An advisor is just what I need! 

Ok I will join! I have never really done one of these before, but I'll try to get the hang of it. Here's mine:

Name: Collete

Age: 14

Appearance: Long, dark brown/black hair which is a little wavy. Dark green eyes, fair complexion. Often wears navy  blue, black, or dark purple.

Personality: Quiet, laid-back, and an introvert, but has a great sense of humor and smiles quite a bit when you get to know her.

Strengths: She is deadly with a bow and equally deadly with a small dagger, and was born with the ability to read minds.

Other: She desperately wants to join the war, but her mother and father have other plans in mind. They feel that she has expectations to live up to, since her mother is the Queen's sister. They are planning to start lessons with the Royal Instructor at the castle on how to be "proper" and be like her cousins, the "princesses". She used to get very overwhelmed with being able to hear every single thought of every single person all at once, until she met a girl her own age at a festival who taught her how to block out everything except the important stuff, and only when you want to hear it. That girl's name is Gwendolyn, or Gwen, and has been her best friend ever since. So far they are said to be the only humans currently alive who posses these powers.

So let's say Lily is in the same crowd at this time, only not near Mazie.

Well, first day of training, I guess. Or is it the second? Yesterday they had all of the initiates here to test their strenghth, or skill, or something. The worst part? It was those that were wealthy and ready to fight, against those who didn't have a choice. I, oddly enough, did pretty well against my partner, but since my partner was much bigger and more pracitced than me, she won. 

Now, today, when it's girls against boys, I suppose that it could be more fair, but only if you're paired with someone your own size, or strenghth. What I'm not surprized to see was that I was paired with the strongest dimwit in the group. To make worse, not there weren't enough swords in all, so some would have to practice hand-to-hand combat. Guess what? We're going hand-to-hand. I sigh as I see my whole life flash in front of me. 

Later on in the fight, you could say that I was doing pretty good! But, my energy was draining, and Mr. Boulder here looked like he was having the time of his life, swining those arms around at whatever got in front of him. (I.e., me.) I was about to take my last punch, right under his rib cage, when something distracted me. Was that girl leaving? You're allowed to do that? At right that second, a fist came running at my face. Everything went black. When I finally woke up, it was clear Mr. Boulder won.

Just so everyone is clear, Masie was the one that distracted me. 

Can Sebastion be Mazie's partner? Just to make this clear, Sebastion is the prince of Fayry, but he doesn't know it because he was kidnapped at birth by a sorceror but rescued by his dog, Dolphus, who then took him to be raised by a kindly but isolated woodcutter named Peter. He is thirteen and Minerva's long lost twin. Sorry that is so complicated!

Right now Bastion is in the same crowd as the others.

I step into the market place and stare around, gawking. Even in the few times that Peter took me to the village of Aragon, I had never seen so many people. And what a noise! The shouts and groans and clatter of about thirty villagers dueling sounded so unpleasant to my sensitive ears, used to the calm and quiet of the forest. But Peter had said it was the duty of all who could to serve my country in this time of war, though he was too feeble. I did not want to leave him. The old man could barely chop enough would for himself, let alone the timber which he sold for his meager living.

Dolphus nuzzles my leg, urging me to go on. I walk up to the man who looks like he's in charge. "Excuse me, sir," I ask timidly.

"Yes?" he says sharply, turning around and glaring at me.

"Um, I want to learn how to be a soldier."

"What's your name, boy?"

"Bastion Swift."

"Ah." His voice softens. "Peter told me he would send you, but you're late. My name is Mr. Oaken. We're pairing up to learn how to duel, but we're almost finished for the day. Your partner's name is Mazie Hawk. I don't see her at present, but I will have one of my assistants go find her." I nod, and he shouts to someone I can't see and walks away.

I look around at the fighting pairs. One girl lies crumpled on the ground, blood streaming from her face. I shiver. Girls shouldn't be allowed to fight, in my opinion, at least not against men twice their size. I suppose that that's what Peter meant by everyone fighting for their country. No matter. Whoever Mazie Hawk is, I'll have to be sure to go easy on her.
