Guess who's jumping

Guess who's jumping on the bandwagon?

It's Cloud. Cloud is.

The bandwagon of Fantasy Picturings! Though maybe not a bandwagon, more like a group activity... (I'm going onto a tangent, sorry.) ANYways!

All you need to do is ask for one and I'll write a fantasy description/short story for you! I don't mean to brag, but I kinda started the fad the last time this type of thread came around, and I definitely want to write more now! Especially since there's so many new members on CB, it'll give me some interesting new prompts. If you want to read some of my old ones, just search 'clouded leopard fantasy picturings' or something.

So go ahead! What are you waiting for? Step into Clouded's Corner of Fantasy...

As you seem fairly foundered in a sea of petition, it follows that I should make demands. *ahem* Please?

Sorry, I asked for one before and I have been reading them, but I didn't comment. May I have one, if it isn't too much trouble? All the ones I've read are beautiful and imaginative. My favorite so far is Leeli's. Thank you, Clouded Leopard!

Tuxedo Kitten

Tiny feathers colored in shades of bright red and fluorescent green dangled in front of the kitten as it reached up to bat at them, thorn-sharp claws piercing a fluttering feather. Melanie let out a giggle at the kitten pulled the toy to the ground and grappled with it there, growling cattily as it gripped the feathers in its teeth. Two days ago, on her birthday, her parents had surprised her with a gift she’d never expected--a kitten of her very own. She was small, barely more than half a foot with her tail included, and she was black with white patches all over her body, rimming bright green eyes.

Already Melanie was having a blast with the kitten, whom she’d decided to name Rohan for one of her favorite characters. “Hey, Rohan!” Melanie purred, and the kitten turned its head to look at her, feathers clasped in her mouth. Meowing in delight, Rohan trotted over to Melanie and pressed her head into the girl’s hand, who chuckled at the touch of soft fur. Just then Melanie heard her mom call her to bed from upstairs, and with a groan Melanie stood up, leaving Rohan behind. The kitten tried to tag along with a confused mew, but Melanie smiled sadly and just said, “Sorry, Rohan, Mom doesn’t want you up with me yet. Soon, though!” Disappointed, Melanie turned away, and in a moment her bedroom door clicked shut.

Rohan’s green eyes glowed like two tiny embers in the darkness as she stared after Melanie and the lights in the house blinked out, then quickly she turned and trotted towards the kitchen and sat down, staring intensely towards the countertop.

The sound of a crashing dish from downstairs jolted Melanie out of bed. Blinking her eyes sleepily, she stumbled out of her covers to go investigate it, her mind still clogged with sleep. She didn’t even think about the fact that it might have been an intruder, or just a bird running into the window. “A-alright,” she yawned, turning on the light in the kitchen. “What’s going--” But suddenly she stopped speaking, her mouth gaping as she saw a tiny black-and-white kitten poised on the countertop. The cat’s once-green eyes were now a deep violet, pulsing with psychic energy. Swirling around her head like a whirlpool of china were innumerous dishes, cutlery, and other objects. Melanie’s brain tripped over itself, trying to understand the power this cat possessed, enough so to control objects with her mind.

“Meow!” Rohan purred.

Booksy Owly

Bird calls echoed around the circular room as a tawny-spotted white owl flapped from her perch, a slip of paper clasped in her beak, and soared out through an opening in the wall. Winging her way into the air, she spared the building below one last glance before heading into the sky, her wings rolling as she maneuvered around the currents. Clenching her beak more tightly as the winds threatened to tear the paper away, Booksy Owly squeezed her eyes shut and trusted in her instincts not to carry her into something obstructing her path.

Thankfully, the most difficult part of her flight was blessed with clear skies, and eventually Booksy felt it safe to open her eyes again and sweep closer to the earth. Truthfully, as she was an owl she hated to be in the open sky like an eagle, but in such a powerful gale she couldn’t risk to run into any trees. Imagine what could happen if she’d crashed, headlong, into something and had been knocked unconscious, or worse…

Booky had no idea what this letter said—it’s not like she could read English, or any language at all—but as a carrier, she had to make sure her intended recipient recieved the message. Rustling her feathers, Booksy fluttered onto the branch of a nearby tree to rest, tasting ink as some of the writing on the envelope leaked into her mouth. Spluttering slightly, Bookys nearly spat the letter out by pure instinct, but as she almost did the faint wail of a train caught her attention, and with a flash Booksy remembered the sound when she’d departed with her last letter. Shooting into the air with renewed vigor, Booksy peered around with keen eyes and spotted a long, mechanical train making its way through the countryside, smoke billowing from a main pipe.

Darting towards it, Booksy turned her head to stare into the glassy panes, admittedly enjoying it when a passenger pointed towards her with a gasp of astonishment at seeing an owl here, of all places. After a minute, though, Booksy began to doubt if she’d ever find the receiver of her message. She knew his face, of course, but she wasn’t seeing it anywhere…

As she passed by one final window and looked in, an excited chirp gathered in her throat before quelling as she remembered the letter she carried, and with a smart rap she tapped her beak on the window, feathers twitching as she soared along the train. The boy inside looked up, his green eyes wide with surprise. Hurriedly he unlatched the window and allowed Booksy in, the wind immediately cut off as she settled on the table. Just across from the boy sat a girl with thick brown hair, swirling around her face in a bushy plume. Next to her sat a red-headed boy with freckles spattered across his face, watching the owl with a sleepy expression. Slowly the green-eyed boy picked up the letter, tracing his fingers across the ink-written name on the front.

“Who’s it from, Harry?” the girl asked, wringing her hands nervously. Booksy started, a memory piercing her mind.

Ah, yes, that was who this boy was—Harry Potter.
