Hey guys!I h...

Hey guys!

I haven't read anything in awhile (crazy, i know) so I had an idea to find book recommendations or get a sense of what someone is like by the books they read... i came up with a few questions that a CBer can answer

1: A book you're in the middle of reading:

2: A favorite book for all ages:

3: A book you love with a lovely or unique title:

4: A book with a main character you most related to:

5: A book you've read many times:

6: A great read that's light and funny:

7: A great book with a great cover:

8: A favorite book that came out relatively recently:

9: A favorite book that's rather old:

10: A book you love no one else has heard of:

You can do this multiple times or just choose a few of these to answer:)

I haven't really gotten around to finishing it lately, school has started so...busy.

I forgot, I also really like Howl's Moving Castle because it's the most nonsensical book ever, and plus the studio ghibli movie is so good!!!

Whee funnn :)

1: A book you're in the middle of reading: At the exact moment, astonishingly, none. I barely finished rereading A Little Princess by Frances Hodgeson Burnett, and am on the brink of reading The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly.

2: A favorite book for all ages: For all ages, I'd say The Best of Olga da Polga - it's definitely targeted towards younger audiences, but it's an adorable book for anyone :) Also The Lady and the Lion, by Jacqueline K. Ogburn and Laurel Long, a picture book with the most amazing illustrations.

3: A book you love with a lovely or unique title: The Eagle of the Ninth, by Rosemary Sutcliff. Most of Rosemary Sutcliff's books aren't that good, but The Eagle is just really, really well written.

5: A book you've read many times: Almost every book I've ever read ;) One of them is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, by C.S. Lewis - again, the writing is excellent, and everything else about it is wonderful too.

6: A great read that's light and funny: Love and Olives, by Jenna Evans Welch. It's about a girl who goes to Greece to reunite with her father, and it's a great summer read. The characters are extremely vivid and endearing, and although it's a romcom, the plot has more to it than the romance.

8: A favorite book that came out relatively recently: Wonder, by R.J. Palacio. Really interesting, human, and evocative, with a setting most people can probably relate to :)

9: A favorite book that's rather old: I have tons... Two of them, though, would be Jane Hope, by Elizabeth Gray Vining (or Elizabeth Janet Gray - she wrote stories under both names) and The Golden Road by L.M. Montgomery.

Yeah, same. I loved everything about the book, and the movie was suprisingly true to the plot and the whole feel of it, so ofc I loved it too.

4: A book with a main character you most related to: probably...  Alex Bailey from Land of Stories

5: A book you've read many times: Ha thats easy Moon rising from Wings of Fire by Tui. T Sutherland

6: A great read that's light and funny: erm... I want to say Morrigan Crow... but I don't think it's light?

7: A great book with a great cover: Girl Chosen by Amanda Rose

8: A favorite book that came out relatively recently: Stellarlune by Shannon Messanger? it came out last year... does that count?

9: A favorite book that's rather old: Black Stallion, by I don't remember...

Have you read Sophie Quire?

Also, Green Ember is perfect for that spot!

And, yes, Land of Stories is awesome :)

Yes (for Green Ember series)! Not the companions, though :(

Sophie Quire, besides being an amazing book, was actually the cause of my first ever lucid dream so it holds a(n even more) special place in my heart (well, Peter helped too, basically someone in dreamland read Peter Nimble so I ran to my book collection to find Sophie Quire to recommend to him and I COULDN'T FIND IT I KNOW WHERE ALL MY BOOKS ARE so I was like hmm... suspicious... :D !!!)! I have a tendency to read things out of order... but in this case finishing with Peter wasn't horrible. Have you read the Night Gardener? I personally haven't, but Idk, it might be good
