Pola~

Stay alive, stay alive, stay alive. I tell myself this over and over, hoping that maybe willpower will provide oxygen enough for both me and Kallik until somebody rescues us. Of course, maybe nobody is coming, maybe this is all pointless. But I know that it's not. "Someone will find us, Kallik, I know it." I shiver. A sense of cluastraphobia is beginning to creep over me, along with the cold and hunger that has already taken hold of my body. I need to get out soon. I force myself to calm down, becuase hypervenilating will just take up oxygen. Someone's going to find us. I just know it.

Glad to see you got a new IPod!

Aspen~

"For crying out loud, Chubby, couldn't you move any faster?" I say as I jog across a snow covered field. He is about fifteen feet behind me, and losing energy quickly. I'm tempted to take a break, but I quickly repel the thought. Someone's in grave danger. I think. I have to get there as soon as possible.

I make my way into a valley of ice. I know that I'm close. The wind seems to die down as I plod through the canyon, almost making it seem peaceful. No. Not peaceful. These cliffs are full of lies. Beauty is a trick.

My spine tingles, and I hear a sound almost like someone tapping on a piece of wood. Here. I turn toward a pile of snow, appearing to have fallen down the side of the bluff. The tapping gets louder. I approached the mound cautiously, not wanting to cause any more damage. "Hello?" I call.

After about five seconds, a voice croaks, "Here!"

Leo~

The wooden sword slices through the air towards me and I dodge, leaping out of the way. The sword thuds to the ground and the cheiftan smiles. "Good, good Leo. That's the third time you're succesfuly dodged my blow." He looks around at the others who're still fighting. (We went here to practice dodging blows and aiming them.) The chieftan says, this time addressing everyone, "Now then, we move to the border. And remember, only leather coats. You have to learn to cope with temperatures like that." As we move out, Finn leaps onto my shoulder and whispers in my ear; "What are we doing at the border again?" I whisper back, hardly moving my mouth. "I've told you like a million times. We're going to the border to learn about new terrain. And to practice fighting, sleeping, eating, and living in the cold. After all, some of us might try to go and explore the border when they're older." Finn nods and leans onto my head. As we walk, I get aware that's it's getting colder. The savannah grass is thinning, and patches of snow are appearing. After a while, I notice the sun isn't lookinng golden-yellow like it looks on the savannah. It had turned a pale yellow. And the wind was cold. I stopped and took my knapsack off my shoulers, then I rummaged around in it, finally found a leather coat, and put it on, then I hurried to follow the others. The wind had whirling snow in it now, and I can barely see. When we stopped, I saw a pale blue line, it was pulsing and glowing, and stretched on either way for as far as the eye could see. We were on one side of it, and on the other.... a barren wasteland, full of snow and death. For one moment I felt like it was deja vu, but I could never have seen this place before... I shook myself out of my daydreaming, and sat down with everyone else.

The chief steadily gazed at everyone, then he finally spoke, his voice almost comepletely drowned out by the wind. "This is the border. Or more specifically, that blue line is the border. Now, I want you to set up camp. Once you're finished, we will practice fighting, and then go inside the tents." He continued to sit as everyone stood up and took out the zebra-skin tents from their knapsacks. I see Eo start to unfold his tent, a hard task with the wind blowing every wihch way. As Finn and I struggle to set up our tent, I reflect on how I almost didn't come. I had been awakened by Finn tapping on my nose. He had told me that the others had already gone, and I had to hurry to catch up. I had run as fast as I could to the others with my knapsack and my hastily-tied sandals. Finally we manage to set up the tent. I'm about to throw my knapsack inside the tent when I hear something through the howling wind. "Hee.........heee.... eeellllp.... uuuuu...... ss.." I cock my head. Someone's yelling for help... I look around and see everyone else occupied with their tents. I sling my knapsack over my shoulder and sneak towards the sound. But I come up against the blue line. The cries were coming from the other side. I hesitate with Finn on my shoulder. No one had ever crossed the line. I squared my shoulders and stepped over it.

Flashes of memory fade in and out of my mind. A face, in the arctic. Someone being pushed over to our side of the line.... being in the arms of someone..... the cold of the arctic and then sunlight..

I'm over the line, but swaying. Memories just tumbled into my head. Finn is looking faint too. "Maybe we should go back," he mutters. "Heeeeeeeeeeee.......................llllllllllllll.........ssssss!" The cries come again, fainter. I shake my head. Someone needed help. I stumble forward into the blizzard.

~~~~~~~~
Hey, Leo is hearing the cries of your character Bluebird, and your character, Shadowmoon, how about they got caught in the blizzard. Iiiiif that's okay with you. :)
"Timm!" Of course you can visit Timm's house! Wait wait wait a second.... isn't Timm that weirdo with a chain saw? OH MY GOSH YOU WERE TRYING TO WARN ME TIMMM'S COMING FOR US AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
I'm going to be rescued! I'm not going to die! These are the thoughts that run through my mind as I hear my rescuer begin to dig. It sounds like he's using some sort of tool. He has to be, because the ice that blocks the cave has frozen solid. What's he using, tusks? I crawl over to Kallik and attempt to drag her over to the entrance of the cave. She's lying motionless on the floor, barely breathing. I'm not sure why. My mind is starting to do strange things, and I'm feeling light-headed. I give up trying to drag Kallik and I crawl over to the entrance myself. The scraping sounds from outside are getting louder. I lie on the ground, listening. Listening is all I can manage to do right now. After what seems like an eternity, an ivory tusk breaks through the ice, along with a shaft of sunlight. Summoning my remaining scraps of strength, I pull myself up to the crack in the ice and suck in huge, wonderful gulps of air. The light from the sun is blinding me, but I reallly don't care. "You should probably stand back. We're about to break through." My rescuer's voice wafts in through my breathing hole, and I obey it.  A minute later, I'm glad I did, because an enourmous walrus comes crashing through the wall of ice, scattering crystal shards everywhere. Then a young, auburn-haired boy steps into the room. My brain decides, strangley enough, to register the fact that his hair is different than anybody I've ever seen. Seriously, my rescuer uses a walrus to bust through a wall, and all I can think about is his hair color? "Oh, good, you're alive. I should get you out of here. There's a huge storm coming." "Kallik," I croak. He nods and smiles kindly at me. "Don't worry, she'll be taken care of. I'm Aspen, by the way." I manage to say "Pola" in a sort of hoarse whisper. Then I pass out, and my head hits the floor. My waking dreams are full of walruses, Kallik, Aspen, and a roaring fire.
Also, how about the storm hits us once we leave the cliffs? I mentioned earlier that the storm didn't travel inside the cliffs of ice where that cave is. And a snowstorm out in the open sounds MUCH more deadly than one sheltered by cliffs. Of course, I live in the South, so I don't know much about snow, but that would be my guess.
@Bluebird: btw, can Pola like Aspen? Forgot to mention that in my post.
Luna says ibgn. Luna, you're not going anywhere, are you?
*actually, some of my buddies and I are going to the annual moon howling convention for a few days.*
But who will interprete my capthchas?
@Shadowmoon-
Yes! That is perfect! I think Leo is on the way, too, so we can maybe meet him in the storm??? Also, Pola liking Aspen is fine with me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Aspen~

"Come on Chub, one more push!" I say encouragingly. "You should probably stand back. We're about to break through." I speak through the crack, excitement in my voice. Chubby slams against the ice, finally breaking through. Yes! I walk into the cave, and see a girl about my age sitting by a polar bear. The girl's face is blue from the cold, and the polar bear seems to be unconscious. "Oh good. You're alive. I should get you out of here. There's a huge storm coming." She says the name of her polar bear, and it wrenches my heart to see the poor animal lying on the ground. I assure her that she will be taken care of. "I'm Aspen, by the way." She whispers her name, Pola, then falls to the floor.

Somehow, I arrange a type of sled for Chubby to pull Kallik on. I carry Pola myself, thankful that she isn't awake. I already feel awkward enough.

Pola had been trapped in that cave for who-knows-how-long, with no food or water, in below zero temperatures, and still has managed to look good. No, I think. Not good, Beautiful. With her eyes closed, she looks incredibly peaceful, happy even. Soft streaks of blue and green whip around her face in the wind. All I want to do is to get us both to safety. That's what I have to concentrate on now. Nothing else. Just get us home. I think.

It's totally OK with me!

Leo~

I curse myself as Finn and I look for whoever's yelling for help. I should've brought real boots! My toes are numb already and my thin leather coat hardly keeps away the wind. Then I see through the whirling snow a figure with some sort of seal pulling a sled. I yell to it and wave my arms, but my voice is whipped away by the wind. Then I have an idea. I whisper to Finn, "Can you go and whisper to that person's animal? Please?" He looks at me and nods. He then scurries away towards the figure, I see him converse with the seal thing, then he runs back to me. "There's someone on the sled, she's passed out. The seal's friend is called Aspen. They need shelter." I nod and say: "So do we. Tell them to follow me and I'll get them to a place." Finn looks at me strangely but goes back and relays the messege. He comes back with a bow with olive-coloured skin, probably Aspen. I motion for him to follow, then I turn around and backtrack. After walking for some time, we come to the border. But the tents and chief aren't there. I start to panic, but then calm down. It's just as well we didn't go back to the tents. It'd be hard to explain Aspen to the chief. I sigh and step through the border. A shiver passes through both me and Finn as I step into the relative warmth of my world. I turn and look at Aspen. He and his seal haven't moved. "Come on. This is safe and warm." He looks at me with a worried expression. "We're not supposed to cross the border!" I fold my arms and reply. "Either you come across and get to sit around a warm fire with food, or you stay there and freeze to death." He looks undecisive for a moment, then steps through.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope I didn't control your character too much, Bluebird! Also I was thinking neither of us trusts each other that much 'cause we don't know each other but I helped you out, so there's one small, tiny, fragile thread in place in the maybe-to-be-friendship-bond-thingymajiggy. :)
I like those ideas, Chinchilla! Also, I'm also kind of controlling your character too, sorry! Yay, this is getting so good!
Aspen~
What the heck am I doing? I wonder. Here I am in Sundrop territory, the one place I'm not supposed to go. After almost freezing to death in a gigantic storm with a girl who I "rescued" and an unconcious polar bear, I'd crossed the border with the bossy freckle-faced boy. Pola is not looking too good, it seems like she has hypothermia or something. I mean, she still looks good. Just not very healthy. I wonder if being near her polar bear would help, but right now Kallik is worse than she is. I glance around at the unfamiliar landscape. "What is that?" I ask the boy, pointing to an odd striped animal that vaguely resembles the furry ponies that help carry our loads. "Zebra. What is your seal's name?" he asks.
"Chubby. And, uh, he's a walrus. See the tusks? Yeah. That's just a walrus thing," I say nervously. I don't completely trust this boy. Still, he had saved us, so I guess I will have to for now. "I'm Aspen, but I think you already know that. What's your name?" I say, trying to get rid of the tension. "Leo," he states. Okay. I can work with that. "So, Leo, what is your prairie dog's name?"
"Finn," he plainly remarks. Oh come on, talk to me. "Where is the nearest place we can get treatment for Pola and Kallik?" I say, still carrying Pola in my arms. He motions for me to follow him, and I decide to stop trying to talk. It's wasting my energy, anyway. Speaking of energy, I am about to collapse from exhaustion. Chubby is also lagging behind, moving about as fast as an arctic glacier. Leo notices us lagging behind, and says, "We can take a break here." I nod gratefully, setting Pola down next to Kallik. As soon as I lie down, I fall into a deep slumber.
So guys I was thinking instead of three worlds we should just do three lands in one world what do ya think?
Alma~ it was time to go to the border that we share with the Sundrops. It was burning hot. A few hours later we saw tents of beautiful black and white stripes. We set up our tents of polar bear fur (we didn't kill them)(we just gathered their fur when they died?). The bright light burned my skin so much.
P.S.sorry for the short post
