Camp NaNoWriMo is arriving!

So.  Who else is doing Camp NaNo (there's already been a discussion of this on a different thread, but in case this slipped past anyone's eye...)?

Me! Meeee! I am! Although I seriously have no idea what I'm going to do this year. My brain is all stretchy like bubblegum and I can't think of anything. So I'll probably wait until April 1st and then write a bunch of words that don't make any sense until something happens.

Yava says pitg.

Me too! I'm SO excited! EEEEEKKKKKKK! Cramming writing into every spare second lately, though, I haven't quite thought of what I'm going to do. Opinion time!

My thought: It's a twist on Peter Pan. A friend and I had orginially made this up in a game, and it evolved into my wanting to write it into a story so...

The main character is a girl named Dehlia (rather fond of this name). She is really the sister of Peter Pan. Lives on Neverland alone, because... The crocodile is dead, the indians and the mermaids are mysteriously vanished. Hook got sick of trying to catch Peter, and TRULY went after him with a vengence (more so than ever). "Killed" Peter Pan. Hook leaves Neverland. Dehlia parents die, she's worried Hook will find her, want to kill her. Flees to the one place Hook vowed never to return. Neverland.

So, from there you can use your imagination, guess what will happen, though, I'm about to drop TWO bombs on you, which I will go ahead and say. One: (this is rather dark but oh well) Hook had MURDERED Wendy, John, and dear beloved Michael. Two: (biggest yet) Hook... HAS A DAUGHTER!!!! Mwahhaha! Oh yeah, third bomb: (this is the biggest actually) Smee was really the mastermind behind it all. HE is really evil! Considering even mind control! Hahaha!

So, yes, no, maybe? What do ya'll think?

I love the name Dehlia too!

The idea for your story sounds great.  It sounds a lot like a story I'm writing as a serial.  I posted it online, if you want to read it.

Whoa, I Love it!!!! It sounds super cool! though I like the second bomb best!!! About the game turning into a story thing. Have you ever noticed that all games you play, are really like writing a story? Though different of course. :)

It's an online program that challenges you to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days. What we're talking about here is Camp NaNo, which will happen in April. Usually it's in November.

Of course, you don't have to write 50,000 words (Camp NaNo now has adjustable word count goals!) and you don't even have to write a novel. Last summer I went all NaNoRebel and (tried) to draw out 1.66 comic pages per day, so I would finish the month with 50 luvverly pages of panels that make little-to-no sense. I failed epically. But it's okay, for now I have six pages of panels that I have no idea what to do with. So I started Live Wire on SmackJeeves. It has yet to open :)

If you're interested, the website is nanowrimo.org (campnanowrimo.org is for camp, obviously), and if you would rather do the Young Writer's Program, the website is ywp.nanowrimo.org.

TOP!

I'm doing a story that is kind of like a mix of Astrid Lindgren's The Red Bird and Mermaid's Blood in the March Cricket.  But I'm not plagiarizing, because there's other stuff happening, too.

Well, hi there, I haven't been on the CB in forever.

I might do Camp NaNo this year, but I'm not sure... my username is alex.dragonlover, if anyone's wondering. I think I'm already writing buddies with Ivy, L, and SC.

@L: I watched Death Note a while ago. I never realized the significance of your username until now.

@Blonde Heroines Rule: Your story sounds really cool! As you can probably tell from my location, I'm a fan of Peter Pan.

P.S. Due to the fact that it's really hard to do stories and RPs when you have to write two essays at the same time almost every week AND try to understand stupid algebra problems, I doubt I'm going to be coming back to the CB until summer. :( I wish I could...

My username isn't really harkening to DN... more like my first initial and the fact that I seriously love that character.

My username is IvyLovesDragons, for now. I will probably change it for November NaNo.

@Blonde Heroines Rule: I looked for you, but you didn't come up. Are you signed up for Camp NaNo yet?

@ Ivy; Yes, I've also requested a cabin with Gollum and L. We've all had trouble finding eachother.

I found you and requested you as a cabinmate! If you want to find me, my username is Bang. You can't really search for me (I tried) but you'll know it's me because my profile picture is of Robin. Also I kind of announce to the world that "I am L. Who be you?"
