Yet another Harry

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Yet another Harry

Yet another Harry Potter RP!

I'm sorry, I know there are millions of RPs, I know there are tons of Harry Potter RPs- but I had this idea, and I really want to put it out there...

A Harry Potter RP.... while Harry's at school!

I know. Brilliant, right?

I just thought, well, we have lots of futuristic RPs, a Marauders RP.... so, maybe we could write an RP about Harry through a normal student at Hogwart's eyes!

Well? What do you think?

It can be any year- maybe we can vote on that- and you should already know all the professors, so...

Here's the sheet!

@ Scylla

*Sighs* English is so complicated! Thanks for telling me how Scylla is pronounced. My teacher told me the reason that sometimes, the English pronunciation rules don't work, is because English is a mix of different languages, while languages like Chinese are pure languages, not having roots from different places.

The thing I don't like about English is that there is always another way to pronounce something, always another way to spell something. Like the word could is spelled C-O-U-L-D, but it would sound the same if it were spelled K-O-O-D, or K-U-D.

Also, in English, the pronunciation of each letter changes depending on the letters next to it. For example, when the letter a is next to the letter n, like the word can, it sounds different than when nothing is after it, like the word ha. Talk about complicated!

@ Mailee

How do you pronounce your name? Is it May-lee or My-lee?

Mailee is pronounced May-lee.

Why can't you? Take some initiative.

Sure, I will, but can you do it too? You're much better at writing than me.
~Mei~
Oh, no! It's 3:58 and I'm studying in the Transfiguration room, halfway across the school from the empty classroom I'm supposed to meet Taika in.
"Professor McGonagall, I'm sorry, I have to leave now." I gather up all my things.
Professor McGonagall doesn't look up from the papers she's grading as she replies, "Goodbye, Miss Ming."
"Goodbye, Professor!" I start out of the room then break into a run, disregarding the Hogwarts rule of, "No running in the halls."
"Taika, Taika!" I dash into the classroom.
The girl looks up.
"I've decided. I've been researching spells in the library, and I think I'm ready."
"-Ready for-?"
"I'm ready to come with you."
-------
It's a little short, but I want you to have some wiggle room in what Taika says or does next.

Thanks so much for the compliment!

Taika~ "Come with me where?" I say uneasily. Mei sighs. "Come on, Taika! Where else would we be going?" I shrug. "To kill Dumbledore!" she exclaims. My heart skips a beat. "NO! Seriously? No! We can't! Why- no- please-" Mei explodes in laughter. "TROLL!!"

I growl. "Mei.... that's not funny." She sighs. " I know... But there's only one other thing I'd be going with you to." I'm confused. "What?" She sighs again. "I'm going with you to-" she stops. The door creaks open and we slowly turn our heads around to see what the disturbance is. It's the pink toad. I mean Umbridge.

Umbridge smiles gruesomely. I can't help but notice how disgusting she looks. I almost mention this to her when she says, "Well, well, well. Meeting in secret, are we?" I glare at her. "Get out of what's not yours, Umbridge. Noho i roto i tenei*." She just smiles again and replies, "That'll be a week's detention, Miss Iti." Outraged, I almost shout, "I'm not breaking any of your little 'educational decrees' and whatnot! This is not a group!" But the toad laughs. "But meeting another student- from a different House, no less- in an abandoned classroom? Detention. Five o'clock. My office. Be there." She walks away. "Whatever," I grumble. "Okay, Mei what were you saying before that- that interruption?"

What does Noho i roto i tenei mean?

Sorry, I meant to include a translation. It means "stay out of it" in Maori.

Lol, Google Translate said it means, "Stay in it". XD

My teacher says that Google Translate can't translate anything longer than a word. And she's right. I typed in Translate in Chinese, "My last name is Zhang" (Not my real last name) and Translate said it meant, "I Zhang". Lol!

In the survey thread, St. Owl didn't list this RP as one of her RPs, so she must have forgotten, but I know how you feel about making reminders. What should I do?

I can assure you that I did indeed mean "stay out of it." I think St Owl is quite exhausted of your reminders and it would do you better to leave her alone for now.
