Theater RPG!

Theater RPG!

~

Peter Caminski needs a place to hold a very special talent show, so when his uncle lets him use the old, broken down Mableton Theater, he gets started fixing it up right away. Full of determination, Peter advertises his talent show all over town. He's trying to handpick a very special group of people for a special reason, and the theater gives him just the place to get started. However, Peter quickly realizes that someone is working against him. Snapped cables, crashing lights and sound equipment going haywire just when he needs it most isn't a coincidence. Someone doesn't want him to host a talent show at the Mableton Theater. So, the question is, are you going to audition? You'll probably get into quite a mess, and if you go to Mabelton Public High School, you'll probably get teased for hanging out with Peter Caminski, and of course, I can't promise that getting a bunch of theater-inspired teens and tweens together isn't going to include a lot of fighting and friendship troubles. But Peter needs you—now more than ever.

~

This will work like a regular RPG for the most part. Every day I will post a "weather report." which will basically help us keep everyone on the same page with the plot (for instance, a "weather report" could outline sunny skies for our gang, or dark clouds when something ominous is looming. It will make more sense later, but it shouldn't change the flow of the story.

~

Now for the charrie sheet! I will be making another character later in the story.

Name:

Age (12-19 please):

Appearence:

Personality:

Something they are hiding:

Talents (anything from picking locks to to singing to lightning-fast sketching):

Other:

~

Name: Peter Caminski

Age: 14 1/2

Appearance: Typically disheveled light brown hair, dark green eyes, pale skin, a couple freckles here and there. About average hight.

Personality: Excited, enthusiastic, absolutely determined, socially awkward, typically keeps to himself, always overflowing with ideas. He makes a great leader when he can pull himself together.

Something they are hiding: Peter was adopted.

Talents: I know this doesn't make much sense, but Peter's talent is...being Peter. He's an actor and leader who's full of ideas. He knows he can pull this thing together.

Other: It would be cool if he finally found a good friend with one of your characters since he really doesn't have any.

Weather Report #1

Today's weather is a snowstorm of unique and a dash of determination. Low clouds are on the horizen however moving closer every time Peter puts up an advertisement poster...

I can't post now, but Miara could be the girl Alex talks to. No one seems to have noticed her so far so I'm going to try to get her more involved in the story.

I'm here! I'm back! Actually I didn't go anywhere...

Sam: Yes you did.

No, I didn't.

Sam: Yes, you did. You traveled to a virtual world and traded magic for science and I am SO mad at you.

It's still magic, it's just...scientific.

Sam: NO, IT'S NOT!

Wildflower: What are you talking about?

Sam: Let's begin with Rose bud finding a show about SCIENCE, not magic, SCIENCE.

It's still magic...I yelled: "Hey computer geeks, can particle accelerators exist? Please tell me; I have to know!" At my brother and his best friend, and guess what, they said NO. Anything impossible that cannot exist is magic.

Wildflower: You called them computer geeks? Again? Goodness gracious, why do they even put up with you?

Guys! That isn't the point! The point is, I'm back, I still believe in magic, and this conversation has been going absolutely nowhere so...

I hit my head on my desk.

"No imagination in this head!!!" I say. I stopped hitting in my head and start writing about how I have no imagination in my head. When we got the grades back I got a.....F. Anyway it was Dismissal time so I ran out of school and ran to my house. Flopped in my bed, and grinned at the ceiling.

Peter~

I post the audition results on the the theater doors. Kids gather around the sheet, talking and laughing. I realize that every single person here is listed on the sheet. I guess i was right about this being the core group. This is going to be awesome! I tell myself.  Finally, a group of kids like me. Like me... Anelia's green eyes stare up at me, her face hopeful.

"How about everyone comes inside and we can...uh...discuss plans, work out a schedule, and other stuff?" I suggest, unlocking the doors and holding them open.

"I brought cookies!" Violet exclaims. She catches my glance and holds it, smiling. I blink and look away as I say,

"Thanks, Violet." Talking and chattering everyone gradually moves into the theater, taking seats near the front. As if in a dream, I walk down the isle and towards the stage. I know what I have to say now. I have to say it for Anelia. For my friends. For me.

"First of all, you're probably wondering how I wound up in Mableton..."

~

Sorry guys, it's ten o'clock and I'm ready to climb in bed and reread some cozy and fun Trixie Belden books under the covers.

All the kids with amazing talents are clustered in front of the theater. I am careful not to drop the cookies. Soon Peter comes out and we all are dead silent. I stare, when will he announce the kids who will move on? So to get everyone smiley again I offer them some of the cookies. "Who wants a cookie!?" I yell. "Free cookies!"

"Uh, err, ummm, lets go I'm the theater to discuss everything...." Peter stutters. We all walk into the theater, kids with instruments, kids that hum when the walk, kids with pep in their step, and a little girl that looks like a little girl version of Peter?

When we get in the theater I sit by Toad and the little girl version of Peter sits next to me. Me, in the middle of one of my closest friend, and a little girl version of one of my closest friend. I tap Toad's shoulder. He turns around to me. "What?" He asks.

"See that girl who is Sittin' next to me?" I whisper in his ear.

"Yeah," he whispered back.

"She looks like Peter's long lost sister,"

"She does, but he can't! He is an only child,"

"Well, then......" I whisper. My kind starts thinking like this crazy machinery. 'Zap her with the zapper hand shake prank!' 'No' 'WHY CANT I THINK!?'

"okay! So, to start I will introduce the kids her....So......"

~Anelia

I sit next to a short girl with blond hair, who keeps whispering to the boy next to her. "She looks like Peter's little sister"

"I am his little sister" I say, then see the look on her face and realize how mean that must have sounded. "Sorry.... I  didn't mean...." But she ignores me. I sigh and look at Peter, watching his every move. Six whole years.....I still can't believe I found him. Peter. Peter Caminski. My own long lost brother. Now he is starting to say something.... " First, I...."

I settle in and listen.

Peter~

"First, I moved to America. Well...first I was born, but that kind of goes without saying. Anyway, I moved to America when I was about six with my father. Anelia stayed in Poland with my mother. We never were much of a family, but Anelia and I were pretty close. It was always..." I continued, shrugging and smiling, "just the two of us against the world."

From the front row, Anelia met my eyes and shook her head almost imperceptibly. What does she mean "no?" No it wasn't us? No we weren't against the world? Or...no it wasn't just the two of us? Exactly how much has changed since I left?

"So anyways, we tried to start over, but things didn't go so well. Dad tried to raise me, but he had some health issues he didn't tell me about until it was too late. Almost two years later he..." I find the words hard to get out even though it doesn't hurt anymore. At least, not as much as it used to.

"He had a heart attack after the circus. I don't even really remember what happened. I was pretty scared, though." As I speak, I can hear the loud whine of the ambulance and smell the cotton candy I had been holding that all at once made me feel sick. I haven't thought about this night for so many years, and here I am recounting it to an audiance.

"I remember screaming, trying to get people to tell me what was going on, and if my dad would be okay, but no one listened. Finally, one of the circus preformers came over and told me it would be all right, and that she would help me. She even promised to drive behind the ambulance to the hospital. She got in BIG trouble for that," I recounted with a smile, "but she borrowed a car from one of her friends and told me to hop in. I really didn't know any better, so I did. Her name was Leah Grayson. Everything turned out to be okay. For me, I mean, not my dad. He died the next day. Leah stayed at the hospital with me all night long, even though she had to get up and move with the rest of the circus the next day. I didn't understand why she was helping me, but I was really grateful. I fell asleep sometime that night, and when I woke up, the doctors told me that I was officially all alone in America. When the police came to take me away, Leah wouldn't let them. She was really, really headstrong back then and gave those officers a peice of her mind," I laugh right out loud; it sounds so funny to be talking about my mom like this (but hey, it's totally true), "Leah knew she sould never be able to keep me, but she kept fighting anyway. Finally, she said she would rather quite the circus than leave me alone in the world. And she did."

There's more to the story (including how Peter met Rowan), but the computer's only 5% battery (hey, if you say battery at superspeed it sounds like you're saying Paris in a French accent) and I have a disheveled room to clean and math problems to complete.
