Everyone asks people

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

which book charecter do you hate the most? from any book, really.
Everyone asks people...

Everyone asks people who their favorite book character or who their fanasty crush is, but no one asks who's their least favorite book charecter. I wonder why that is?

And I was curious...who is your least favorite book character?

I guess we just dislike characters differently! I usually dislike characters who are flat or boring or poorly developed and you seem to dislike evil characters!

Well I dislike flat or boring characters as well but there is only a certain amount of evil I can tolerate.

Oh my wyrd I LOVE the Grisha trilogy! I have very mixed feelings about the Darkling, due to a theory I've come across, but I do agree 100% about Vasily.

SPOILER ALERT

I also really wish Alina had ended up with Nikolai instead of Mal.

Jinny from Orphan Island. She's extremely selfish and inflexible and allows that and fear to hold her back, and none of that changes throughout the entire book. Only when the situation is just about as bad as it could possibly be does she do that one simple task that was set for her. Her relationship with Ess was sweet and interesting, but it didn't develop Jinny much, and neither did anything else. She's also the cause of the major conflict, and it was the right decision to tell the story from her perspective, I sincerely hope the audience isn't expected to like her very much. That said, she does have good points, and this is just the way I feel.

America Singer from the Selection Series. Just...terrible. A Mary Sue who's beautiful, selfish, self-centered, inconsiderate, dull, whiny, has poor taste, and did I mention self-centered? All of this DESPITE the author's best attempts to make her the opposite, which almost makes it doubly worse. GAH, I hate that series so much.

Also, Sarah Hart from I am No. Four. She is literally the queen of Mary Sues, whose only reason for existance is to be the main character's potential love interest. Actually, any character from I am No. Four will do. The main character's name is *drumroll.....* John Smith, and he is perhaps one of the lords of Gary Sue. The king of Gary Sues, in my opinion, is Sam from Gone, and some of the other Lords of Gary Sue under him (is it weird that I'm making a whole feudal system?) include Percy Jackson, Jason from HoO, and Four from Divergent.

Ugh, America. . . don't you think it would have been so much more interesting if the Selection was about Elise?

And Sarah Hart and. . . ugh John Smith. I mean, can you get even more basic than that? To be honest, I hated all of the characters in I Am No. Four.

And haha, I totally agree about Sam. . .

*Wracks brain* Darn it, I can't remember who Elise is! Was she the quieter one that was a Four or farmer or something? Does something happen with her later in the series? (feel free to spoil it for me- I've only read the first book but I don't care, plus I know how it ends anyway)

Ooh!

I just had an idea. What if...

The Selection was a murder mystery? Like, a couple days after it started, Prince Maxon was found stone-dead on the palace floor with a pool of blood underneath him. The whole castle was put under quarantine, and nobody was allowed to leave. For the royal family was certain of one thing-

It was one of the girls who did it.

Dun dun dun DUN!!!

That sounds like a good idea for an AU fanfic ski lodge.

Oh yes, that'd be awesome. Also, Elise is the girl who's from the neighboring country who doesn't want to be in the Selection but her parents are forcing her to do it to keep ties with whatever country America lives in or something like that.

Oh! I totally forgot to mention every character in Keeper of the Lost Cities, ESPECIALLY Sophie.

Also, you guys keep mentioning Professor Umbridge. But I actually like Umbridge as a character (she's well-developed!) and hate her as a person. Which is a good thing, because that's what the author wanted the readers to feel like.

Chance from Virals

I kinda sorta don't like Taylor from Michael Vey... Don't kill

me...

Sabina from Alex Rider

Koreander >Starfire< from comics

The main character >i don't even remember his name< from the Hypnotists

Hmmm.. I think that's it.
