Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Guess the book quote!
This game's probably...

This game's probably been done on here before, but I thought it'd be fun to do again. Basically, someone posts a line of dialogue from a book, and other people try to guess what it's from. There's not really any winning or losing, it's just fun. So without further ado, let's see how many fandoms I can summon with these quotes:

"You are not much of a warrior, are you, Finian?"

"Make way for the Raven King"

"My ghost won't associate with your ghost"

"I am not ruined. I am ruination."

"Fear is the mind-killer"

"You are a pipe dream."

"Good night, sweet prince."

"You owe me three days in the infirmary."

"Am I not merciful?"

"I am the one thing you will never kill. I am hope."

Anyone got any guesses?

"They feel safer if no one in Narnia dares to go down to the coast and look out to sea - towards Aslan's land and the morning and the eastern end of the world."

Ha, obviously it's from the Chronicles of Narnia, but does anyone know from which Chronicle?

"She spent a good deal of time sitting on the little bench in the stern playing chess with Reepicheep."

"Out here in the fairgrounds, I could understand why ancient people used to think the world was flat and the sky was a dome that closed in on top of it."

for no other reason than I Felt Like It, here is a compilation of all the quotes that haven't been guessed yet:
from Snazzycakes:
"Fear is the mind-killer"
"You are a pipe dream."
"I am the one thing you will never kill. I am hope."
from Artemis:
"If there's a magic here, it's down deep where my hands can't reach it, if you take my meaning."
The first place I can well remember was a large pleasant meadow with a pond of clear water in it."
from MorticiaTheStargazer:
"The matriarch of House Kore was running late." (Oh wait, I know this one! It's the Gilded Wolves!)
"I know too much of mud."
"The bottom of the lake tasted like mud, salt, and regret."
"I liked the feeling the moonlight gave me, as if it wasn't the opposite of day, but its underside, its private side, when the fabulous purred on my snow-white sheet like some dark cat come in from the desert." (this is Stargirl!)
from Rainbow:
"One of them found our friend the homeless guy, and they were having a serious conversation about metal angels from Mars."
"The ADHD part of me wondered, off-task, whether the rest of his clothes were made the same way."
"The boy regained his composure and held out his hand."
"And you have to flaunt the weird, my friends." '
' "I prefer the term fabulously wierd." '
" Ah, better, I thought, as I floated through the cold darkness. Now, there's something else I should be doing. . . . Oh, right. Breathing. "
" I named my camel Katrina. She was a natural disaster. "
' "... No miracle's gonna drop out of the sky to save you." A rectangle of darkness appeared in the air just above the ghost's head. Sadie dropped out of it. '
from Phoenix Tears:
"We're not meant for happiness, you and I."
from Chaser & Jay:
So, there I was, tied to an altar made from out-dated encyclopedias, about to get sacrificed to the dark powers by a cult of evil Librarians."
And now Jason was fixing me with a glare that was not the look of someone who had once helped me sound out the words of Truffula Tree."
"'Right, sure' {name} answered. 'Except we're trying to do this in a not-ending-up-dead way.'"
from Suki:
1. "Quinton, we're flying! You're just going to act like this is normal?"
2. "That's the part you remember? But that wasn't Kon Fiji. You're quoting from a bandit debating Kon Fiji."
from Scuttles:
"You could be drowned in mud, pushed off a cliff, squished by a dinosaur, zapped by a lazer, or, in the case of one aggresively realistic dating simulator I'd play, contract mad cow disease from a haphazardly run steak house. All this and more could happen to you, and the result would always be the same. First, you'd feel a warm and comforting sensation, like being zipped all the way into a sleeping bag stuffed with goose down and anesthetic."
from fallen leaf:
"one could plot violent espionage and still hope for dessert
from Amythest:
They feel safer if no one in Narnia dares to go down to the coast and look out to sea - towards Aslan's land and the morning and the eastern end of the world."
She spent a good deal of time sitting on the little bench in the stern playing chess with Reepicheep."
"Out here in the fairgrounds, I could understand why ancient people used to think the world was flat and the sky was a dome that closed in on top of it.
from me, myself and i:
"Kell wore a very peculiar coat."
"A life is all the minutes you want minus one."

Yep, it's from Stargirl! Slightly surprised no one guessed it before now, but I suppose it was buried like the others.

"Fear is the mind-killer" is Dune; no, I haven't read it yet, but I saw the movie and can now attribute the quote.

"They feel safer..." and "She spent a good deal of time..." are possibly from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader?

"Kell wore a very peculiar coat" is, of course, from A Darker Shade of Magic.

"I know too much of mud" is extremely familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. The Girl Who Drank the Moon, I guess wildly? Pretty sure that's not first person, though.

The second quote is from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but "They feel safer" is from another Chronicle.

"One of them found our friend the homeless guy..." is from a Magnus Chase book I think, but I'm not sure which one.

"And now Jason fixed me with a glare..." is from the Son of Neptune? Maybe?

Nope, not Magnus Chase, but close. (same universe)

Wait no it's the Lost Hero not the Son of Neptune

I may still be wrong
