Guess who's jumping

Guess who's jumping on the bandwagon?

It's Cloud. Cloud is.

The bandwagon of Fantasy Picturings! Though maybe not a bandwagon, more like a group activity... (I'm going onto a tangent, sorry.) ANYways!

All you need to do is ask for one and I'll write a fantasy description/short story for you! I don't mean to brag, but I kinda started the fad the last time this type of thread came around, and I definitely want to write more now! Especially since there's so many new members on CB, it'll give me some interesting new prompts. If you want to read some of my old ones, just search 'clouded leopard fantasy picturings' or something.

So go ahead! What are you waiting for? Step into Clouded's Corner of Fantasy...

Gimme time to do these! It takes awhile. And while I'm at it: Mystery and LilyPad, your requests are done!!

Elementgirl

Elementgirl narrowed her eyes at the curve of the wave, judging on whether she thought she could make it or not. Finally, as she saw the top beginning to fall in, she decided to go for it. Slamming one of her feet back on the board, in one fluid motion she swept through the watery tunnel, just barely emerging out the other side as the wave slammed down. Grinning, Elementgirl swerved onto the beach and skidded up next to her friend, Tasha, leaping off the board in excitement. “That was wicked!” Elementgirl crowed, her bright blue eyes shining. “Did you see the size of that thing?”

Tasha nodded, fairly impressed at her friend’s display. “I really did,” she said, the red nail polish on her fingernails glinting in the bright summer sunlight. “Nice job, Ellie! Actually, I wanted to ask you. Were you at—”

“Wait, wait, hold on!” Elementgirl broke in, interrupting her friend. Hefting up the surfboard into her hands, she took off for the ocean again, hurling it in and following with a mighty splash. At first Tasha looked offended and affronted at being blown off so quickly, but she finally just smiled and shook her head, watching Elementgirl wade into the thick of the ocean.

Her blood roaring in her ears, Elementgirl paddled further out into the water, the salty water stinging at her fingers. She ignored it, though, having spent so much time around the brine it was nothing more than a pinprick. All of a sudden she could feel a rumble around her, something she’d predicted as soon as she’d seen the wind scoring across the surface of the water. Flipping onto her surfboard, Elementgirl poised and waited with exhilaration as the waves began to rise underneath her, lifting her into the sky. Lifting her head and shifting her feet, Elementgirl let out a whoop of triumph as the wave carried her tens of feet above the people on the beach, watching from below like ants. Then her stomach flipped over as the wave dipped, quickly sweeping her into the waves.

Deftly she maneuvered her board down the massive wave, completely calm though the blue-green water was swarming up around her. With nothing but an errant spray she slid off the side of the wave, all while managing to stay on the surfboard. Tasha let out a cheer, waving as Elementgirl jumped back onto the hot sand. “Ellie, that was incredible! I’ve never seen someone ride a wave like that! How’d you do it?”

“Dunno,” the girl replied, shrugging as seawater dripped from her hair. “Guess it’s just my element.”

Kestrel

Brown, gray, and white feathers rustled in the wind as a large, elegant hawk soared over the metropolis, its yellow eyes keen and scanning the city below. It wasn’t very far above the streets, mind; nothing more than ten feet. Below the hawk, police officers and zoo keepers were scrambling around madly beneath the bird as it swooped through the sky in large circles.

“Dangit, Keeper!” an official-looking man with a bristling mustache snapped. “You were supposed to be the one looking after this bird! It’s our prize kestrel—how could you let it escape?” The man called ‘Keeper’ was hunched over his knees, panting with the effort of chasing the bird around. By now the kestrel had fluttered onto a telephone wire, observing the frantic people with an amused gaze. It seemed very knowing for a bird, like she was more than aware of what was going on.

“It’s… not my fault…” Keeper sighed, weary gray circles lining his eyes. “I swear the cage was locked, but then I turned around and it was out. I know it’s impossible, but it was like… it’d picked the lock and gotten out of its own free will.”

“No bird’s that smart, you idiot!” the mustached man snarled. “Now go get it!” His eyes gleamed with anticipation, because now, it appeared that the kestrel was flying into a nearby building, darting in and startling people as it sped past their heads and vanished inside the doors. Keeper and his boss, followed by a team of agitated zoo workers, stumbled inside the building together, immediately spotting the kestrel perched on a marble-carved the sign. The manager of the building was storming up to the zoo team, his face a bright and blotchy red as he furiously shouted at them. Chaos exploded inside the tiny lobby, people tripping and slamming into each other everywhere.

High above the hubbub, the kestrel watched the scene with sparkling eyes, its beak curving into what seemed like a grin. Then it flapped its wings excitedly, and the lobby went silent when the bird’s beak opened, all eyes drawn away as it spoke.

“Heh-heh-heh…” the kestrel cawed, its voice a mimic of laughter as she stared at the flustered humans, tumbling over one another like dogs. Then, with one swift movement, the bird swept from the jumbled room and soared into the sky, never again to be troubled by petty humans.

Leeli

“Order one and five, with a side of red Merlot!”

“Red Merlot coming up—Derek, can you start on five?”

“Got it, Melly! Five out soon!”

If you’ve ever been to, or at least heard of, an organized sports event, then surely you’ll have also heard of what pandemonium, chaos, and noise is caused there. Popcorn flying, fans cheering, feet stomping madly as the players on the field rush around. But what most people don’t consider is how a kitchen operates. Take the hustle and bustle of a football field and multiply it by tens. Now, that’s what you’ve got here.

Occasionally a splash of soup would strike the ground as a canteen was rushed back and forth, the chefs all shouting instructions for customers, for orders, for the way of the evening to each other. This restaurant in question was quite a fancy one indeed, a French restaurant well-known for its stunning meals, though the kitchen was the opposite of calm and quiet. Simpler diners raved about the tastes and quality, while even the harshest critics had nothing more than an offhanded comment to say. So naturally, curious news reporters often showed up to interview the restaurant, delirious to discover its secrets. But every time they came, they were denied entrance to the real powerhouse of the diner—the back room. In the frenzy of main kitchen meals were prepared, but in the back room, the meals were devised, a new and completely original recipe coming out nearly every week. This was what made the restaurant so famous, but every time a new chef was added to the team they were given strict instruction to never, ever enter the back room.

Jessie stepped inside the kitchen, her shoes clicking on the black-and-white linoleum tiles. The second the door closed behind her she was hit with a blast of steam from a nearby sink as a chef put a broiling pan beneath it to sear off the grease. He caught her eye and nodded in understanding as Jessie opened her mouth to ask where she should go, and jerked his head towards a professional-looking woman standing at the back of the kitchen. Jessie made her way for the woman, dodging around the scrambling cooks. “H-hello, ma’am!” Jessie said nervously as the woman eyed her. “A-are you the head of the kitchen? I’m a new recruit who’s…” Jessie’s words died in her throat as the woman turned around and handed her a slip of paper, with only a few words written in slanting handwriting on it.

New recruit. To be trusted.

Jessie swallowed, wondering what the words ‘to be trusted’ meant. She’d only signed up as a lowly cleaner, though she honestly loved food and making it. Pondering on whether this had anything to do with the homemade scrapbook she’d sent in before, filled with recipes she’d dreamed up with tiny dragons doodled up and down the sides, she took in a deep breath and pushed open the door of the back room.

A tall, slender woman with creamy-blonde hair was seated in a rolling chair, her face turned away from Jessie as the younger girl entered. The quiet click of the door as it closed alerted the woman, and she turned to Jessie in delighted surprise, her crystal-blue eyes bright. Jessie barely managed to suppress a gasp of shock that shot through as the saw what was perched near the woman.

On her left shoulder, claws digging into her cardigan like a parrot, perched an eagle-headed animal with bronze-gold feathers, though its lion-like fur was more tan in hue. It had sharp yellow eyes and golden front claws, and clearly its back legs were of feline descent. Next to the griffin, seated on the desk, was a tiny green dragon, curled in a ball as it traced a claw over a sheet of paper that appeared to be littered with ingredients and possible combinations of them.

“Jessie!” the woman said, her voice excited. “Oh, I’ve been waiting to meet you! I’m Leeli, Leeli Wingfeather, and this is Casper and Jade. I’m sure we’ll have much to discuss right away!”

“W-what do you… all of you… do?” Jessie asked, her voice stuttering.

Leeli smiled and spread her arms towards the griffin and the dragon, who had both turned their attention to the young girl as she gaped back.

“We cook.”

Impunity Jane

With a clank the bars of her prison slid into place, cutting the meager light into vertical poles. The girl inside narrowed her eyes at the jailkeeper, who leered back and spit onto the ground, slamming the key into the lock and twisting it soundly, making sure a second time she was firmly trapped inside. Sighing, the girl laid her head back on the stony wall, noticing the convict next to her peering at her curiously. “Hey,” she greeted him nonchalantly, whistling a few notes under her breath.

“Oh, hello,” he replied, his voice timid and polite. He seemed like the exact opposite of someone who was to be trapped in a dingy prison, wasting their days away in the darkness. “My name’s John, John Watterson. What’s yours?”

“Impunity Jane,” the girl yawned, stretching out her arms as if she didn’t have a care in the world. “But it’s Jane for short. What’re you in the clink for?” Watterson looked sadly at the ground as she asked the question, and just then Jane spotted bite marks on his nails, as if he’d been chewing them worriedly since he arrived.

“I… don’t know, to be honest,” he quietly responded. “I have a wife and two little girls at home, and one day, quite out of the blue, the police arrived and told me I had been convicted for robbery. I’ve done none of the thing, but they wouldn’t hear it. I thought I must have be My family is too poor to afford a good lawyer, and as a result I was… put in here.” He looked up at Jane, whose eyes had widened while he lamented his tale. “I’m sorry for making you listen to my sob story,” he said, though his voice had little spark behind it. “It’s difficult to contain yourself when you haven’t seen a kind face for many weeks.” Jane thought for a moment, then suddenly got to her feet, striding confidently towards the jail door. Watterson watched her, confused, then saw with surprise as her fingers twisted in one quick motion, and the lock clattered to the ground.

Pushing the door open, she glanced left and right before making her way to Watterson’s cell and deftly removing the lock. Amazed, he stood up to thank her, but she pressed a finger to his mouth, stiffening as she spotted a bobbing light just down the hallway. Wheeling around, swiftly she grabbed his arm and crammed a crumpled bundles of bills into his hand, more than enough to pay a lawyer in court, and shoved her shoulder up against a strangely protrusive block as the guard drew nearer. With a rumble the block moved backwards, and both the girl and the man vanished inside a corridor. Another second passed, and by the time the guard swung around the corner they were gone, their cell doors swaying in the breeze.

I hate to ask this of you, but already there's several people who haven't said anything about pieces I've written. I really don't want to spend time working on something no one notices, yeah? If you still want a writing request, please leave a comment underneath this post telling me. Anyone who's asked for one prior to re-requesting beneath will not recieve one. Also--if you've changed your name, specify which you'd like me to write about, please! Thank you all!
