Reunion thread! Hey

Reunion thread! Hey

Reunion thread! Hey everybody! Valentine's Day is coming up in less than a week. Some of you already know this, but if you don't, February 14 is a day for old CBers to come back and say hi. I know I'm a little early, but I wanted to make sure there was a centralized place for old CBers to pop up so that we're not spread across eight threads in all corners of the CB. I'll post a longer, more personal hello once this gets posted, but I wanted to leave the intro pretty short so that we don't all have to scroll through it.

Also, just so it's clear: I'm the one posting this thread, but it isn't my thread! It's just a centralized place for CBers new, old, and somewhere in between to reunite. Feel free to add your own hello's, no matter if you're a visiting or current CBer. See you on Valentine's Day! :)

I'm not sure if we ever interacted either, but your name is familiar! That's very sweet of you to say, I appreciate it a lot <3

Yo yo yo, wazzup!!!

FINALLY-I've been waiting for one of these reunion threads to show up!!! Thanks Starseeker for making it!!

I kind of dssappeared off the face of here a while back, so not too totally sure how many people will remember me, but I sure as heck am remembering all the people I'm seeing here on this thread, and it makes me SOOOO excited for Valentine's day!!

I still check up on here like.... almost every day, but I don't post, because well, I don't know many new people on here, and so I just fizzled out. *shrug*

Life update:

-I'm in my 3rd semester of college, but the first semester I have declared my major. I am now an English major, (I took an intro to literature class last semester, and I really loved it! I found how much I love discussing books, poems, and any other literature. (can you tell I was homeschooled? XD) My hope is that this will help me to become a librarian like I want.

-I'm trying to go on a mission, I paused the process but now I'm starting it back up and hopefully turning my papers in by this month.

-I have had 2 boyfriends, 1 my first semseter, and I wasn't expecting on getting one this semester, but I did. Unfortunately... my roommates didn't like him, and I kept feeling like I was being torn apart, choosing between my friends and him. So... he broke up with me. Just a few days ago. It hurts... and we miss each other. It hurts especially cause well... Valentine's Day is on Monday. And so, we're going to see what happens in two weeks. See if it is a good idea to get back together. I know he just wants me to be happy, so that's what I'm going to try to do!

Other: I've gotten into anime, right now I'm watching 'One Piece,' and I have started writing a BUNCH of poetry and stories again. :)

Anyways, see y'all on Valentine's day! And if there's anything else to catch y'all up on then I will. :)

Joan, we should chat about library stuff sometime! I'm a library intern at my high school this semester and I've been thinking about going into museum/archival work. Have you looked into interning at all? I believe most colleges have positions at their libraries for students interested in that.

And of course I remember you - though how could I not? Duck lives on in infamy, I hope!

Joan you amazing crazy person, One Piece is a million years long. Do you like it? I started it last summer but after a few seasons I just couldn't go on. I do miss Zoro though, he was fun to watch.

Hey Joan, good to see you! I don't know if you remember me, but I definitely remember you. Congratulations on declaring your major! Being a librarian is a very important job, and taking a literature major seems super fun! What are you reading right now for school?

Take care of yourself and enjoy your college adventures! Sounds like you're having a real good time.

Hi Joan!! It's great to see you! I'm so happy to hear that you figured out your major. I'm still not sure of my major...Right now it's entomology, but I really don't *love* science--just bugs. PhDs have to write a lot of papers and I have no interest in going to college for that long either, but that's the only well-paying path for entomology that I've found so far.

However I took a bunch of humanities classes this semester and am not loving them. So I probably don't want to switch my major to the arts...I'm still waiting to find the path God has for me.

I have heard of One Piece but haven't watched it! Some animes I watched with my sister/family over the last couple of years are My Hero Academia and HunterxHunter. My Hero is really good if you haven't seen it!

Best wishes for all your ongoing and future projects and classes and aspirations...Being a librarian sounds like a very fulfilling career, to instill a love for good literature in our next generation.

Hi everyone! I don't know if anyone here will remember me/know who I am, but I'm Indigo. I think that if anything remembers me for anything, it would be the deeply unhinged CBers vs. Zombies work I wrote, which as I recall featured about a thousand fandoms, a zombified bowl of oatmeal, and one lengthy description of someone cooking truly terrible eggs.

I was active on the CB from I believe around 2014 to 2017 or 2018; like some other people talked about, I think to a large extent I just grew out of it.

That being said, the CB was really vital in terms of encouraging me to be creative and artistic. For instance, I doubt I would have ever learned what Nanowrimo was without the CB, let alone participate as many times as I did. Even though I have less time to write recreationally, I think that fundamentally I will always be a writer, and that the amount of time I've spent writing has deeply shaped the way I process the world around me. Because of this, the CB will always have a special place in my heart.

General life update: I'm seventeen, soon to be eighteen, and currently a second semester senior. I am perpetually busy—currently with a hellish conglomeration of schoolwork, my job, paperwork, and applying to a gap year program I'm hoping to get into—but I've still been able to find space for the little things, which I'm really grateful for.

Hi Indigo! You were around a lot when I was new, and I really looked up to your writing. I remember there was this one thing you wrote--I don't remember precisely what it was about, but I think it involved someone riding away on horseback--it was so good and it blew me away, and I aspired to reach that level of skill. It's stuck with me for all these years.

Good luck with the rest of your senior year and applications and paperwork! I remember the applications/paperwork at the end of my senior year were the worst part, but thankfully everything calmed down after the flurry of deadlines was over.

!! That really means a lot to me. It's wild to hear you say that, since I always sort of figured I slipped off into the ether and everyone forgot about me.

Thank you!

Hi everyone! I'm Over the Rainbow (OtR for short) and I joined the CB in 2015 (!!) and faded into the distance sometime around 2018. I'm a senior in high school now, and like to spend my time throwing pottery, playing the guitar and writing music, and, of course, reading thick novels.

Though I haven't posted since I was in eighth grade, I talk to some of the friends I made here daily! So I want to thank the CB for introducing me to some of the kindest and most creative people I know. The CB was also the first place I ever shared my writing in a public setting, which was an important step for me on my artistic journey. I'm now seriously invested in the craft of songwriting and hope to release an album someday soon. (Talk to me about riot grrrl punk bands and folk singer-songwriters!) Though I'm a different person than I was as a tween, with different interests, some things really don't change, because I'm still an aspiring editor, and I'm still in love with the English language. I also came out as a lesbian in the years since I've been here, so you can talk to me about that too.

It's great to see all of you!
