Genius RP

In this RP, we will all take on the difficult role of being geniuses. The first part of the RP will be about our everyday lives. Then,  we are all accepted to this school for gifted chldren. We live there for awhile and then we have to make it in the real world after about a year or 2 at the school. This RP doesn't really have a problem, it is more of a life in the perspective of RP.

Yeah, but I didn't really think of that when I did the tube thing. And I've wanted a magical message sending chalkboard snce I was five, so that's where I got that from.

Diner. Araxie slipped down the halls, waving to acquaintances, and bumped into a girl.

"Who are you?" Araxie asked.

The girl shrugged. "Maddie."

Jason~

My father leads me toward the school, despite my struggles to keep away. He pushes open the door, and I gasp.

Tons of kids rush through the hallways, most excited for who knows what.

"Hello, Jason. Welcome to your new school. I will take you to your room," a voice behind me said. I nearly jumped, but managed to keep my cool. The voice came from a rather young lady, whose smile slightly creeped me out. I look back at my dad, take a deep breath, and follow the lady.

She leads me to my bedroom, which is quite large. And its colors are childish and cheerful. Very nice color scheme, I must say. A small light green dresser sits by a window, with the same color curtains. The bedcovers of the white bed are a darker green, and nearly make my eyes hurt. The wallpaper a blue, and the celing the same blue. Finally, after enjoying my plenty nice bedroom, I plop on the bed.

By this time the lady is gone, and I'm left alone. My eyes shift toward a tube, and I walk toward it out of curiousity. A clipboard sits beside it, with instructions. Tons of classes are here for me to choose.

painting, creative writing, physics.

I choose my favortite classes, checkmark at the book clubs, and roll the piece of paper into the tube.

I saunter to the door and bite my lip. What should I do? I have no clue where the cafeteria is, and I don't know who does know so I can't ask anybody. Then another thought hits me in the face. There were going to be lots of people in this cafeteria place. And I wouldn't know any of them.

My head begins to swim and I dizzily reach out for the doorknob. When I step into the hall, another girl steps into my path. She looks over my face and smiles.

"Hi! You're a first timer, right?" Even with her sincere look of kindness, I froze. My tongue began to feel limp in my mouth, and I couldn't get the sound out. So I barely nod my head. Jill gives my a look of sympathy.

"Oh, are you twice xeptional?" I shake my head again. "Are you just people shy?" I nod, blushing crimson. My entire body heats up. I need some water.

"Then you'll fit right in here. Well I've got to go find my calculus teacher."

"I thought itt was supper time?" I whisper, my voice barely audible. She somehow hears me.

"Different classes have different meals. Ciao!" she says before heading down another corrider.

And hence I make my first friemd at Brookline.

Araxie was always a presence at meals.

She swept into the room on a hoverboard, her black cape fluttering behind her. She flipped it around and her hood swept over her eyes. She got her plate and sat down next to (insert SE's character's name here.) He looked at her nervously and she laughed.

"Hullo. I'm Araxie. I like theater and I have access to the costume department, so this is my usual attire."

My character's name is Joslyn, and she's a girl.

~Joslyn

I feel the lettuce in my throat get stuck as a girl sits next to me and starts talking. She has a black cape on, and says something about a cosume department. I nod and try to ignore the buzzing in my ears. Faking a small smile, I back away slowly. There are only two tables, so there's no where to hide.

When she lookes down and realizes I've backed away, she gives me an apologetic look.

"Sorry," she says, looking sincere. "It's just, isn't this place incredible?" When she sees I haven't replied yet, she bites her lip.

"Oh, are you autistic?" she says, looking embarrassed. I manage to shake my head. Then I clear my throat.

"No, just people shy." At that, Araxie gives a small sigh of relief. I move back towards her now that I've managed to talk. My eyes wander around awkwardly until they land on her hoverboard.

"Did you make that? That's a Model X of the Bismo, right?" I don't even wait for her to reply. "I tried to make one, but I couldn't afford a lot of the parts. And the model at the muesuem was really small. It took me hours to memorize the build. When I tried to substitute the air flow T for a vacuum pipe, it didn't work out so well. How did you afford the parts?"

She looks at me, a smile planted on he face. "You really know your hovercrafts, don't you?"

"Yeah, but how did you get the parts?" Her eyes dart to the left. Is she trying to get awway from the subject? Realization hits me like a wrecking ball.

"Did you, did you steal them," I whisper nervously.

She laughs. "No, of course not. I just, my parents have a lot of money, that's all." Araxie looks pained when she says it, like she didn't want me to know that.

When I start asking her about the structure and if she figured out how the back of the hovercraft supports the weight of the air tank, she looks puzzled.

"What?" I ask. She looks into my eyes slowly.

"Don't you care that I'm rich? Don't you think I'm stuck up so can't do anything myself?" she whispers anxiously. I smile, my eyebrows lifting towards the glass ceiling.

"Of couse not! That's mostly in books, and in movies."

We talk through the rest of breakfast about our favorite musicals.

Day 1: 2 friends already.

Araxie nearly collapsed with relief. As soon as most kids heard she was rich, they immediately made up an excuse to leave. The bell rang and she went to bed. She had cunningly chosen her classes so they had a little space in between each, so she could nap. Another kid flew in on a makeshift hoverboard before careening into their lunch table. Araxie screamed in elvish and dragged Jocelyn out of the way as the kid's hoverboard exploded partially.

"Who are you?" gasped Araxie through the puffs of steam.

After my heart stops racing, I glance at Araxie and laugh.

"DId you try to use a vacuum pipe instead of the air flow S?" I say between giggles. The boy smiles apologetically.

Jason~

I smile apologetically toward the two girls, rubbing my head.

"I dunno! I didn't have much resources to use," I chuckle, eyeing them carefully. One of the girl's nervously looks at me.

"That could have caused more damage!" she burlted out, coughing in the smoke.

"Oh, I know. But it was a bit of fun!" I reply, raising my eyebrow carefully.

"Name's Jason. You ladies?" I could see one of them blush a deep scarlet.

"Araxie."

"Araxie? Sweet name for a girl who's too careful with vacuum pipes," I carelessly say. Like her friend, she blushes a deep red. I sigh awkwardly.

"Forgive me. I don't mean no harm. Just teasin'." I ruffle my hair, eyeing them causally.

"You're forgiven. My name is Joslyn," the other girl finally speaks.

"Well, it's nice to meet you all." I shift one last glance at them, and carry back to class.

I roll my eyes. If there's ever been one thing that embarrasses me, it's when people try to look good in front of me. I stop for a minute and smile.

"Araxie, we're in the same class now, right?" She enods.

Admin, I apologize, but could you please not post the previous comment I made earlier on this thread? My computer glitched, and it I thought I was on a different tab. My apologies!

OK. Hope I deleted the right message. We can't always get back to the right thread.

Maddie ~

I stride down the hall toward the lunch room. The halls are still crowded and busy. I figured they were most of the time. I stood at an intersection of hallways, trying to get my berings, when someone bumped into me from behind.

"Who are you?" she asked, eyeing me curiously.

"Maddie," I replied with a shrug. I felt self conscious here. Everyone seemed to know what to do, where to go, and seemed completely used to this enviornment. I on the other hand felt like a fish outta water. Before I had a chance to ask her her name though, she disappeared with a smile and a wave into the crowds.

The lunch room was just as crowded and loud as the halls, though in this madness I somehow manage to find an empty table. I almost always sit by myself at home, here was no exception.  I'm used to be an oddity of sorts. Nobody ever thinks the way I do, and I don't mean just being really smart. Nobody ever shared my passions, or ideas, or seemed to think in the same ways I did.

But sitting alone had it's benefits. I liked to stare out and watch people, get to know them from a distance.  I saw the girl I'd bumped into earlier sitting with another girl, seemingly having a good conversation going till some boy came flying into the lunch room, literally, and crashed into their table, causing quite a stir from them and all the tables nearby. I couldn't help but break into a fit of silent giggles.

Once the camotion had died down though, my attention turned toward the window. Afternoon light was fading toward evening, and the sky was just starting to hint with orange. I hardly focused on eating, instead my chin resting on my upturned palm, and my thoughts changed toward the sky. I was determined if I had to be here, I was going to do as much as possible. I wanted to learn as much about lighter than aircraft as possible. I wanted to someday build my own plane. Mom had already been teaching me to fly. There was no age limit on when you could start learning, only when you could solo or get your license.

Before no time though, dinner was over and I was walking to my first. I prayed it would be like my classes back home so I would at least have some familiarity, though to be honest I had no idea what to expect.

Araxie ran down to the lab after dinner. She didn't know that Jocelyn was following her.

Araxie smiled at me, but then broke away. She mumbled something about the bathroom, and I let her go ahead a little.

"Araxie, isn't it time for the next class?" She nods, but shoos me off.

"Tell the teacher I'll be there," she muttered before heading off. Even the little body language I could recognize signaled to me that she was lying.

After she turned the corner, I began to follow, my footsteps silent and almost invisible.

I can't believe I'm skipping class, I think as I crouch behind the water fountain. Once she turns again, I step lightly until I reach the end of the hallway. Araxie is nowhere to be seen.

My shoulders slump in disappointment. But then I realize one of the doors is still swinging a little.

Somehow, I manage to reach the door and peer through the glass. When I don't see anything, my eyes drift to the plaque on the door.

It says LAB in big, bold letters. My imagination begins to twirl at the speed of light, and malicious thoughts whisper to me.

What if she's stealing? Or -- worse?

I lean against the door, not knowing what to do. While I'm deciding what to do, the door falls open with a slow, long creak.

Araxie stands in the corner of the room, twidling something precariously in her hands. When she hears the door, she whips around in a defensive stance to face the intruder. Me.

"Joslyn?" she asks in disbelief. "You followed me?"
