Reunion thread! Hey

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Reunion thread! Hey

Reunion thread! Hey everybody! Valentine's Day is coming up in less than a week. Some of you already know this, but if you don't, February 14 is a day for old CBers to come back and say hi. I know I'm a little early, but I wanted to make sure there was a centralized place for old CBers to pop up so that we're not spread across eight threads in all corners of the CB. I'll post a longer, more personal hello once this gets posted, but I wanted to leave the intro pretty short so that we don't all have to scroll through it.

Also, just so it's clear: I'm the one posting this thread, but it isn't my thread! It's just a centralized place for CBers new, old, and somewhere in between to reunite. Feel free to add your own hello's, no matter if you're a visiting or current CBer. See you on Valentine's Day! :)

MICEEEE *big tackle hug* <33333

I know we've kept in touch a bit on other platforms but ahhh! I missed you! Dude, your degree sounds so cool! I bet entomology is so cool to study. And your self-published books are so epic! It must be incredible to be able to hold your own writing in book-form hehe. I don't think I ever finished reading either of those ski lodges, but what I did read was amazing. I'd love to read the rest eventually. It's great to hear you've kept writing, too. You're a wonderful author. Hey, how's your novel going that you used to post on your website? I haven't checked in there for awhile, but I really enjoyed reading the beginning.
Also, your lambs are adorable! *heart eyes*

Hey everyone! I'm Dragonrider (she/her, thinking about she/they). I first posted here in 2015 when I was only 10 or 11. I'm 17 now and a senior in high school. I'm waiting to hear back from all the colleges I applied to and hoping for the best! I really want to study education and become an elementary school teacher, but I also love learning languages. I'm taking Spanish and Mandarin right now and I really want to continue them.

I know I've changed since I first posted here, but I don't feel that different. I'm still obsessed with books, skiing, and music. Still playing the flute and still super shy. This place makes me so nostalgic and I'm so excited to see familiar names on here. Hi everybody and hi admins! I'm glad people are still coming back for Valentine's Day :)

Dragonrider! I remember you! It's great to hear from you again. It's very cool that you want to be an elementary school teacher. Good luck with all your college stuff!!

Hey Dragonrider! Good to see you again. On the education front— this coming from a current ed major— education and languages absolutely go together! That's an incredible strength for any teacher, because you will be teaching students who are English language learners. Of course, teachers can teach English language learners without being fluent in their home language, but having familiarity can do so much to make a child feel welcome in their new school environment. And it's an invaluable asset when speaking with caregivers who are more comfortable in a language other than English!

Hey Dragonrider! I remember you, it's great to hear from you again. Handshake on waiting for college results... the months between January and April are cruel ones indeed.

Hey y'all!! Happy Valentine's Day!

I don't know if anyone still remembers me but my name is Starseeker (feel free to call me Star!). I was on the CB from August 2015-?; I never officially left but I haven't been active since 2019 or 2020. For a little while I also went by the pseudonym 'Shhh... Not Telling' while posting my art, but I gave that up in 2019. I still draw and in fact I'm going to post an updated version of my CBer self in the art thread soon!

In addition to drawing, I'm also still very much into reading. I still read cheesy romance novels, but my current favourite genre is classics. I'm in the middle of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein at the moment, but I've also recently read through James Lane Allen's A Kentucky Cardinal and a few more. My favourite modern authors are Marie Lu, Marissa Meyer (for her Renegades series), and Leigh Bardugo, and my favourite classical authors are Mary Shelley and Baroness Emmuska Orczy.

As you can see from my location and age boxes, I'm 17 and I'm in my second semester of my senior year of high school-- I'll be graduating in about 9 weeks, actually! It's pretty crazy. Right now my plan is to go to college for archaeology or art history, though that's a very flexible plan. I've submitted applications to seven colleges but only heard back from one so far, so I'm not sure exactly where I'm going to go yet, but I plan to make the most out of my college experience! I plan to study abroad as well.

In the last few years, a lot has happened. I've grown out my hair; I've become my school's band president, National Honor Society president, and Academic Decathlon co-captain; I've made some new friends and dropped some old ones. I feel like I've really started to come into myself, and that journey started on the CB and continues every day with the friends I'm in contact with from the CB. So to all my CB friends, old and new: I'm grateful for you! <3

It's wonderful to read you again!  I still remember eagerly anticipating every new installment on your short story thread, and the picturing you did for me.  Thank you for sharing your work with us!

Hey Peregrine!! That's so sweet of you to say. I've actually been thinking about temporarily rebooting that short stories thread to post one of my recent works... not sure if I will, but it's something I've been thinking about. And also, your picturing was one of my favourite ones that I ever did! I'm so glad you liked it too. :)

Hi everyone! Happy Valentines day!

My name is Elvina or Lyra and I was joined here back in 2014-ish (which is really crazy to think about, 7 whole CBversarys!) My prounouns are she/her.

My first interaction with the website was participating in the Crowd-Sorcery Story (The Girl Who Writes the Future) which led me to the rest of the site where I stayed for about two years.

I am currently preping for university where I'll be studiying enviromental studies. I'm still writing, on my sixth NaNoWriMo at 100,000 words, and I'm still reading lots, especially fantasy. I'm currently working as an Education Assistant at a local school and tutoring kids in History, Geography, and Science as well.

Logging back onto this website is just amazing after so long. I'd forgotten how familier it was until I saw the red background on my screen. I spent some amazing years here when I was younger and I learned so much about the writing through the amazing people who were around me.  This is probably one of my favorite sites on the internet.

Anyways, I won't make this too long, but Legolas says deezb

Oh hello Elvina!! Good to see you again! Environmental studies, that's awesome and tutoring!! So cool. Wow, you've really kept writing! I'm glad to hear it. I kind of stopped writing creatively after leaving the CB, so it's always comforting to find out that others are still at it.

Elvina, I'm not sure we ever interacted much, but I do remember you! Man, Crowd Sorcery is such a throwback... I miss those days. Environmental studies sounds super cool. Is there any topic within that field that you're particularly interested in?
