The 13th Mission

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

The 13th Mission

The 13th Mission

You are in your bedroom one day when a letter is slipped under your door. You open it, thinking it might be a note from your sibling, but it's not. It's something...different. You read it multiple times, puzzled.

Dear Reader,

Hello. My name is Miss Mystery, but you may call me Mysty if you'd prefer. I need your help. Someone very important has gone missing- their name is classified information, so we will call them GoldEye for now. Please, will you help me find them? If you say yes, you will get coded letters from them every now and then, and it will be your job to help me decode them. There will also be challenges you must do to get closer to Clues, extra codes that are easier to figure out. Please give me your answer by May 3rd. If we don't have at least 4 people by then, I will extend the date slightly.

Thank you, you have been more helpful than you could ever know.

~Mysty

Up to 6 people can come to this. Please do this as yoursleves and not a character. It is inspired by Liberte and Basil's Ski Lodge, but it is not a Ski Lodge. I'll add anything I've forgotten later, here is the sheet to sign yourself up:

CBer Name:

Gender/pronouns:

Guess who I am (you can make as many guesses as you like throughout the story, so don't worry if you get it wrong):

Thank you, we'll be starting soon!

Here's the real part five (the last one was 4, I lost track) but I guess I should tell you guys that I am Periwinkle. Pangolin guessed me, and I thought I was so smart! Ah well, I like writing as Mysty, so I think I'll keep writing as her for the story.

Part 5
A Memory
If you ever needed a laugh or a smile, Anna Kendrick was the girl to go to. Even as a child she could make people grin at a dad joke or a pun. Everyone thought she was charming and sweet and wonderful.
Her sister was different though. She had albinism, making her look pale--even her hair was white. She didn't have very good eyesight, but she refused to get glasses. She waited until the girls' father said she was old enough for contacts. Anna thought her sister was beautiful from head to toe, but her sister, who everyone called Ghost Girl, was only proud of her striking blue eyes.
Nobody but Anna and Ghost Girl seemed to notice the eyes she was so excited about. Everyone made fun of Anna's sister, though they were perfectly nice to Anna.
One day when the girls were about 12, their parents drove them up to New York City. They got a fancy hotel suite and admired the snow that fell through the November air.
The next morning, their parents explained that they were going to see a play on Broadway. Anna was ecstatic. She had loved preforming in plays at school. She usually got the lead because of her beautiful singing voice. Ghost Girl never even auditioned, but she always went to see Anna and tell her how amazing she was.
The play they saw was called Wicked. It was a sort of fractured fairy tale about the Wizard of Oz, talking about the Wicked Witch, whose name was really Elphaba, and Glinda the Good Witch and taking them through the true story.
Elphaba was born with green skin. Everyone was scared of her and nobody liked her and she didn't like anybody, except for her little sister.
Glinda was beautiful and popular. Everybody liked her, and she mostly liked everybody.
After the play was over, Ghost Girl said she was sort of like Elphaba. She said that Anna looked like Glinda, but that Anna was kinder. So from then on they called each other Elphaba and Glinda, as a sort of way to say that no matter how different they looked, they'd never stop being best friends. No matter what, they'd always be there for each other.
Always.

That's such a sweet story! I don't quite know how, but I feel like Ghost Girl is going to be really important.

Also, I never really noticed this once before, but this is called the 13th Mission. What about the other 12? What happened? How did they end? Why does there need to be a 13th?

This is great so far, Mysty/Peri! I'm so glad you keep topping the thread. Don't give up!
