Rogue~

Okay, I'll admit the decorations were nice.

The setting was pretty, and the balloons were colorful. Whoever had been in charge of decorations did a very good job. 

But whatever. I wasn't in the mood. What was Peri thinking, sending me to the party? She knew all I ever did was ruin things. That was my job. I was the grouch of the group. Quinn called me the "Anti-Chai." But Peri saw something in me, I guess, or whatever. Either that or this "I'm an actor now!" thing had messed with her head. 

Anyway, as soon as we got to the party, Indy ran to a tree and hid under it, Chai ran to the cookies, squished five into her mouth at once, and choked on them, and Quinn, cool, I-totally-know-what-I'm-doing Quinn, started looking for someone to strike up conversation with. 

I frowned and leaned against the snack table. I was determined to have a bad time.

Opal-

I’m both excited and nervous. Last time I went to an AE party was almost a year ago. It was fun, but kind of boring. I didn’t get to read the entire time. I brought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to read this time.

Our little gang enters the party space. It’s pretty, but I’d rather be on a big fluffy bean bag chair at home. We walk over to put down snacks. I brought pies, and Ellerie brought pineapples.

Yang is leading the pack. I’m pretty sure he’s just here so he can destroy things.

“-Hey El, look what I found!-” Yang says to Ellerie, picking up a rock. He throws it at her face. She wipes the dirt from the rock off effortlessly. “:El?:” she throws a twig at him. “-Rather me call you Ellie?-” He teases. “:You? Never,:” she says. It sometimes amazes me that Ellerie isn't nice to Yang, since she's nice to everyone else. But it's because he bullies her. She's standing up for herself.

I sit down next to a tree and take out my book. It’ll be nice to just read for a while. Yang runs over to a young, angry-looking girl to annoy her. I don’t know the names of anyone here.

Scar sits down next to me, and Ellerie walks up to talk to someone I don’t recognize. She read the forms, so she probably knows the names of everyone. I don’t know how she’s so comfortable talking to people.

I hope this party is relaxing. But something tells me that’s not going to be the case.
