First day of

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

First day of

First day of fall! :D Hey everybuggy, tomorrow is the first offical day of fall! I'm so happy it's finally here; fall is my all-time favorite season. :) We're in Northern CA right now, so the weather most likely feel like fallish tomorrow (I love sunny CA! :)) but my mom, siblings and I might make caramel apples, which would be totally awesome. I'll try and post some fall themed photos I took later, and any of you other buggies who have some photos to put us in a fallish mood, post those too! :) What are everybuggy's favorite things about this season? I love the colorful, warm colors of the leaves, being able to wear cute socks and sneakers, the warm yet cool weather & the fall holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, my mom's birthday, my mom & dad's anniversery and our birthday! :))! Happy fall everybuggy! :)

(Ha, ha, I used the word fall a lot... :))

Chatterboxers, did you know that this week, Jupiter is appearing in the night sky near the full harvest moon? It's the brightest thing you'll see near the moon. This week (September 22-25, 2010) Jupiter's the closest to Earth since 1960-something! If you look through binoculars, you may be able to see a red spot. I just did from our front porch! Cool!

Admin!!!!!!!!  I saw THREE of Jupiter's MOONS!!!!!!  It was so amazing!!!!!!!!!!  They were so beautiful!!!!!

Wow! You must have a telescope. There's still something bright in the sky here. I'm thinking it might still be Jupiter, but I'm not sure.

Actually, I'm going to ask for a telescope for Christmas!!!  I was using my Dad's binoculars.  He only buys the best.  I'm really amazed though that I was able to see them, since usually I move too much.  But this time I sat on the ground and rested my elbows on my knees.  It was so amazing.  I just wish I could have gotten a better zoom.  I couldn't see the colors or anything, just faint little pinpricks of light.  But it was so beautiful, I actually got a little teary eyed.  Of course, that may have been due to the fact that I was also looking at the moon and it was awfully bright.  But that, oh!  It was so so neat!!!  I saw the mountainous edge of the moon!!!!  I could actually see the surface texture on the bottom edge!!!!!!!!  Now that... was just the best.  :D :D :D :D

My two things I want for a big present this Christmas are a mannequin for dress making, or a telescope... and as much as I love to sew, and have been planning to have a mannequin for a year, I think I'm leaning towards the telescope now.  :)

I just moved to West Virginia last winter, so this is my first fall here. It's beautiful!!!!! The leaves are turning brilliant reds, oranges, golds, and yellows, so it's as if the forest is on fire. The weather has been surprisingly warm; it was in the 80s earlier this week. I love decorating the house for Halloween, mostly because of the candle scents. We have a clock that makes spooky sounds instead of chiming. It's pretty cool, but I don't like the mad scientist.

I've decided that the "turning" seasons are my favorite, that is, spring and fall. Somewhere on the east coast is probably the best place to see scenic fall landscapes, and I think North Yorkshire, England is the best place for spring. Except when it's rainy. Blech.

Is anyone else dressing up for Halloween? : )

I am!!!!  I'm actually making my costume!!  I'm going to be a pirate.  Though... if I can't get the costume done in time, I'll switch to a little Swedish girl, because I just found this amazing dress today!!!  It's super cute.  I'm excited either way!  I love Halloween!!!!

Yeah, I think spring and fall are my favorites too.  Which is funny, because I know these two girls named Spring and Autumn.  :) They're sisters.

I think we'll 'accidentally' go out for dinner on Halloween. No one's in the restaurants, see. All the ghoul masks kind of bother me, and I don't really want to hand out candy this year. I kind of do want to hide in our tree and throw candy at people, though. I've wanted to do that for three years, and I've never been able to. :P

Yeah. I don't really do the trick-or-treating thing. . . .

I don't care for the gruesome costumes either. I'm being a tiger this year, which might sound silly for my age, but oh well. We died some white sweats orange, and we're going to make stripes out of black duct tape. Then we'll make a tail, and I might attach paper ears to a headband. And then, I will use my face painting skills to . . . paint my face. Tada! (Sorry about the lame ending.)

I've never really done much trick-or-treating either. Maybe just a few houses. My church does a trunk-or-treat though. That's so much fun! Everyone gives out candy from the trunks of their cars.

Throwing candy at people from a tree, hmmm . . . That could be interesting!

Heehee, Lav, you should come to my house.  I have (seriously) THE best climbing tree in the world.  And it hangs out over our sidewalk.  Perfect for throwing candy.  :D

Well, ok, it's not THE BEST.  But it comes really really close.  The only reason it's not top, is it doesn't go very high.  I mean, it's high  enough to see on top of our porch roof, which is pretty high, since it's on the second level, but I'm sure there are higher (slightly better) climbing trees.

HOWEVER!  You are not likely to fall out of it and become paralyzed liked poor Pollyanna.  :)

(Z.A.R. says: zedd.  Could she possibly be talking about the grandfather from the Waltons?)
