I take a deep breath and try not to panic, but how can I not?! Two people have just sat down by a tree... MY tree! I CAN'T let them notice me! If they notice me, they'll want to talk to me, and I'll have to talk to them and--

Okay, Indy. Stay calm. Breathe. They're on the other side of the tree. They haven't seen you yet. As long as you are very quiet, they'll go away eventually. Just go back to your sketchbook. That's right. Keep drawing. Yeah.

THUMP. My elbow hits the side of the tree loudly. Eek! 

Maaaaybe they didn't notice?

One of them turns around. They definitely noticed.

Welp, I'm dead.~*

Hey, Starli if this was unclear I was referring to Opal and Scar. They don't have to talk to Indy, if you'd rather they don't just... disregard this... 

I wake up in a tree. Music is playiing. I hear people talking. I realize that the party started. How am I still late if I got here early?

I slip down from the tree, and, silently as I can, observe from the shadows. I decide to check out the snack bar. (Wolfy, you're not supposed to be here. This is an AE party. Why are you laughing? There is no dam involved!)

I bring a chocolate chip cookie back with me, then ascend my tree once again. I'll just watch, for now. Maybe scout out a not-too chaotic conversation. I notice a girl in a blue hoodie and jorts under a tree across the clearing. After wondering if I'm overdressed, I notice she looks uncomfortable.

I hate to see someone who's not having fun at a party, so I make up my mind to try and socialize with another tree hermit. Trying not to startle her, I walk up and softly say, "Hi there."

[Peri, may I?]

*~"Hi, there."

I'm distracted from the two people on the other side of the tree by a gentle voice. I jump and turn around to see a girl, about my age but possibly a bit older than me, smiling sweetly at me. She has silver streaks in her hair that match her silver wolf ears and tail, and she dressed up for the occasion, making me wonder if I underdressed. I panic for a moment but manage to choke out, "*~Uh, h-hi. I-I'm Indigo--I mean, um, Indy. You c-can call me Indy. If you want. Uh, what's y-your name?~*"~*

Of course you can, Wolfy! I am excited to see where this conversation goes.

I appear to be late. Whoops. Personally, I don't mind a bit less interaction with people, but it it rude to show up late. I hurry into the garden and set the slices of rye bread and teapot full of green tea on a convenient table. My sister, Gallium forced me to come, but I might as well make the best of it. 

Hmmm, that girl [Rogue] looks just as annoyed to be here as I am. I go stand next to her but make no move to speak first. I sample some pie.

This is really short because I don't have a lot of time right now, but I just want to get my AEs to the party, and I'll write more later. :D

~Lore and I arrived at the party. There were already several AEs there, and I didn't recognize any of them. Lore, of course, immediately located the snack table, and ran over, his combat boots kicking up tufts of grass. I followed, the plate piled high with oatmeal cookies balanced precariously on my arms. I set it down beside a platter of mini-hamburgers.~

~I warned Lore not to eat everything on the snack table, and then walked over to a tree and sat beneath its thin branches. I'm pretty sure it was a magnolia, its light pink buds just beginning to blossom. Subconsciously, I started to fiddle with the yellow ribbon tied around the waste of my jumpsuit, twisting it around my finger until the tip turned red.~

~As I watched Lore launch himself into the air and perch on a sturdy branch of a tall tree, I wondered what exactly I was supposed to do at a spring party. Was I supposed to introduce myself? This was my first party. Heck, it was my first time interacting with AEs that weren't pangolin's. I just hoped I was doing this right.~

~I set my chin in my hand, resolving to wait until the opportunity presented itself. Until then, I was content beneath the blush-toned buds of the magnolia tree, letting a warm spring breeze wash over my face.~

I see the person on the other side of the tree. They look shy, so I don't bother to talk to them. I do go to the snack table, though. I'm pretty hungry. I just hope no one talks to me...

:Yes, I did read the forms. But upon arriving (whoa. Fancy words) I forgot who everyone was. So I walked up to talk to someone but decided not to. That's fine, though. There are trees! I can climb them.:

:Orrrrr I can go talk to Tempest. I want to, but I don't want to seem clingy. Would it be considered clingy? I really want to talk to them. But at the last party I did that immediately. Ah I really don't know how to do this. I feel stupid.:

:So I climb the tree. It's a tree no one is sitting under. I don't wanna bother people. I climb all the way to the top, to the tallest point. I can't stand on it, since it's not a perfect tree, and the tallest point is the end of a thin branch. So I hang up upside-down from there like a sloth. I quickly get bored, but I stay there anyways.:

:But I guess I can't go anywhere without making a spectacle of myself. I hear a snap of the branch, and I fall out of the tree. It's not a high tree, so I'm fine. It's embarrassing. I hope no one noticed. But it was loud, so someone definitely must have.:

"I'm Sylvia," I say, giving an awkward little wave. "Want some? I'm glad there are enough of these to fuel my chocolate addiction." I chuckle and break off half of the cookie, offering it to Indy.
