Halloween costumes!

Halloween costumes!

Halloween costumes!

Alright my dudes. *Rubs hands together maliciously*

I need suggestions what to wear this Halloween, and I thought others would too! So here is where you can share your previous or present costumes, and give suggestions to me and fellow costume slackers lol.

So last year I was Spiderman, as his “homemade” costume in Homecoming. I make all my costumes myself, and this year I’m wavering between multiple costumes. I thought about a cowboy, so I made the holster (I already had the old timey gun), but I stopped and instead began to make another spiderman suit. I finished the stealth mask, but haven’t finished the rest. So now I’m thinking of being The Scarecrow from Dr Syn: Scarecrow of Romney Marsh (It’s a really good old Disney movie about a smuggler.) Idk. I’m kinda into historical eras... but I’m really not sure.

So if anyone has any suggestions feel free to add on!

Omgoodness, I'm so excited for Halloween!!!! :)

I seriously don't think 17 is too old for Halloween; I love dressing up as someone besides myself. Any excuse to dress up and go over the top is like, super duper fun for me.:)

Last year, I went as my dream costume: I dressed up as the Phantom of the Opera from, you guessed it, the Broadway Musical "Phantom of the Opera!!" It was my best one yet, and it made me so very very happy!! :)

When I was younger, I've been a ghost, a pirate (Aubrey O'Shea, the sassy pirate princess! XD, The Queen of Hearts, Smarty Pants, (which was another costume I absolutely LOVED!) and more!

For Phantom of the Opera, I borrowed one of my friends shirts and it was super cool because it had frills on the front and looked very victorian style, and then I wore black leggings and black boots, and I had a black jacket and a very flowy CAPE! (which I got at goodwill.) :) It was my best costume yet! :) My Dad facepainted half of my face, and so I definitely looked like the Phantom.

As I've gotten older, I have had to make my own costumes like I did with the Phantom of the Opera last year.

When I was a "smarty pants," I took an old pair of jeans I didn't need anymore, and created 2 big HUGE "smarties candy" using a roll of bubble wrap and sticky foam pastel colored things, which I wrapped around the bubble wrap, and then used plastic to wrap around THAT, and glued the logo "smarties" onto the big candy smarty. And THEN I glued the 2 huge smarties to my pant legs. :) I also made another huge candy smarty for a heaband, and used white ribbon to go on my hair with the 3rd huge candy smarty. I wore a white long sleeved shirt (it gets SUPER cold here during Halloween,) and an actual candy smarty necklace. :)

Another year before, I was a sort of harvest fairy, I had this beret I wanted to use because I had never worn it before, and it had a bunch of fall colors on it, so I incoroportated it into my costume, and I wore a dark orange sweater (which was SUPER CUTE,) jeans, and brown boots and then I drew a pumpkin on my cheek with the vines growing out, and carried a "harvest basket," as my trick-or-treat bag. When people asked what I was, I would tell them that I was a harvest fairy. (Originally I was going for the "Pumpkin Man's daughter," but a harvest fairy worked too. :)

2 years ago at school I didn't have time to do anything much, so I grabbed some face paint and wore all black, black boots, leggings, black shirt, black sweater, grabbed some cat ears and a tail, and drew whiskers on my cheeks and black on my nose, and pretended that, no, I wasn't neccessarily a black cat, I was either Blake from RWBY, or a female Cat Noir from "Miraculous Ladybug." :) (I also curled my hair and wore some dangly earings. I like going over the top when it comes to things like Halloween. XD )

This year though, I'm going as another one of my dream costumes and I'm SUPER excited because my brother and his friends are going along with this idea too: We are all dressing up as HOLIDAYS!!! :)

I'm a COMPLETE hopeless romantic, so of course I HAD to get Valentine's day!!
So yeah, I'm going to be dressing up this year at Halloween as what I think Valentine's day would look like as a girl. If that makes sense. :) I'm super excited!!!

Wow, everyone’s costumes sound amazing! I thought about being the Phantom, but then went as Nick Wilde from Zootopia lol

SO! I have officially decided I’m going to be Marty Mcfly from Back to the Future! I painted my skateboard to be the hover board. Hopefully the pic shows up.

YES, HALLOWEEN COSTUMES!

I love Halloween costumes so much, I've been making my own forever. I remember I was literally  a hot-air balloon in third grade. It was kinda weird, but I got the idea from a book. (If you're wondering, it was a basket with the bottom cut out, with a tomato trellis glued to the top, and a beach ball on top of that.)

Anyway, in 6th grade (2 years ago) I was the night sky. I got a skirt that sort of had a normal fbaric piece with sheer fabric over it, and glued a ton of fairy lights to the fabric, under the sheer so they shined through. Then I put on a navy blue long-sleeved shirt and put some silver sparkly eyeshadow all over my face. It was really fun, but no one got it.

Last year, I was a peacock, which may have been my most successful costume yet. I got a bunch of fake feathers from amazon, and then hot-glued them to a circle of cardboard. Then I hot-glued a piece of felt overtop of that, to hide the ends of the feathers. I glued some ribbons to the cardboard, to act as straps so I could wear it like a backpack, and dressed in peacock feathers. It was just the right amount of effort and everyone got it. Also, yes, it was kind of an homage to my old CB name :)

This year might be one of my most simple costumes-- I'm going to be Eurydice from Hadestown, and my friend is going to be Orpheus. I got a black lacy dress and a long coat and some costume jewelry from a thrift store yesterday. I'm excited, even though no one will get it.

I've also been a phoenix and an elf (elf ear advice-- use masking tape and makeup, it's way easier than buying elf ears, I always go with this one friend of mine, and this will be the first time since elementary school that he's not going to be a Be More Chill character (he was Michael Mell last year, and the SQUIP the year before that.) This year's he's going to be Taako from The Adventure Zone, and I don't think any more people will get it than the last few years. (@Viola? if you're still checking this thread, I have now finished The Stolen Century, but due to technical difficulties I can't get the finale for three days, so I will be very hyped by the time I finally do finish it.)

I can't wait for Halloween, this might be my last time trick-or-treating!

I didn't love Stolen Century, but I liked the expostition it provided. Griffin is a great DM, but a not-so-great game maker. Yes I am on NaNo, but I've never used it before and am in need of some assistance for how to work the website.

Once I went as Harry Potter, but since I'm a girl, everyone thought I was Hermione and just wore glasses, even though the glasses were fake and just part of the costume. I think part of it was because my scar kept rubbing off...
