POLITICS
Anyone interested in any kind of political discussion? Who do you want to win the election? Who do you think will be McCain's VP choice? What do you think of the candidates?
Sorry if you don't live in the US!!!

Hi Adim! Can I call you the GAPAs? I will.
Can you post this on the one on evolution?
(September 4, 2008 - 4:04 pm)
GAPA! *laughs*
Alternatively we could call them MAPs, OEADs, SCAMPs...
(September 6, 2008 - 1:17 pm)
SCAMPs was trademarked my POSOC, wasn't it?
(September 7, 2008 - 9:09 pm)
Yes, I think so... What's it stand for again? Slightly Crazy Administrator something or other?
(September 8, 2008 - 5:42 pm)
Thank you very, very much administrators!!!! You got this one to slow down, so can you please try it on the one about creation and evolution. It's changing from a conversation to an argument.

Thanks for the note, administrators.
About the discussion: has anyone heard of Ron Paul? He was in the running, but dropped. I think he would have been a GREAT president.

I like McCains politics even if he is a little intimidating. I Especially like his VP choice. I think a woman makes him seem nicer. I REALLY like Palin and I think she might win some hillary supporters.
(September 4, 2008 - 7:16 pm)
My dad liked him too. Did anyone else watch Sarah Palin's speech last night? (my dad had it on.)
(September 4, 2008 - 7:50 pm)
I saw Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention. I thought she made good points without seeming too stiff. (Did anyone hear her joke about hockey moms?)
(September 5, 2008 - 4:01 pm)
Yes! I did. At first, I wasn't going to contribute to this thread, but that was before I heard about Sarah Palin. That made it interesting. I also liked the thing she said about not using change to further her career, but using her career to further change.

My dad likes him, too! I watched Sarah Palin's speech. I think she sounds like she could be a good vice president. I almost wish she were running for president. I am sort of bummed that Obama is saying that the fact that she grew up in and lives in a small hick town, she couldn't be vice president. I live in a small hick town!!! People are not stupid here! It's just small.
(September 6, 2008 - 6:43 pm)
Yay for people from "small hick towns"!! Small hick towns are awesome, mostly because I live in one.
I do like the idea of Palin as vice president... Nice to have a politician who definitely knows some of the sufferings of us lower folks for once. :)
(September 6, 2008 - 11:55 pm)
Totally! I like how she mentioned Hilary Clinton and said "The women of America aren't done!"
(September 7, 2008 - 8:15 am)
Abraham Lincoln came from a small hick town. And he was a great president. I think small hick towns are better than large sophisticated cities to a certain degree.
(September 7, 2008 - 5:31 pm)
Why? Abraham Lincoln came from a different age. I think that Palin might not have enough experience to run the country if McCain were to die. Alaska has about as many people as Memphis, no? She could be great, but I'm not comfortable with that risk. And her wanting to drill her state full of holes in search of oil worries me. You could very well be right about urban snobs though.
