Yes, this is Harvest,” Mabon said as the Shepard came to inspect everyone, tail swinging wildly. “He’s friendly and a nuisance. And that is Samhian, or Sam. She’s just lazy. Old. Quite useless.”
“Careful, Mabon,” Lugh drawled from his car. “Your affection is overflowing. Rein it in now.”
WildWolf ducked her head and huffed out a quiet laugh, holding out her hand for Harvest to sniff. He snuffled at it, then buried his head into it, demanding a scratch behind the ear.
“Okay that’s enough. Harvest, Sam!” Mabon gave a sharp whistle and Harvest instantly leaped to their side, panting happily. Sam rolled over onto her back, ears flopping. WildWolf giggled along with Amity and Amethyst at the cuteness.
“Well, it’s been fun,” Lugh said with a yawn. “But I am READY to get back to my home turf- or should I say surf?” he laughed at his own joke. “Anyway, girls, hop in!” He gestured at Amethyst and Hawkstar.
“Bye,” WildWolf waved at the two, and they voiced their own good-byes. “See you guys around, I guess!”
She watched them climb into the back together, and Lugh gave a jaunty salute as he backed up and drove away. WildWolf turned her attention back to Mabon. They seemed unsure of what to do with the three remaining.
“Of course, I’m one of those who end up having the most people here,” they mumble under their breath. “Well, come on then, I guess. I’ll show you to your rooms. You can have today off, but after that I expect you all to help me out around you. I wasn’t kidding when I said it’s all very hard work around here.”
WildWolf exchanged glances with Amity and Lonan, then smiled sweetly at Mabon. “Okay,” they all said.Present: WildWolf, Lonan Fable, Thalorwin, Amethyst, Amity, Moon Wolf, Hex, Hawkstar, Poinsettia, Seadragon (10)

vice.verses.virtueGuestoodles!
lost to the sands of timehello! the description said unlimited invites, so i was wondering if i could still join (although it’s already started)? if not, no worries!
Name: Virtue, although Vice works as well (interchange them–or don’t! Whichever you prefer :]).
Pronouns: They/them.
Basic Appearance: I have short blond hair in a wolf cut, gray eyes (yes, yes, the light-eyed stare memes are true), black glasses (my eyesight is dreadful), and I usually wear black baggy cargo pants or baggy gray jeans with some sort of belt, an off-shoulder band tee, converse or doc martens, and accessories (pins, bracelets, etc).
Personality: I’ve been told that I’m very still (creepily so, apparently) due to the fact that I don’t enjoy being noticed a lot. I’m an observer, and I think before I speak, although I will jump in to defend someone who is in need of defending. I’m quiet, a little shy, always a bit nervous, and sarcastic. I tend to make many, many, many bad jokes/dad jokes (I get in trouble with my mouth quite often, since sometimes people don’t think I’m joking when I’m being sarcastic. It also doesn’t help that apart from my sarcasm, my sense of humor is like that of a middle-schooler).
Which House Would You Like To Stay In: House of Autumn, please.
Calm or Chaos: Chaos. I like to be the one calm spot amidst the storm–it’s comforting.
Preferred Season: Autumn or winter.
Sparkles or Pockets: Pockets! They’re practical, handy, practical, practical, and practical. Also, they look really cool on pants and jackets.
Does Trouble Ever Just Find You: Oh, yes, all the time, whether it be by fortune or misfortune.
Other: I’m a teenager, mid-high-school age.
What Host Is Your Fave: Woah, you can’t ask me to pick a favorite! That would be unfair to the others. (It’s Mabon!)
also, no pressure if it’s too hard to add me or if you simply don’t want to because of my late registration, i totally get it. it’s hard and takes tons of effort and energy to put together such a cool ski lodge, so i really respect you for doing this!

AmethystGuestYayy, new part! And it’s so good
:DI love the “‘Aaaaand around the corner we go!'”, and the descriptions (now I almost want to stay in the House of Autumn… to be honest, I want to stay in all the houses XD), and everything really. It’s spindiddly so far! -
OstaraGuestDay One, Part Three
“Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh, HEY!”
Everyone in the mini van exploded into laughter, having finished a car-wide sing-a-long. Thalorwin peeked behind her from her seat in the middle row, where Moon Wolf, Hex, and Seadragon somehow sat comfortably. Poinsettia was beside her, Ostara on the far side, with Yule in the passenger seat. The car was driven by none other than Nicholas, who instead they all call him by his nickname, Santa. Thalorwin suppressed a smile, remembering all their shock when he had pulled up, his eyes twinkling behind his snowy white beard, head out the window. He was dressed jokingly in a chauffeurs outfit, but the colors were red and white.
“Ah, that’s a good one,” Santa was saying, navigating the hilly road ahead. The scenery by now was very snowy, although no flakes fell from the sky currently. “At least it isn’t one about me. Honestly, those can get a little embarrasing!” He chuckled good naturedly as the radio played an instrumental song.
“Thank you so much for driving us today,” Yule lay a hand briefly on his shoulder.
“Oh, it’s nothing,” he said cheerfully. “People say I’m always so busy but I’m really not! It’s all the elves, you know. Wonderful folk, so hardworking and creative. Dedicated. You know, there was this time-” he cut himself off and cleared his throat. “What I mean is, you know I’ll come when you call, Yule dear, It doesn’t happen very often.”
“And driving all the way to Spring too,” Ostara chimed in. “Very kind.”
“It’s nothing, it’s nothing,” Santa repeated. “I get a bit tired of driving a sleigh, to be honest. I rarely get to put it into Modern Mode: MiniVan!”
“Wait,” Thalorwin raised her eyebrows. “This is your actual sleigh?”
“Oh, yes!” he answered. “It actually has many modes, but people expect a sleigh, and I really hate to disappoint, so a sleigh they get! Even if it is a pain in Arizona.”
Thalorwin giggles along with the others, leaning her body with the moving car as it rounds a sharp bend and then coasts down a steep hill. Up ahead, the ground is flat for a while, and Thalorwin can see the white fade away, with a soft green taking its place.
“Spring border, ahoy!” Santa said. “We should be at the House of Spring shortly, then I’ll circle back and drop the rest of you off at Winter.”
The car murmured with agreement, and then listened intently to the radio as another singing-worth song came on.
“Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock…”
~~~
“Thanks again! Bye!” Ostara waved at the silver mini van as it pulled back onto the main road and sped away. “Well. He really is a jolly good fellow.” She turned to Thalorwin and Poinsettia. “Just us girls, huh? Come on, I’ll give you a tour of the house.”
She turned and led them up the stairs of a cute one story house, painted a pastel yellow and trimmed with white. It stood at the edge of a forest, the front lawn made up of green grass and full of flowers. There was one large oak beside the house, soft new leaves coating the branches. A bench swing hung from a branch.
Up on the porch, Thalorwin felt something brush past her ankles. Looking down, she saw a beautiful calico cat looking up at her. “Aw, hi!”
Ostara glanced behind her at Thalorwin and Poinsettia, who were both cooing over the purring cat. “Yes. That’s Artemis. She’s just had her third litter of kittens, actually. I will definitely show you them later.”
“Awww,” Thalorwin melted simply at the thought of the baby kittens.
Ostara let them pet Artemis for a bit more, before calling them over to the front door. “Come on in.” Thalorwin followed her through the door, Poinsettia behind her. Artemis made to come inside, and Poinsettia blocked her with her foot.
“Oh, she can come in. And you can leave the door open,” Ostara said, and Poinsettia let in the cat.
Inside, a large room had a joined living room and kitchen, sunlight spilling through open windows. The color scheme was bright and joyful, and plants literally grew from different spots in the house, no planting pots in sight.
Thalorwin’s eyes flicked over to the couch, where something red caught her eye. A fox was curled up on a cushion, just inches from a basket on the floor that held a pair of rabbits.
“Hello my darlings,” Ostara floated over to them, petting first the fox, who lifted his head for a scratch, and then the rabbits.
“Wow,” Poinsettia said in surprise. “You really do have cute animals around every corner.”
“Who coexist peacefully together,” Thalorwin observed.
“Yeah,” Ostara smiled sweetly. “My spring is a place of peace. All are welcome here.”
“I love that,” Poinsettia said, almost dreamily.
Ostara smiled at her and went away from the couch and into the kitchen, rummaging around in the cupboards before spotting a basket on the counter and pulling out carrots. “Here. Want to feed the rabbits?”
Poinsettia and Thalorwin eagerly approached and took the carrots from her. They still had the leafy green on them, with some dirt still attached to the orange.
The rabbits sniffed at the offered food and began nibbling on them, looking just adorable. Thalorwin gave a happy glance to Poinsettia, who returned it.
Once the carrots were eaten down to nubs, Thalorwin glanced up at Ostara, who was singing something in her sweet voice, in a language she didn’t recognize. She was chopping up cucumbers by the sink, a trio of blackbirds and a robin perching on her shoulders and head.
“She’s like a fairytale princess,” Thalorwin resisted the urge to squeal.
“She’s the essence of spring,” Poinsettia put it simply.
The two just stared at Ostara as she worked, the birds seemingly bobbing along to her tune. After a bit, she turned and saw them looking at her. “Oh, let me show you to your rooms!” She set down her knife and walked toward them, the blackbirds fleeing out the window, but the robin chirping peacefully on her head.
“Here, this way.” She took them into a hall to the left, were there were four open doors and window at the end. She peeked into the first bedroom, and Thalorwin did too. “Not in here, I’m afraid,” Ostara tee-heed, gently shutting the door on a snoozing black bear. She went down to the end and opened another door wider, and gestured them inside.
The room was as bright as the rest of the house, a bunk bed against the wall. A window to the left showed the huge oak outside the window, and the window directly across from them had blue curtains hanging from them. A dresser was in the corner, a desk in another. The floor was smooth wood, with a throw rug in the middle of the room.
“I thought you two could share since it’s only you, but there is another room down the hall if not,” Ostara said.
Poinsettia and Thalorwin glanced at each other.
“I don’t mind sharing,” Thalorwin admitted.
Poinsettia turned to Ostara with a smile. “We’ll take it. Thank you!”
Ostara beamed back, her eyes almost disappearing. “Great! The bathroom is just across the hall. I’ll be in the kitchen, finishing up lunch, okay? Okay!” she dipped out of the room and back down the hall.
Thalorwin stretched and sat down on the bottom bunk, Poinsettia walking over to the tree-filled window.
“Oh!” Thalorwin jumped as a lump under her covers moved. She watched it move towards the end of her bed and seemingly fall off. Thalorwin leaned forward and saw that the lump had been an adorable white mouse. It looked up at her with big eyes and climbed onto her shoe.
“AWE!” she squealed and picked it up, hugging it to her cheek. “So. Cute.”
Poinsettia was watching her with a grin, coming over to get a load of small cuteness too.Present: WildWolf, Lonan Fable, Thalorwin, Amethyst, Amity, Moon Wolf, Hex, Hawkstar, Poinsettia, Seadragon (10)
