you awaken sitting on the fountain.

the fountain? no, that's not right. you've never seen this fountain in your life. it's pretty. it looks like it's made of gold, and the water is so, so blue. 

you become aware of the fact that you cannot seem to remember how you got to this fountain, or this town. you can remember very little, in fact, just some simple things about yourself. you reach into the depths of your mind, knowing this is probably going to cause a gl-gl-gl-glitch-

your name is Project 1014-9. if anyone asks you your name, however, you are supposed to say that it is Lola. 1014. Lola. 

Lola is a pretty word, you decide. it is to your understanding that it's usually used as a girls name. does that make you a girl? you do not know. 

you remember how many years you have been alive. how old you are? yes. though mostly they say "this project has been running for..." 15 years. you have been running for 15 years. you are 15 years old. 

you reach up to your neck and feel a small chip in it. you know there are words on this chip. the words say your name, and the name of your Home. 

in your other hand, you hold an origami butterfly. you know it is connected to the person you're here for, but you are not sure how. 

you look down and see you are wearing a purple t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. the sneakers feel strange on your feet, which are used to being bare. the jeans are a size too small. and you do not like purple. 

your hair is long and straight. it is red. that is all you know about your appearance. if you wish to learn more, look for a mirror.

you are famished, and know there is money in your pocket. you walk into a cafe near the fountain and order something called pan-cakes. you hope they taste good. 

while you are sitting at a table and waiting for your food, someone walks in. a beautiful girl. she is about your age, with long brown hair in a braid and brown eyes. she wears a white sundress and sandals. she orders her food and sits at a table across yours. she is carrying a purse, from which she pulls small, square sheets of paper with pretty patterns on them, and begins folding on of them until it suddenly resembles a stag. origami. you look down at the butterfly in your hand. something clicks in your brain. this girl's name is Olive Francis, though soon it will become 1015-6, if you do your job right. and you know that you have to do your job right.

back to the Down to Earth

this will be revealed in the future. if you are confused, that's exactly what is supposed to be happening because it's supposed to be super confusing. 

the further you get into the game, the more answers are revealed to you. if you are someone who likes to solve problems, however, analyze. I can't lay out the answers for you right now, but I have put in clues and information that might come back into the story later. see what you can put together, and you can share your theories if you like. good luck.

you and the group enter the local thrift store, which has been organized by the employees into various different sections:

- jackets and sweatshirts

- sports clothes

- pants

- true vintage clothing

- shirts

- dresses  

"you can go anywhere you want," says Olive. "usually when we go shopping we all pick out different clothes to try on and then help each other pick the best outfits." 

Olive heads over to jackets and sweatshirts. Nico goes to look at the true vintage clothing. Annie's already in the sports clothes section. Reese is looking at some t-shirts. Felix is looking at dresses.

you walk over to jackets and sweatshirts, where Olive is looking. 

"look what I found," she says, holding up a red rain poncho. "maybe this will fit you. it'd protect you better from the rain." 
you nod and take the jacket. 
"you can try it on later," Olive says. "I'll keep looking for cute jackets for you." 
"thank you, Olive," you say. she smiles at you, and you smile back. then you turn and head to the vintage section.
Nico sees you and holds up a black leather jacket. "you think I could pull this off?" he says.
you tilt your head. "you already pulled it off the rack." 
he laughs. "no, I mean like would I look good in it." 
"oh." you frown. people are confusing. why don't they just say what they mean? "yeah, I think so." 
"hmm… well, I guess I'll give it a try."
you find a pair of flare pants with a flower pattern on them. 
"those are ridiculous," Nico says approvingly. "you should try them on." 
"okay." you also pull a green sweater off the rack. "I like green," you declare. 
"green's my favorite color, too." Nico grins. "I'll let you know if I see anything else you might like." 
"thanks," you say, heading out of the vintage clothing.

you try on the poncho first and look at yourself in the mirror. it fits fine, and will protect you from the rain. you'll have to thank Olive for finding it.

you can see more of your features now - you've got green eyes and some freckles. your hair is still wet from the rain. hmm.

I don't know why I keep saying "hands down".

you try on the flair pants. they are a size too big. you try on the green sweater, too, which does fit. you leave the changing room and hang the pants on a rack that says "DOESN'T FIT? LEAVE IT HERE AND WE'LL PUT IT BACK WHERE IT BELONGS!"
