Hey everyone! <3

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CBer Book Club!
Hey everyone! <3...

Hey everyone! <3 I know this isn't a very active realm of the CB, but I had a really cool idea. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a book club on the CB! I joined a book club in March, and it's been awesome! I realised that book clubs are super fun when you don't have to do a bunch of school assignment around it and read something like Johnny Tremain or Lord of the Flies. Nothing against classic literature, but my brain can only take so much of the Bard's work.

Anyway, for our book club we could choose what books we want to read, set reading deadlines, and discuss the book on the CB! We could also do small writing challenges and stuff, but I don't want it to be like school. I've been trying to read more during quarintine, and I hope other people are too!

If you are interested in joining, please fill out this sheet. There's no limit, but I hope we can get at least 4 or 5 people. :D

Name: Cynthia Maple

Genres you like: Fantasy, Adventure, Historical Fiction

How long it takes you to finish a book: If I am really commited 1-4 days, if not 7-14 days.

Books you'd be interested in reading: The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, that is all I can think of right now.

This would be so fun! Great idea Fidelity.

Name: MountainSpirit

Genres you like: Realistic fiction, historical fiction, mystery. I can't read anything dark/evil/scary but if everyone else wants to read something like that, you're welcome to and I will just skip that book.

How long it takes you to finish a book: about a week

Books you'd be interested in reading: I've also wanted to read The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise but I'm happy to read most books.

Do you have access to a library? Kindle? Online books?: I have Libby and overdrive. I kind of have access to a library meaning I can put something on hold and pick it up but it can take a few days to get something.

Can't wait!

Oh, this sounds great! I haven't been in a book club in forever.

Name: Agent Winter (Win)

Genres you like: Fantasy and sci-fi, mostly, but I also like a good historical fiction if it's well-written.

How long it takes you to finish a book: Depends on how interested I am in it. I've actually finished a book in less than two days before, though it usually takes me about a week. If I really don't like a book, I'll often procrastinate for like 3 weeks before finishing it XD but I don't think that will happen this time.

Books you'd be interested in reading: The War that Saved My Life is a great one, and I want to read the sequel! Also, The Fog Diver and City of Islands are two of my other favorites. I've read them already, but I'd read them again if other people want to! But really anything anyone else likes would be fine.

Do you have access to a library? Kindle? Online books?: I have Kindle and Apple Books, and I technically have access to a library but I think I'll go with digital downloads for now just to be on the safe side.

This will be so fun!

This is a wonderful idea. I recently organized a book club, and it's really fun. And I'd love to see more stuff going on in BaB.

Name: PygmyOwl

Genres I Like: I like most genres, but my preferences are fantasy, sci-fi, and realistic fiction.

How Long To Finish a Book: Not super long, I'm a quick reader. I can read about 100 pages an hour.

Books I'd Be Interested in Reading: Nothing in particular, I'm open to suggestions.

I have an ereader, and I can access quite a few books through that.

I had actually been thinking about starting one of these.

My name is obviously Strawberri. I love fantasy, but I mostly read fiction, even in other genres. It really depends on the book, but if you want, I can finish a book in a week or two. I would like to read the Wings of Fire seires, or Harry Potter books, or something like that, but I'll probably be ok with pretty much anything else the others would like to read. I would also like to read Sherlock Holmes, but if that is to archeic, that's fine. I have a library very close, and I can get books on kindle. I can't wait for this to start!

Name: Luna

Genres you like: Historical and Realistic fiction, YA; I don't seek out things like Fantasy and Mystery, but when I pick one of them up, I usually end up liking them. And dystopian is good when done right.

How long it takes you to finish a book: Depends on how much I like it, really; but if we try to finish them in a month, I'll probably do so, even if I don't like the book so much.

Books you'd be interested in reading: anything by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff, Jodi Lynn Anderson, Lois Lowry, John David Anderson; or, any historical fiction, like, at all.

Do you have access to a library? Kindle? Online books?: I do have access to the library in my room of over 100 books, but that doesn't even include the books around our house. We do have a Kindle but I'm not sure what all I can access there.

This sounds awesome!!

Name: Starchaser

Genres you like: Realistic fiction, fantasy, sometimes historical fiction, WINGS OF FIRE

How long it takes you to finish a book: Depending on the book, 1 day to a week if I'm reading multiple books.

Books you'd be interested in reading: I want to read the sequel to The War That Saved My Life also there are a ton of other books I would like to read but I can't think of any specifically right now, I like most books

Do you have access to a library? Kindle? Online books?: I have access to libraries but it might take me a while to get books from them because I can only put stuff on hold thanks to Covid. For now I have Libby also, but sonnish I will have to return my Chromebook to school. :(

OH YEAH I second Strawberri's question: Do any of you have Goodreads??

I'll join!!

Name: Emekittycon k

Genres you like: Minecraft, fantasy, monsters, and fiction.

How long it takes you to finsih a book: Well, it depends. Probably about 1 hour if it's a thick book but about 10 minutes if its thin.

This sounds like a great idea!

Name: Winterblue

Genres you like: All, but especially historical fiction, fantasy, and mystery

How long it takes you to finish a book: Assuming the book is average length, If I LOVE the book it can take me one day, if I like it it will take me three or four days, and if I'm less motivated it will take a week or so. Sometimes it takes me longer, but that's only when I'm uninterested in the book and procrastinate it, which doesn't happen often.

Books you'd be interested in reading: anything other people suggest!

Do you have access to a library? Kindle? Online books?: My library is closed at the moment, but I can download books on my phone.

If you like fairy tale adaptations, try A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. So good!

Oh, and I can't wait for the book club to start! I have a book I think we should read: And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie

Name; Zahava

Genres you like: all of them, I don't really have a preference

How long it takes you to finish a book: it depends, usually between a day and a week

Books you'd be interested in reading: the tillerman books are good

I don't have access to a library, kindle, or online books.

And Then There Were None is kind of, not scary exactly, but unsettling, But if that's not a problem, then I'd also suggest the ABC Murders.

I'd suggest any Agatha Christie, but I'd rather not do a Poirot since I just read them. Maybe a standalone or a Miss Marple.
