If I were to suddenly meet up with "God" one day, what would I say?  Hmm . . . Probably "Oh, neat!  There really is a guy who sits in the clouds and manipulates things!  Thanks for creating the universe!" and then I'd walk away.  I just don't agree in all the "Oh, you have sinned!  Repent for your sins, or you shall burn in the flames of Hell for eternity!"  I would probably ask him why he never shows his face and why he's so mean to humans.  I'd ask him a lot of things.

If you think God never shows his face, I guess you haven't heard of Jesus Christ.

Right, Mary Jo! And BellaTrix, when has God been mean to humans?

There is no proof that Jesus Christ ever existed.  I think the Bible was written as . . . well, a fairy tale, based on true events.

Julia, don't you think it's a mean thing to do, to tell--Oh, what's his name again??--that he had to sacrifice his son to prove his love for God?  Even if he didn't mean it.  It's a mean sort of test.  What if he had said no?  Than wouldn't necessarily mean he didn't love God: just that he loved his son . . . well, more.  So what?  Isn't that a good thing?
Also the whole concept of "good" and "bad", "sin" and--what's the opposite of sin?--is sort of unfair.  I mean, are things always black and white?
  That's just my opinion.

Jesus is God, BellaTrix. God sacrificed himself for us. I wouldn't call that mean.

How do you know Jesus Christ wasn't just some really great guy that people made a story about?  How can you be sure he was God?  I think the Bible is like The Tales of the Brothers Grimm.  A collection of stories.

How do I know that Jesus Christ is God??? Um, He rose from the dead???? He worked miracles??????? He has appeared to people throughout the ages??????? Isn't that enough????? And how do you explain the Eucharistic miracle in the 8th century in Italy?????? A priest doubted that the bread and wine was actually the Body and Blood of Jesus, because, even after the Consecration, the Body and Blood remain the same in appearance and taste. While he was saying Mass one day, during the Consecration, the bread changed into the actual Flesh, and the wine, into the actual Blood. If you don't believe me, go to Lanciano, Italy. In the very center of the city is the church in which the Living Flesh and Blood of Our Lord's Sacred Heart has rested since the eighth century. Analyses have been conducted with absolute and unquestionable scientific precision, and they were documented with a series of microscopic photographs which were rendered a matter of public domain by the esteembed Professor Linoli himself in a conference held March 4, 1971 in the church of the Miracle. The analyes sustained the following conclusions: 1) the Flesh is real Flesh. The Blood is real Blood. The Flesh consists of the muscular tissue of the heart (myocardium). 2) Thee Flesh and the Blood belong to human species. 3) The Flesh and the Blood have the same blood-type (AB). 4) In the Blood there were found proteins in the same normal proportions (percentage-wise) as are found in the sero-proteic make-up of fresh normal blood.  5) In the Blood there were also found these minerals: chlorides, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. 6) the preservation of the Flesh and Blood, which were left in their natural state for twelve centuries (i.e. without any chemical preservatives) and exposed to the action of atmospheric and biological agents, remains an extraordinary phenomenon.

Oh and one thing, it matched the information taken from the Shroud of Turin, a cloth that is believed wiped the face of our Lord the day he died. (It's in the Bible.)

I got my story from my schoolbook, but you can also find many other stories like these, including my long one, in Eucharistic Miracles, by Joan Cruz.
