((Umbridge should have a cat, and it should be named something "too sweet", but it should not be named Fluffy. Possible confusion with Hagrid's three headed dog, in my opinion.))

"Besides," said Sara "Why would I, I mean, anybody even give their money to someone like you?! You're mean, and you beat people up for no reason. Anyway, don't you have your own money? Why don't you use that?" The ginger cat meowed again.

Misty O'Malley walked briskly through the train looking at compartments. Full, Full, Full, Full, Not Full but with unpleasant-looking Slytherins...Finally she came upon a compartment with several Ravenclaws and a Slytherin and walked in. "Hey,what do you -" began the Slytherin, but Misty ignored her and slid into an empty seat ."Hello", she said

Grendle cracked her knuckles and started towards Sara, who looked slightly alarmed but tried to cover it with an expression of defiance. "You lil'..." Grendle began.

"Excuse me," somebody said sharply. "Is there a problem here?"

A girl with long black hair, wearing Gryffindor robes and a prefect badge, stood outside the open compartment door. Grendle glared at her, but the black-haired girl simply stared right back, until Grendle finally looked away.

The girl pointed. "You. Out." When Grendle didn't move, she added pointedly, "Now."

With one last menacing look at Sara, Grendle lumbered into the corridor and out of sight, under the prefect's threatening glare.

Cara was the first to speak. "Thanks."

The prefect girl shrugged. "Just let someone know if she bothers you again. She looks as dense as a concussed troll, but even stupid people can still get lucky with a wand once in a while," she said. "I just stopped in to tell everyone to change into their robes. We should be arriving within the next twenty minutes. Any of you first years?" she added, almost as an afterthought.

Noel timidly raised her hand. The prefect nodded briskly. "All right, you look for Hagrid when you get off the train. You'll be going across the lake in boats." Noel looked positively terrified at this thought.

Cara said suddenly, "Hey, wait a minute....you're Kira McCall, right? Gryffindor Quidditch captain?"

Kira nodded.

Cara said, "I'm Cara Appledore - I'm in third year Ravenclaw."

Sara added, "And I'm Sara -"

"Peterson," Kira said. "We were in the same double Herbology class last year. Nice to meet you, Cara." She checked her watch. "Holy cricket, I really have to get going. Remember to change." Right before walking away, she stuck her head back into the compartment. "Oh. By the way, nice cat." Then she disappeared down the corridor.

((Er, I don't know if I mentioned, Cara's actually a first year. That was a typo on my charrie description.))

When they had all changed into their robes, a whistle blew. Cara and Noel jumped, but Sara just looked up.

"Oh, we're here already? Brilliant. Does anyone want to help me stuff Riley into the carrier?" Riley meowed loudly and leapt up into the luggage rack.

Cara and Noel exchanged glances, and hurriedly mumbled that they didn't want to be late and had to go. Sara sighed as though she'd been expecting this. She pulled out her wand and the cat came zooming towards her. She caught him and Riley was stuffed headfirst into a wicker cat carrier.

Cara checked to see that her rat, Daisy, was all right, and the three left the compartment.

((Also, I decided on the spot that Cara has a rat named Daisy.))

((Eh, forget the compartment opening. I have another idea.))

Ainsley was still reading when she heard the telltale shout of people clamoring around the sweets trolley, so she drew a few bronze Knuts from her dragonskin purse and slid out of the compartment just as the trolley rounded her way. She asked the plump woman heading the trolley for a pumpkin pasty and two chocolate frogs, paid up two Knuts and was about to slide back into her compartments when a large, looming figure came rumbling her way.

" 'Ello there,  Corvax," said Grendle, a large brutish girl who was in second year. " 'Ow's your ride goin'?"

"Fine, thank you," replied Ainsley coldly.

"I need a Knut,"Grendle said blankly.

"Go find your own," Ainsley shot back.

"We both know that ain't doin'," Grendle replied. "I'll get you a good seat at the next Quidditch match. Prime for peltin' owl dung at them Gryffindors. Whatd'ya say, eh?"

"Oh...all right," replied Ainsley. "But this is the last time."

"Yeah," grunted Grendle, and she stuffed a few pieces of Drooble's blowing gum into her pockets before a loud voice came echoing down the hall.

"What do you think you're doing?"

((Again, here's a good filler spot. Hope Grendle doesn't mind that i roleplayed a bit. Embarassed))

Once they arrived at Hogwarts, Misty got on a boat with the other 1st years."Hello," she said. No one said anything."Er, what house do you want to be in?" She directed her question to the girl next to her. The girl started to reply, but when a sudden wave knocked her overboard Misty resorted to kicking the boat.                                                                          *************************************************************************  Lucius Malfoy sat down at the Slytherin table."Must they do the Sorting every year?" he compianed, glancing at the assembled line of first years."They could at least make it more interesting."

"Well it is a tradition," replied the boy next to him. Lucius sighed and wiated for the Sorting to begin

Not my best... Just as a Note, I've changed her last name from Huntington to Hunter.

A girl of 13 jumped out of the train. She lost her balance and fell face first into the stone ground. She heard giggles as she heaved herself up. Seeing a group of Slytherins pass with smirks on their faces, she instinctively reached for her wand. Sighing she stopped herself before she could mutter ahex. During the summer her parent’s had received a letter saying that if anymore ‘incidents’ occurred that she would not be invited back to Hogwarts. It was the very last thing she wanted. She watched the first years gather in a group and the troops of returning students head towards the carriages. The girl slung a pack over her shoulder and headed off. The silver name plate on her black leather bag read Fern Hunter.

Ainsley hopped off of the train and quickly, the carriage ride was over. She sidled into the careteria, fixing her hair before she spotted Lucias at the head of the Slytherin table. She sat down next to him and said angrily, "And where have you been?"

"Here," he replied cooly. "Thanks for asking."

"How muh of this drivel did I miss??" she asked, crossing her arms. "As soon as those little welps have been sorted, I'm splitting."

"Don't try to be cool," said malfoy and Aisly began feeling embarrised. You could almost see her shrinking in her seat.

Next to Malfoy sat Grendle and he was looking at her affectionatly. The way Aisly wished Malfoy looked at her. When the ceromony was over she left without eating and stromed off. Malfoy ran after her. Grendle piled more food on her plate. From other peoples plates.

Sara jumped off the train, (struggling a bit, because Riley was so heavy) and went to the Great Hall. She sat down at the Ravenclaw table. "I always like the Sorting." she said. The girl next to her mumbled something. Sara glanced over at the Gryffindor table where she saw James Potter (( who is going to be James anyway?)) sitting next to his best friend, Sirius Black. ((my last name is Black also!)) They were both laughing. Sitting across from the two boys were Peter Pettigrew who looked as though he didn't get why James and Sirius were laughing, and Remus Lupin, who looked a bit gloomy. "You know," said Sara, "I never knew why Lupin disappears every month." Then she looked over at the Slytherin table, where she saw Grendle glaring at her. Sara glared back. "I hate that girl," she muttered darkly. "Who?" asked the girl next to her. "Grendle Tirebum." Sara replied. "She-" Sara was interrupted by a loud voice saying, "Let the Sorting Begin!"
