Chatterbox: Down to Earth

POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics!  I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.

However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.

This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)

I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)

So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?

This thread is now closed for new comments.

That was the most wonderfull rant I have ever seen and I totally agree (rest of speech muted by loud cheering and applause).

Also, in case you guys didn't know, bullying is against the law. So, yes. It is a big deal.

What I don't get is that people can crack an Asian joke and get away with it, but they get in trouble if they tease an African American. Like, why?!?!?!

Mei, both are racist and wrong. No one's pain is less valid; some voices are just louder and heard more than others. ~Admin

And I think Trump is a huge bully.

I think it's because of all the problems which African Americans have had over the years, and there's really only one large trouble spot for Asians (when many first moved to America) that people will recognize.

P.S. I actually read a cool book based off of that time period called "Dragonwings". I think you'd really enjoy it, Mei.

People of color face many barriers, Cho. Different groups for different reasons. Some face invisibility, some face outright persecution and hatred, some face immigration barriers, some face religion differences, some face economic, employment, housing, and employment barriers... but all of them face racism. And women face sexism. ~Admin

Yes, I know. And I, for one, should know about sexism. And cliques, too.

We were just trying to say that Asian American people don't face only one thing. :)  ~Admin

I will say one other thing. Men and women are different, and that is the way God made us. However, women should not be excluded from certain things just because they are women.

No, bullying is NOT against the law. Whenever kids bully, what do your parents, friends, and loved ones tell you to do? IGNORE THEM! Only bullying that does physical damage is against the law. Teasing is NOT AGAINST THE LAW!!!! And there is nothing wrong with Trump. I like his ideas. What do you disagree with him on? What do you agree with Clinton on? And what does Clinton intend to do? There is absolutely no way to solve teasing. People are allowed to speak their mids.

I HATE trump and Cruz, so glad that Cruz is out of the race. I like Bernie's ideas, but I feel like Hillary is the best fit for the job. :/ sorry to anyone that dissagrees, this is my opinion.
