Everyone asks people

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

which book charecter do you hate the most? from any book, really.
Everyone asks people...

Everyone asks people who their favorite book character or who their fanasty crush is, but no one asks who's their least favorite book charecter. I wonder why that is?

And I was curious...who is your least favorite book character?

Marguerite Blakney from The Scarlet Pimpernel. She's supposed to be "The smartest woman in Europe", but she's utterly stupid most of the time. She stumbles into traps, is easily blackmailed, and often does things that almost get her husband killed. She's mostly useless, and is annoyingly over emotional. A lot of this isn't her fault as much as it is the author, who wrote Marguerite as the basic damsel in distress archetype, giving her very few interesting traits of her own. The book and its sequels focus a lot on her "Womanly Feelings" and "Womanly Intuition", which, as an actual female, I find very annoying. I like other parts of the Scarlet Pimpernel, and I plan on reading on in the series, but Marguerite is the worst.

Umbridge. I hate her with a passion. That's unusual for me, but I realized that the main characters I feel like that about, are her and Gaston, and they were both cruel to characters played by Emma Watson. I realized that after I watched Beauty and the Beast, and it was completely subconscious.

The Shirtless Llama from Twilight. Actually just Twilight in general. Also Every single character ever to exist in I Am Number Four. Except maybe Bernie Kosar. ALSO UMBRIDGE ABSOLUTELY. AND Belatrix Lestrange.

I even have a list of the most evil characters in Harry Potter.

1. Prof. Umbridge

2. Belatrix Lestrange

3. Voldemort

4. Ms. Norris

5. Lucius Malfoy

Peeves actually sides against Umbridge on order of the Weasley Twins, and is heard singing a--SPOILERS! Victory song at the end of the last book.

@General Waffleson

It's funny, my brother's favorite character in Harry Potter is Belatrix Lestrange. He says that she is the perfect villain, and it's absolutely true. She is insane and cruel and crazy loyal to the "evil guy", everything you need to make a good bad guy (or girl as the case may be). I actually like her better than Ron.

P.S. I also really like how they cast her in the movie. You know she is also the fairy godmother in the new Cinderella movie?

Yeah, but part of being a good villain is being hatable. I agree that her character design is excellent, but I still hate her, mainly because she's such a Jerkbutt.

I had no idea it was the same actor as the one for the Fairy Godmother in the new Cinderella movie! I haven't seen it yet, so I didn't know.

P.S: !I GOT A JAR OF DIIRT! I GOT A JAR OF DIIIRT! AND GUESS WHAT'S INSIDE IT!"

Ooh... well there's Umbridge, obviously, but also...

Sebastian Morgenstern (The Mortal Instruments). Aaagh I hate him so much! He's a disgusting person and he nearly rapes his own sister. Ugh he's such a creep!

Percy Jackson as a character also kind of annoys me. I mean, I don't hate him, but I feel like he/the author just tries too hard to make everything funny, and somehow he seems like his personality is very much a stereotype.

Coulter, from Fablehaven. He's so sexist, and while I do love the series, I hate that Kendra and Seth are both girl/boy stereotypes.

Bruno's father, in "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." I mean, he's a Nazi officer who tells his son that everyone behind the Auschwitz fence isn't a real person and teaches him to say "Heil Hitler". Ugh I hate him so much!!!!

Oh don't even get me started on Sebastian (As I shall refer to him for this post due to complicated and spoilers), mainly because I don't even have the words. Really though, my reaction when you mentioned him was "Ugh, him. He needs to go die... And burn in...." Along with some weird hand motions off to the side. It's actually funny that this would come up because I was recently thinking about Valentine for no real reason.... I don't remember why. I have a horrible memory sometimes.

You've read TMI?!?!?! Aaahhh you're my new favourite person! Yes, I really hate Sebastian a lot (though it was sad when he died). My friends and I were just discussing Sebastian and Valentine yesterday and who was a better villian (Sebastian, Valentine was weird I couldn't really picture him) and it was completely unrelated to that post!

I don't often come across a book or a person that I despise. In fact, the only person I don't like is Katniss Everdeen. Enough said.

She's worse in the movies. I think. I haven't seen all of them.
