Bad writer???

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Bad writer???

Bad writer???
I'm sulking.  My mom saw my writing and didn't like it.  She said it wasn't original.  She said it was a cop-out.  She said it was--
*suddenly bursts into tears*
*wails*
*sniffle* Does my writing suck in your opinion?  Honestly?  Truthfully?  Really?
I'm not going to be writing for a while.  I need to get my spirits back up.  I might even leave the Chatterbox for a bit.
*waves dejectedly*
*sighs deeply*
*trudges away*
It's one thing to loathe your writing.  It's another when your mom does, too.
Anyway.  Bye.  Thanks for listening to my boring ramble.  I needed to say it.

Maybe your mom told you that because she knew that if you tried hard enough, you could even write better! Maybe she wasn't trying to make you feel sad, but just a weird way of encouraging you! Maybe she thinks that you do write very well, and that you could even do better! Don't worry about it too much, JK rowling (I'm sure I didn't spell her name right!) had to go through 20 something publishers before she actually got one who liked her writing! Now she's rich and famous, and I bet all those other publishers are angry for their actions! They didn't see a bestseller when it was right under their nose! Maybe that's the same with your mom.

Yeah! Bestsellers are almost never accepted first-time by publishers. Loads of people -really famous, really good authors, JKR included - have to send their manuscripts out again and again before someone even reads it. Publishing companies get so many new manuscripts everyday that it would be impossible for them all to be read.

BELLATRIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You are wonderful person!  And you are NOT A BAD WRITER!!

Think about it, if you had listened to your mom before, you wouldn't be on Chatterbox, and you wouldn't have all of us wonderful people as your BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother thinks that everything I write is stupid, or corny, or just plain overly done in a really bad way, but if I listened to him, I would have stopped doing something that I love.  Just because she doesn't like what you write doesn't mean you should stop.  If you didn't enjoy writing, then I'd say, it's not worth it, but if it's something that you really love, don't give up because one person said they didn't like it. Mom's aren't ALWAYS right.  Yes, a lot of the time they are, but sometimes, you need to listen to what's inside, and what you think you should do.  You know what's best for you better than anyone in the world.

And hey, it's almost impossible to write something that nobody has ever writen before!!!!  :)

Don't leave, we need you.  :)

Well, go easy on BellaTrix's mom, okay? I don't want to start a revolt against her parents. I mean, I sympathize with you, BellaTrix, but, well, let's not all get angry at people we haven't even met. And also, if BellaTrix ever shows her mom the Chatterbox, she would probably be in BIG trouble if she read this. :)

Aren't Bellatrix's parents the ones who called us empty-minded? (Short-term memory loss; I don't recall.)

Hmmm. I don't think your mom meant it in a mean way. Maybe she thought your words weren't original...like anyone can say

'Lianna's dress was ripped in three places.' But it's more creative to say 'Her dress was torn, leaving three holes for wind to chill Lianna.'

You know what I mean?

Anyways, keep writing! :] Maybe ask your mom why she thinks your work isn't good?
