Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Whoa. Hamilton is

Whoa. Hamilton is wow. Like, I finally went over to ITunes to listen to some of their songs, and they have some BAD lyrics. I can't believe so many people on Cricket listen to it!

Thankfully, I saw that there was a clean version, so I listened to My Shot and Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story and wasn't impressed. My Shot was like a rap song! I'm not a rap person, at all.

I'm sorry to all those Hamilton fans out there, but I was horrified.

Hey y'all, I'm sorry.

I didn't intend for this to turn into a debate/argument.

I'm too tired right now to defend my position.

Good night.

To all you CBers who are seeing two sides here, Hamilton is a purely amazing musical...that is not so pure. All in all it is an excellent and clever idea, but lots of swearing and other things. I'd say that the first act is more appropriate if you don't mind the swearing.

I love Hamilton, and I think it's a great musical, but I can see why some people might not like it.

Also, Shocked at CBers, I'm 98% sure that I know who you are.

France is following us to revolution,

There is no more status quo!

But the sun comes up and the world still spins...

Like this thread. Seriously, Shocked at CBers?

If you didn't want this to turn into a debate... well, you kinda provoked us. Sorry. There was no reason to make this thread other than to either shame us or debate.

Sorry.

I just caved and listened to a couple of the songs that seem to be all right :P IT'S SO DARN GOOD! I just don't think I would be allowed to listen to anymore...

1. I, personally, don't mind the swear words and inappropriate things. Although I'd rather they not be there, that would never be the reason I choose not to like music.

2. Not everyone likes everything. I just don't like it. I don't like broccoli. My sister likes broccoli. We dorm debate on pros and cons of broccoli because everyone's taste is different, and that would be unfair. It's the same with music, and I'm just not into it. Sharing is caring, but you can't always share interests.

That was by Savvy, and I agree (I do like broccoli, though).

My mom tries to shelter me from everything almost, but she will sometimes curse, and unless they're really bad, I've seen PG-13 movies since I was eleven (stuff like the Avengers, Indiana Jones, things with violence). And we also have the entire James Bond collection, so I've seen all of those before I turned eight (though when the you-know-what part comes on, she's like "ahh, close your eyes!")

It's kinda funny because sometimes I say something, and she's like, "You're not supposed to know that!"

I'm quite rebellious, and she obviously doesn't understand what people do on the internet.

But, it's not like I'm a bad person or anything. If something is just stupidly chock-full of inappropiate stuff, I'm like ehhhh.

So, if I wanted to listen to Hamilton, I would.

It's okay not to have the same likes. They're just opinions!

Also, I think I have finally figured out who you are. I have two guesses.

It's kinda weird because most of the time I can tell who someone is right away, and now other Cbers are making the guess before I can!

Two guesses? Great! That makes 6 people.

Fine. People may guess me if they wish. I won't hide behind this ridiculous name anymore.

Whoa! Okay... going on a rant...

Theatre is not clean. If you listen to most musicals, there is swearing, subjects we can't talk about, and lots of difficult situations. It's part of the magic of theatre.

If you don't swear, then great. I don't swear, personally, but I am fine listening to Broadway music with swearing. It's all about listening with discretion.

And the lyrics aren't bad, some have swear. The lyrics are BRILLIANT. There are nuances, dual meaning, story telling, rhythm, and so much more that is missing in other music.

I've always loved rap (I listen to Christian rap, because secular rap is basically just drugs and objectifying women), and this is a beautiful piece of art.

I would talk forever, but I must go.

Oh, listen to Satisfied. And Guns and Ships. And You'll Be Back. And Take a Break. And the Room Where it Happens.

Then reconsider your opinion.

I'm fine with listening to swearing. It's the other stuff that I don't care for.
