Riddle game!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Riddle game!

Riddle game!

I think this game has been played on the CB before. Here are the rules.

The first person posts a riddle, then the other CBers try to guess it. The first person to guess correctly posts their own riddle, and the game continues. If the riddle has not been guessed after one day, please feel free to post a new one and the owner of the un-guessed riddle can post the answer. Here is the first riddle, its pretty easy to start off with.

If I drink, I die.

If I eat, I grow.

What am I?

Oh, while we're on the subject, answer these three questions without thinking about them too much.

What does a cow drink?

What do you put in a toaster?

How many months are in a week?

Now read them again. Did you answer differently the first time? If not, well done! If you answered milk, toast and seven, don't worry, it's a completely normal response. Maybe think a bit harder next time! How did you go?

I LOVE this riddle sooo much. I think it has a very beautiful execution, and it was made by my favourite author!!! (hehe SJMaas, <3)

There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet,

And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet.

At times I seem to favour the clever and the fair,

But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare

By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet,

But scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat

For though each of my strike lands a powerful blow

When I kill, I do it slow...

What am I?

@Kestrel

First of, I LOVE SJMAAS TOO!!!!! LIKE SO MUCH!!!! I just started reading aA Court of Thorns and Roses and I've already read the Throne of Glass series. i'm guessing this was from ACoTAR because I don't recognise it. Sorry if I'm turning this post into fangirling, I just couldn't help myself.

Second, I have a guess. I'm not positive, but I have a guess. Guess 1: Ambition, Guess 2: Dreams, and maybe power, but that doesn't really work with the second line., Or the last two.

Yes, it's said by the woman that is mentioned in the book that both Lucien and Tamlin seem to be terrified of.

You'll find the riddle a little ways into ACOMAF.

Also, none of the answers so far are correct. Honestly, I wasn't able to figure it out 'til Feyre said the answer at the very end. And then she--- NOPE! NO SPOILERS, JULIA. YOU DO NOT GET TO RUIN THE MOST AMAZING ENDING EVER FOR ANYONE.

I'm gonna go before I spout all of the amazing things that happen in ACOTAR bk 2.

So the chicken riddle is this:

If a chicken told you, "All chickens lie," then would the chicken be telling the truth?

Myles said the chicken is a liar.

Well, let's see.

The chicken said that "all chickens lie," so if he was telling the truth, then his statement would be a lie, so his statement that all chicken lie would be a lie, but it would also be the truth because he said that and he told the truth that all chickens lie, but-

Let's stop there. Because here's the answer:

CHICKENS DON'T TALK.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHJOBFGJWIGPBUIEPBUVIPBJKDLVBJWIEPGUE:GHWIU:GHEWIUP

Alright, I'm sorry. I'm calm-ish-er now. ;)))))

Well, I say the chicken is lying either way. (Considering the chickens can talk) if I told you "all humans are liars," we all very well know that is not true, there are many truthful humans out there. Me saying that however is a lie. this doesn't mean anything though. Just because I'm a liar by saying this doesn't mean everyone else is a liar. So the chicken is lying. If you want to look too much into it.  Sorry xD

I think that comparing that to humans is a bit broader, though. XD

A snake, they smell with their tongue and sort of see with their nose. Snakes are weird, like me.

@Epic Fangirl

A woman lay in her hotel room, sleeping, when she was awoken by the sounds of someone knocking on the door. She  about to reply when the door opened and there was a man standing in the doorway whom the woman did not know. The man looked startled and told the woman that he thought this was his hotel room and left down stairs. The woman cautiously reached into her pocket and called the police to come and arrest the man, thinking he was a up to no good. What made the woman so suspicious?

The man knocked. You don't knock on your own hotel room door.
