Riddle game!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Riddle game!

Riddle game!

I think this game has been played on the CB before. Here are the rules.

The first person posts a riddle, then the other CBers try to guess it. The first person to guess correctly posts their own riddle, and the game continues. If the riddle has not been guessed after one day, please feel free to post a new one and the owner of the un-guessed riddle can post the answer. Here is the first riddle, its pretty easy to start off with.

If I drink, I die.

If I eat, I grow.

What am I?

Oh, while we're on the subject, answer these three questions without thinking about them too much.

What does a cow drink?

What do you put in a toaster?

How many months are in a week?

Now read them again. Did you answer differently the first time? If not, well done! If you answered milk, toast and seven, don't worry, it's a completely normal response. Maybe think a bit harder next time! How did you go?

Fire.

Here's my riddle: There is one word that stands the test of time and holds fast to the center of everything. Though everyone will try at least once in their life to move aroung this word, but infact, unknowingly, they use it every moment of their day. Young or old, awake or in sleep, human or animal, this word stands fast. It belongs to everyone, to all living things, but no one can master it. The word is?

PS I LOVE riddles, they're like my favorite thing ever... other than books of course.

Is it life? Thats a good one.

I lie in a bed, but never go to sleep,

I run, but never walk,

And I laugh but never cry.

What am I?

I LOVE RIDDLES!!!!!!!!

@Lilypad the first 4 are: Fire, Water, Bread, and 1/4. the second  is A River.

@Epic Fangirl uhhh... I don't know! Now I'll be thinking about it all night!

This is the oldest one in the book, but:

I walk on 4 legs in the morning,

on 2 legs midday,

and on 3 legs in the evening,

what am I?

A man, or in more correct terms, a human from birth to old age.

@Lilypad, I am tired (it's 11:49 pm) so I read those as "How does a cow drink" and I was thinking, by drinking with its mouth? Then I reread it, and I realized what you were asking. My answers were, "Water, toast, and none. Or technically, 1/4 of a month."

You don't put toast in a toaster you put in bread and toast is what comes out of a toaster.

I have one that's kind of a riddle:

What is the only day of the year that is a command?

@Treble Clef- March Fourth!!! I have a person really close to be with that birthday.

1- A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid.

2-Voiceless it cries, mouthless, mutters. Toothless it bites, wingless, flutters.

@Rae Ahhh I know these!

1. Eggses!!! XD

2. Wind, wind of course.

I am reading The Hobbit!

Here is one for you:

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt, cannot be heard cannot be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows afte, ends life, kills laughter.
