Yet another Harry

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Yet another Harry

Yet another Harry Potter RP!

I'm sorry, I know there are millions of RPs, I know there are tons of Harry Potter RPs- but I had this idea, and I really want to put it out there...

A Harry Potter RP.... while Harry's at school!

I know. Brilliant, right?

I just thought, well, we have lots of futuristic RPs, a Marauders RP.... so, maybe we could write an RP about Harry through a normal student at Hogwart's eyes!

Well? What do you think?

It can be any year- maybe we can vote on that- and you should already know all the professors, so...

Here's the sheet!

Alright, you got my soft heart. I'm back in.

My idea was that. . . . Never mind. But this task is for Taika and Taika alone, okay? No one else even knows about it. I'll continue soon. Maybe I can convince St. to be back in. That would be good. So, I'll continue with this if I have time.

Sorry, I meant to post! I was writing it...then I was rereading it...then I was editing it...I have problems with writing things and then not posting them. It's a bit in between times with the Mei-Lei-Violet line, but I have it and I'm posting! Also, Violet was originally in fourth year but I'm moving her to third year since Lei and Mei are in third and it'd just work out better.
Violet~
I watch Draco stalk off- with dragon dung in his hair! -and bemusedly realize that a bit of smeared dragon dung might do wonders on the egos of many of the more snooty students at Hogwarts. I am startled from my musings by Mei Ming asking my name.
"Violet Trinnon," I tell her, slightly surprised that she's asking.
The other girl, Lei, mumbles at being introduced. I can't entirely blame her.
"She's the shyest of the shy," Mei apologizes, "I'm sorry about that, too."
I shake my head. "I'm not much better," I say, then instantly redden. I didn't mean that Lei was bad or anything. I hurriedly continue, "Did you see the mirror Draco had? Why would he need a mirror in his book bag?"
Mei laughs. "He probably uses it to check his hair between classes. He'll have a job fixing his perfect coiffure when it's full of dragon dung."
"I did always wonder what he'd look like with brown hair," I offer, smiling tentatively.
"What do you bet he tells his friends he decided to dye it?"
"They'd probably believe every word of it, too." Now I'm laughing too. "Oh, I need to get to class- actually, I think we're in the same Charms."
"You're right, I have Charms with Ravenclaw."
"Let's hope Professor Flitwick is late today?"
We hurry to Charms and slide into our seats an instant before Professor Flitwick walks in through the side door. As he begins, I marvel at Mei: Angry and scathing around Malfoy, laughing around me. And likely the opposite of what everyone assumes she is. I suddenly feel bad for her. So many people either fear the Slytherins or scorn them. But how many Ravenclaws and Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs have I seen that can be as arrogant and rude as a stereotypical Slytherin? I'm beginning to realize the whole House system is a bit unreasonable.
Then I realize I am paying no attention whatsoever to Professor Flitwick's explanation of Summoning Charms. Right, Accio.
It's lucky we're doing this with cushions. I'd be very, very bruised if we weren't. Nonetheless, I leave class pleased, both with my Charms progress and just in general.
That is, until I see the posters in the hall.
The Inquisitorial Squad will be interrogating any students suspected of infraction of the rules or knowledge of such infractions. Students found guilty of disrespecting Educational Decrees will be punished severely.
Malfoy had said he was on the Inquisitorial Squad, and, in this quarter, I believed him. He's mad at Mei. And I doubt he likes me very much, either. Not to mention the fact that there is currently a secret DADA club operating behind Umbridge's back. With Malfoy leading the interrogations, there's no way it'll be fair.

So Taika's the oldest wizard in this RP now? She's 15. Fifth year.

~Taika~

I forge a path through the Forbidden Forest, getting closer and closer to the Core. . . . The thought of meeting the dark presence gnaws at my consciousness, making me wary. I shake my head and continue on. The hoots of owls and things reverberate through the tall oakish trees, and suddenly I hear thundering hooves. Centaurs! I quickly scramble up a tree, hiding my flame-orange pelt as best I can in the shadowy leaves. I can barely keep my tail-tip from trembling as the centaurs rumble past. It's Bane, I think, and that one, the roan one, that I can't remember. The centaurs and I are not on good terms which is why I'm letting out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding as their hooves fade into the distance, I agilely leap down from the tree, my black stripes appearing to lacerate my pelt. I run now, suddenly afraid, to the giant tree in the center of the woods. . . .

A figure is hunched at the foot of the tree, and I hear a hideous sucking noise. Looking down, I immediately wish I hadn't- the thing I had promised to meet was lapping up the blood of a unicorn. The beautiful creature's pure white body was collapsed, eyes wide and glassy. Its horn, silver and spiraling, was chipped at the top and silver blood was splashed all over it. The figure in the cloak slowly looks up, face bathed in shadow save for glowing red eyes. Could Harry be telling the truth? I wonder. Is Voldemort really back? I shake my head in fear, shifting into a human. If Voldemort's not back, then who is this darkness sitting before me?

Leaf of Love is right, Lily, feel welcome to join! Of course the others should agree and all, but I don't think it would interrupt the story flow too much to add another member. You should probably read the previous posts though.

Yes, it's good. Thanks, Lilli, but take heed of Sydney. I saw where you posted on the first age, which happened a long time ago. Read the most current posts to get up to date with us. I give my consent to a new member, as long as you STAY DEDICATED. Yes. Okay.  Hah, we have technically two new members- except I'm an old-new member. I was on here orignally.

Tyler~

As we walk out of the Room of Requirement, I whisper to Mei (or is it Lei?), "I saw you stand up to Malfoy the other day. That was brilliant! I never could have done something like that,"

"It was nothing. They were practically killing that first year. He never would have mad eit out alive," She says sarcastically.

"I've also noticed that you haven't been talking to Lei lately. What's going on?" Before Mei can answer, we stop short. Umbridge is yelling at Filch, who is tacking up a sign saying:

THE INQUISITORIAL SQUAD WILL BE INTERROGATING ANY STUDENTS SUSPECTED OF INFRACTION OF THE RULES OR KNOWLEDGE OF SUCH INFRACTIONS. STUDENTS FOUND GUILTY OF DISRESPECTING EDUCATIONAL DECREES WILL BE SEVERELY PUNISHED. Malfoy is standing next to Umbridge, looking proud. He has a badge on his shirt reading; INQUISITORIAL SQUAD.

"Oh no," Mei whispers.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Malfoy knows that I'm in the DA,"

"How does he know? Why did you tell him?" I hiss.

"Well, yesterday when he was bulling Alex, I had a little conversation with him and it just sorta slipped out. I didn't mean to tell him that I was part of the DA! And I didn't tell him that you were in it."

"What are we supposed to do? You know that he will take great pleasure in turning you in. We can't hide forever." I say, storming off toward the common room. Mei follows me. WHen we reach the common room, it is even colder than normal, probably because it's almost night. The common room symbolizes how most Slytherins are percieved- cold, dark, and unwelcoming, when in reality, most of us are quite nice, if you'd just get to know us better. I'd say the only exceptions to the "nice" thing would be Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy Parkinson. Past that, MOST of us make good friends.

Mei follows me up to the girl's dormitory. I sit on my bed and bury my face in my pillow. THis is one of our free periods, so we shouldn't have to worry about skipping classes. I've never skipped school.

"Malfoy and Umbridge will stop at nothing to drill the information out of us. I don't know what we're going to do," I say. Mei doesn't reply, just gives me a worried look.

~Taika~

This. . . . This creature can't be Voldemort. I won't let it be Voldemort. No. NO! It slowly looks up at me, red eyes glaring, and says in a husky vioce, "You've come. Good girl , I knew you would. Now what did I say I would do? Ah, yes." The voice seems to purr silkily. "I promised you a great reward if you completed one small task for me." I sharply intake a breath. "One, very small task," it continues. "And I will ive you anything- everything- you want in return." It pauses, and I begin to feel uneasy. "The task I have for you, little Taika," the silvery voice says, "is to kill Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."

Dumbledore? I can't kill him! I think outrageously.  But, I'll get anything I want, I reason with myself. Alright. At least I'll ask what I get in return. My voice wavers a little as I prepare to the creature whom I am certain is Voldemort. "What, exactly, will I get in return?" The creture laughs maniacally. "I will let you leave. . . . With your life."

I'm just giving my charries a backstory because I thought it would be fun and interesting.
Lei's mother, Lan Li (Surnames come first in China), was a Muggle-born witch living in China. The school there wasn't great, so they sent her over to England to complete her last year of study.
She fell in love with a Death Eater after she finished school. He pretended to have a different name, so she didn't know he supported Voldemort. They had Lei, but Li found out who he was when she was pregnant with her. She turned him in, then did everything possible without hurting Lei to make sure she looked nothing like him.
When Lei was born, her mother refused to tell her anything about her father. However, Li's sister, Lan Yun (Nevermind how that's pronounced) knew, and she told her daughter, Mei. Mei didn't know she wasn't supposed to tell her cousin about the Death Eater, so Lei knew from age 5.
The two girls went to Hogwarts together, as both Li and Yun thought the education in England was better than in China.
I hope you thought the backstory was interesting, how it was the Ravenclaw who's the daughter of a Death Eater instead of the Slytherin. It also explains why Lei is so shy and trusts almost no one.
