Chatterbox City RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Chatterbox City RP!

Chatterbox City RP!

So I was looking through some older threads and I saw this, and it looked like a pretty cool idea. I think the original was created by Somebody.

Basically, the centre of the chatterbox city is a castle where the Admins live (unless they want to live someplace  else). Everyone else has a house/cave/secret hideout of their own surrounding it. The CBers have to work together to ward off glitches, vampires, giant sparkly unicorns intent on destroying the universe, ect.

The CB City currently consists of a massive library, a starbucks and a doughnut store, but you can ad,d more. Here is the CB charecter sheet you must fill in to join:

CBer Name:

Gender/pronouns:

Here's mine:

CBer Name: LilyPad

Gender/pronouns: Female (she, her)

Age: 12

Appearance: long, flowing golden hair and green eyes. Has a slim build and a light sprinkling of freckles. Wears comfortable, yet fashionable clothes.

Where you live in the CB city: I live in a tree house next door to the library. Does anyone want to be neighbors?

I hiss again when someone else is thrown beside me. So I’m in a cage of some sort. How hospitable guys.

The pale light washes over a large cat with glossy black fur. A...panther? Gosh, I look like a shrimp. But at least I can slip through the bars of the cage. The kidnappers didn’t think about that, idiots.

The brilliant amber eyes of the panther turn towards me.

“Who are you?”

”A human that got turned into a cat,” I reply with complete seriousness.

The panther nods. “Same here. Lilypad.”

”Lilypad?” I gasp. “It’s me, Kyoto!”

”Oh my gosh, Kyoto!”

She attempts to hug me but ends up squishing me against the bars.

“Sorry,” she laughs. “Now. How do we get out of here?”

”Let me try to get the lock with my claw,” I say, getting to work.

yiiiiiiiiiiiis!

Chinchilla~

After a few hours, I fall asleep in the cage....

*    *     *

I wake up with a start. The room seems to be slightly darker, but there are way more cages here now. They're comepletely black on the inside, so they look disturbingly like open jaws, the bars silver teeth, yawning into the darkness. They're all empty, and the strangest thing is, is that my cage is.... much larger. Maybe that strange person with that really weird voice used magic or something to make it bigger. The room feels much emptier, and i huddle quietly in the corner of the cage. There's something strange about the cage, like it isn't influenced by perspective. Just like the strange person who kidnapped me.

I hear footsteps, the pattern of the footsteps make me think it's some kind of four-legged beast. I quickly curl up into a ball, one eye half-open, like I'm asleep. A few moments later, a panther made of pure muscle, long, lithe and beutiful in that strange, extreme way, panther lopes into the room. Its coat has a healthy sheen, and its soft amber eyes rove around the room. It scents the air, stops, and turns its head in my direction in one smooth motion. It blinks slowly, and with feline grace, lopes over to me. It carefully examines me. I pretend to be asleep, staying deathly still except for even breathing, and it carefully sniffs me. "Chinchilla?" It whispers.

ARGH

I literally leap to the ceiling of the cage, and with speed that surpises even me, I dash to the other side of the cage, my mouth in a silent snarl, my fur on end. I crouch in the farthest corner of the cage. It looks at me with slight amusement. "Uh, Chinchilla?" I carefully nod my head. My head is in a whirl of questions.

How can you be speaking? Is this just my mind translating a soft groul into human? Or is the magic that transformed this panther somehow making it so that it can speak? A panthers vocal cords cannot physically create human language! Unless it's some kind of magic trick, or--

"It's me, Lilypad. I was transformed into a panther, and so was Kyoto. Except... she's like a tiny cat."

"I AM NOT TINY!" A small cat leaps out of the doorway, bristled with indignation.

"Mmm-hmmmm.." Lilypad's tail twiches as she eyes the cat with amusement.

"Ugh! Whatever! Hey, is that Chinchilla?" It walks over to me and eyes me carefully. "Hmm... if it was, wouldn't she speak to us? I mean, we still retain the power of human speech, so she should too." I frantically try to tell them that I'm me, but they just stare at me with typical feline patience.

Maybe if there was some dust or something....ah! I see a small patch of dust in the cage. I carefully, using my brushtail, wobbly spell out a word, since there's limited space in the dust patch.

Chinchilla

I point to the word with my snout, and point to me. Lilypad cranes her neck to see the word. "Um, I can't see what you've written, Kyoto?" The small cat nods. "On it." She sidles through the bars of the cage, and examines the patch of dust, her tail flicking gently. She stares at me carefully. "Okay, I believe you. Let's get out of here." Lilypad starts to pick the lock with her curved claws as I wait patienty with my tail wrapped around me. Click! The door quietly swings open. Hmmm, no squeak. I gracefully hop down out of the cage. I indicate that we should try to get out of here. Kyoto nods. "Yeah, we should. Uh.... where should we start?" Lilypad points to a very obvious-looking door on the other side of the room. "Uh, to that very obvious door on the other side of this room? Just a guess." They both start towards it, but I sprint ahead of them and turn, barring their way. I shake my head emphatically.

NO! Don't you know what happens to people who go to the very obvious door?! That patch of very coincidental dust for me to write in?! The door that HAS LITERALLY NO SQUEAK WHATSOEVER?! Think guys! That door shouldn't have been well oiled, wouldn't this person have wanted to know wether somebody escaped, a very loud sqeak of a cage door opening would be very useful! All these unlocked doors you just walked through! Why would there be a random patch of dust in an otherwise clean cage?! BECAUSE SOMEBODY IS EXPECTING US!

"Chinchilla, what are you doing?" Lilypad looks confused, and Kyoto tries to sidestep me. I shake my head again.

This has to be a trap!

Lilypad shakes her head, and walks right into me, like an unstoppable boulder she brushes past me. Kyoto shrugs and pads after her. I stand there, helpless, as they walk towards the door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What if the door leads into a ever-changing maze? So then its a trap for us? Not quite sure, I could just be paranoid. Hope I wasn't too controlling.
I wake up in a glass like prison. The back of my neck feels sore and rough.
What's that in front of my face? It's a dirty yellow color...
Nearby there is a bowl of water, I look into it
I jump, That can't be me, that can't be me!
I look again, in it I see a reptilian creature. Dirty yellow with spikes in the back of it's head. But the eyes are a glowing white.
My eyes
Somehow, I became a Texas Horned Lizard.
That person did something, I flung the Annalise at him and....
He pulled the string and stuck a dart in my neck...
I need to get out. I need to find my sister!
The holes in the glass are just big enough to put my arm through.
I could just change form to break the gl-
I can't.... Well that's great!
But can I...
I reach out the hole and snap my fingers. The Annalis is now in my hand, well the string is. The spool itself is too big for me to hold.
I smack the spool against the glass again and again. Till the glass shatters. I disspell the Annalis.
I run, well scamper, across the floor. cages are all I see.
Welll it looks like I got special treatment.
"Artist! Artist!" I can't find her.
There seems to be an exit. But up ahead a smell a panther, a fox and a cat-
This will take time to get used to.
I go up to them. They quickly turn around.
"Who're you?" The small feline asks me.
The panther looks at me. She mumbles something to herself.
"Writer?"
"Lilypad?"
"Wait, you two know each other?" The house cat asks us. The fox has a puzzled look
"I met him and his sister Creta,"
"Artist."
"Whatever, at Secret's place... How did you get here?"
"Felt dark magic at the library. Me and the Artist went in and found some guy- have you seen her?"
"I don't think so..."
"Ugh, I need to find her.... Who are these two?"
"The tiny cat is Kyoto"
"I'M NOT TINY! HE'S TINIER THAN ME!"
"And the fox is Chinchill."
How did you escape?
"I used my Annalis to break the glass..."
The others look at me
"What?"
"You can understand her?" Kyoto asked me
"Uh yeah, she talked to me like you guys."
"She just did array of yips."
Chinchilla, now hopeful said he's expecting us to escape!
"She says that he knew we were planing to excape."
"Is there any other way?" Lilypad asked me.
"Not that I know of. The room I was in lead to here and I didn't see a door..."
"Well, it looks like we have no choice, we have to play his game."  Lilypad opens the door.
"Guys I need to find my sister!"
"Well she doesn't seem to be here. Also why a lizard?"
"I don't know. I was thinking of this flavusdens back in the universe me and my sister control..."
"You are a god?" Kyoto looks at me in disbelief.
"No, more like a deity. Us Writers just make time happen, our sibling Artists do creation."
"So I'm guessing that flavusdens were based off Texas Horned Lizards?" Lilypad looks like she's trying to piece thing together.
"Mostly yeah and.... My sister always thinks of bear cubs when she's scared! Have you seen any bears?"
They shake their heads.
"Well in case she ends up here later..."
I summon my tabella.
I need to find her.
"Are you OK?"
"Huh?"
"Your eyes, they're bleeding....black..." They look in discomfort.
"I'm fine, probably on of my new 'animal powers'" I say sarcastically
I wipe the blood off and write a message in it
"She should get it. Her Perscripta should get it."
Ew Chinchilla looks at me in disgust, the others do the same.
"What? My blood is literally time ink."
Again, Ew.
END TRANSMISSION
So uh yeah. The Writer and the Artist are separated.
Also I love that maze idea. If need be the Annalis can become very very long. (See the picture of the Writer spinning it for more details!) So it's very useful.
Oh and if one dies, the other does too. Which is one reason why the Writer is in panic.
Kyoto~
I pretend as if I don’t have the same paranoia I saw in Chinchilla’s eyes. I know I shouldn’t. And I also know I should take this situation seriously.
But this is quite fun.
I leap up and open the door, and peek inside. It’s a room with a desk and a mirror.
“What?” Lilypad asks confused.
I inspect it when something clicks. “The riddle,” I mutter.
Chinchilla tilts her head, but she’s still listening.
“Look in the mirror. See what you saw. Grab the saw and cut the table in half. Two halves make a whole. Crawl through the hole and you’ll escape! Oh c’mon, it’s worth a try.”
LilyPad nods, and I leap up onto the desk, looking into the mirror, trying to ignore the obvious cat form looking back at me.
Suddenly a saw appears and thuds on the floor. LilyPad helps by picking it up with her jaws as Chinchilla and I steady the table. With one sweep, the table crashes into two, and LilyPad drops the saw.
The table seems to melt together and down, to form a large hole.
All three of us shrug and leap down.
~~~

What if this is a maze, or what if it becomes some sort of crazy Narnia/Alice in Wonderland thing? Idk, up to you guys XD

UGH I'M SO BAD AT THIS RP!

~~~
I jump awake, startled.  The first thing I see are silver bars, as if I'm in a cage.  I try to turn around, to find that I'm not as agile as a...human.  Why do I have the feeling that I'm not quite that anymore?  I look down, and see paws.  PAWS!?  They're orangey, with darker flecks.  I blonk a few times, to see if I'm hallucinating or dreaming.  Then I look up again.  The bars, paws, the feeling that I'm not human, there's something wrong here.  I turn around to get a better look at the cage I'm in.  I see a shard of glass on the floor, reflecting the celieng of the cage on it.  I walk over to it, and stare into it.  Instead of seeing my green eyes, my neon hair, a feline face stares back at me.  I back away slowly, shaking my head.  I'm a bobcat?!  It can't be!  How did this happen!?
"No, I can't --" I stop for a second, wondering whose voice that was before realizing it as my own.  "I'm a bobacat," I say, backing away from the shard of glass into the barred wall.  "I'm stuck," I whimper.  "I'll be in this cage, as a bobcat, with no way to escape, forever," I say, my words almost a whisper.
I don't know what it is that urges me to think differently.  Maybe it's determination.  Maybe it's anger.  Maybe it's a last bit of hope dying to grow.  But I don't give up.  I shake my head, whirl around, and tear my claws over the bars.
And then I'm out of hope.  My claws ricochet across the bars, not making a scratch.  I look out of the bars and try to find the lock.  I see one, right outside the bars.  The bars that my paws cannot fit through.  I trot over to near it anyway, and try to shove my paw through.  Of course it doesn't work.  Then I try just getting one claw through.  It makes it, but not far enough to get into the padlock's keyhole.  I try to squeeze my claw a little bit farther, and it goes into the keyhole.  I jiggle it around a bit, and then it opens, and falls away.  I pull my claw back into my paw and push open the door with  my nose.  It makes a sharp creaking sound that would make my human form cringe.
I creep across the floor, looking around at several other cages on either side of me, all dark, and all empty.  My footsteps are almost silent.  Well, at least that's good.  If the person who put me here is around, at least they won't hear me.   Then I see other animals, jumping into something I can't see from here.  I run over, and look into the dark hole/abyss thing they jumped into.
"HEY!" I yell into it without thinking.  Well there goes my plan of being quiet.  "Is anyone down there?  Can you hear me?  Why did you jump down there?  Please, can you help me?"
I listen, my ears picking up nothing but static.  I stand and wait for a moment, and when I hear a faint footstep that must be very faw away, I realize what I must do.
I gulp, close my eyes, and leap into the abyss.
That's to make up for everything I missed.
Okay! So I have an idea for how I can fit in to the story.
So the bad guys captured me with everyone else, but a little before, turned me into... a wolf, shall we say? And I was thinking they're trying to mind control me, and they put me into the abyss as a trap for everyone else, but the mind control thing glitches somehow. Aaanyway...
Aspen~
I start awake to find myself in deep darkness. To my surprise, my eyes adjust to the dark much quicker than normal. I seem to be in a pit of some kind. If there's a way out anywhere, I can't distinguish it in the murky blackness.
Suddenly, it all comes flooding back. The man in the cloak, the voices talking about things like "mind control process" and "transformations". What could it all mean?
I slowly get to my feet. Waiiit a second... why do my shoulders feel like they've been moved back closer to my sides? And my back legs seem to be bending the wrong way! I turn my head to see the hindquarters of what seems to be a large, silvery white dog. Is that... ME?!
I raise an arm--foreleg-- and observe one of my paws. They seem to be very large-- I must be either a very large dog or a wolf. Experimentally, I sniff the air. Several scents drift to me on the wind. One smells a lot like me, but murkier. A sudden, faint yip catches my attention. It doesn't sound all that far off! Another sound echoes down into the abyss; one that sounds like a cat!
The animal voices draw nearer, and their scents stronger. I wait nervously, tensed for action. Outlines of creatures that I can only just make out appear at the brink of the abyss. They look as though they're peering down into the darkness!
Without warning, one by one, they leap over the edge coming down, down, down towards me. A last animal races up to the edge and jumps as well.
I back up several paces, waiting as one by one, they land on the soft, springy floor of the pit. Slowly, they right themselves and look about, and notice me for the first time. A small house cat yowls something to a lean, graceful panther. I leap back, growling warily, "Not a step closer." A lizard backs up slightly. Are you... another CBer?" he asks tentatively.
Surprisingly, I can understand him. "Yes! Are... are you?" He nods, and turns to the cat and the panther. The cat asks him, "Is she a CBer?" The lizard bobs his head again. Just as the bobcat comes running up to us, a voice whispers into my head.
The time is ripe to attack...
What are you talking about? I mentally snap back at it. The voice curses loudly, and falls silent. "Hey! What's going on? Are you guys all CBers too?" The bobcat meows.
The others and I all nod vigorously. "Well, I'm Kyoto," the Japanese bobtail pipes up. "I'm LilyPad." the panther adds. "I'm Lucy B!" the bobcat mews. "And I'm Chinchilla," the fox yips. "And I am The Writer." the lizard finishes. For a moment, there is a rather awkward silence where everyone is looking at me. "Oh." I say. "I'm Aspen."~
We are falling, falling through the darkness. I don't know how long we have been falling but I think we've traveled at least a mile. I think, with a sort of confused smile, of Alice In Wonderland and how she falls down the rabbit hole. I suddenly remember how things don't really turn out well for Alice at the end of the tunnel. Wiping enlargement potions and rabbits with watches out of my head, I try to make out the animals around me falling through the darkness. My eyes seem to see much better in the darkness than in the labatory, which makes me feel less helpless as my human form would. All of a sudden, we land softly with a thump on a mossy sort of surface. I look around to check if my companions are ok. "Oof!" Grunts The Writer. I guess they can't see as well as us in the dark. "I have a paw in my face!"
"Sorry." Says Kyoto, apologetically. "Hey...where are we?"
"No idea." I say. What option so we have but to keep walking? I get to my feet. "Maybe our captive put us here to confuse us, to make us feel lost. It's the only explaination I can think of." Chinchilla shrugs, swishing her tail. "Let's get moving." She says. "I don't like this place. I nod and cautiously pad a few paces forward. The ground is soft and moist under my feet. Suddenly, I smell another creature to my right. It's a mammal, not a cat, but a canine? "Guys, this way." I purr, letting my nose lead me towards the canine. I nearly crash right into her. She growls something unintelligible. I look at The Writer, confused. "Allie?" They say. We stare at the grey wolf. She nods. Oh...ok. "I'm LilyPad." I say. "Have you any idea what this place is?" Suddenly, a glint of anger and fury flashes across the wolf's eyes. She bares her teeth for a second, posing for strike. Then she gives a little shake and growled "I don't know. But I keep hearing voices in my head." I share a worried glance with the others. Ok, that's new.
Moi~
“Wait,” I say. I feel that even though I’m not a wild feline like LilyPad or Lucy, my whiskers are working the best.
“Through here,” I whisper, slipping through a large hole.
My eyes widen and I gasp at the sight.
It’s literally straight out of the Alice in Wonderland storybook. Where are we?
“The door is in the castle,” the air whispers.
Once everyone gets through the hole, they too gasp in wonder.
“C’mon!” I exclaim, bounding down the forest path. I can see the castle from the distance.
“Where are you all going?” a sly voice says from the trees.
I stop and look up.
“The Ceshire Cat,” LilyPad whispers.
“This isn’t possible,” The Writer scoffs.
“We need to find out way out,” Lucy replies to the grinning cat.
“Are you finding your way out or really going in?” the cat asks, flipping onto his back and looking at us upside down.
“I suppose we’ll find out,” I respond.
He looks at me in curiosity. “Fellow cat, where on Earth is your tail?”
I look back and then look back at him. “I’ve lost it. Perhaps it’s through the door in the castle?”
“Ah, yes, it probably is,” he replies lazily, leaping to another branch.
“He just confirmed there is a door,” I say. “Let’s get a move on.”
HUH? HUH? Oh, sorry, caps. oh yes swim meet sorry I'm kinda behind in posting =0 Oh, Kyoto, could you post a description of your cat? I keep on imagining your charrie with tortoise-shell markings.
Oh, um, I can't really speak, but I like the idea of me sort of speaking into other people's minds, or more specifically, just Writer's and Artist's minds. OKAY!
Chinchilla~
We start to walk through the darkness. The scents of my companians weave through the air in my minds eye, Writer's is a cold blue, reptilian like, and Aspen's is a blue-ish grey, warm and mammal-like. The tunnel goes on for quite a while. I'm still very puzzled by the floor, it doesn't have a plant-like or moss-like smeel, but it's slightly bouncy and squichy.... maybe a type of fome? It's a strange material.
After a what seems like hours, the tunnel suddenly takes a sharp turn, and widens out into.... a.... tiny room. It's hardly big enough for one animal, but as we step into it, dimensions are warped, and it seems to be much bigger. Hmmm...
It looks much bigger, with whitewashed walls and cieling, but it takes only three steps to cover what looks like a lot of ground.... dimensions are strangely warped. Trying to think about it makes my head hurt. The floor is still the same squishy material as in the tunnel. In the center of the room is a silver mirror. It's slightly unsettling for some reason... ah. It doesn't have any border, it's simply mirror all the way, on both sides. It hovers in the very center of the room, bobbing gently, all the while turning slowly, so that it reflects the entire room. On the other side of the aforesaid room, there is a small black door, without any visible handle. It freaks me out for some reason, but it's the only way out, and I'm starting to get more creeped out by the empty tunnel gaping behind us. The room smells starilised and plastic, I wrinkle my nose in disgust. The mirror bobs around and I see the reflection of all of us. In the ghostly reflection, I see all of us, standing comepletely still, our eyes riveted to the mirror, with pale versions of ourselves behind us.
GAH!
We all scremble backwards towards the tunnel, some of us trying to turn around to see who is behind us, and as the mirror slowly revolves over, we retreat back behind the corner of the tunnel, gasping with our eyes widened. Kyoto is trembling slightly, and I feel deeply unsettled. The whole double-versions of ourselves I can take, but.... they weren't moving. They were comepletely still, not blinking or even breathing. And they were staring right at us, expressionless in the way of a dead body. (Is that too freaky?) I'm trembling slightly, trying to get control of my feelings. I turn to look behind us, the depths of the tunnel fading into blackness that only Kyoto and Lilypad would be able to see in. I'm deeply unsettled, but I also want to see what happens. The reflections just scared us, they weren't doing anything. Maybe this test-like thing is just for us to best our fears? Unlikely, but I'm very curious.
I'm going to go out and see what happens, alone.
I think, trying to send the messege to Writer and the others. Writer licks his eyeball, which I'm not sure how to interpret, but i carefully pad out into the white room.
The mirror revolves to face me, and stops, bobbing gently. Again, I see the ghostly image of myself behind me. I resist the urge to look behind me, instead staring at the reflection. The fox slowly pads up until it is right behind me. I can almost feel its presence behind me. It leers at me for a moment, and then, it  veeeery slowly leans over and starts to whisper in my ears, I can feel clammy breath on them...
"You know what I can do I can show you what you fear I can show you what you fear I can show what you are aaaaafrAID AFRIAD OF-"
Be quiet!
"I CAN SHOW WHAT-"
BE QUIET!
......
It leers at me for a moment, and then steps away. It starts to smile, but on a face that is not naturally designed to smile, it looks very unsettling. It grins wider and wider and wider, past the point of being too big to fit its face, its teeth growing longer and longer and-
No.
It cocks its head, as if listening, all the while its ghastly smile growing ever wider.
You're not going to scare me away from that door that easily.
Its grin slowly disapears, and it nods. It turns around, and slowly starts to walk to the tunnel. Where everyone else is.
"Yessssss but I can stop your friends your friends you friendssssssssss......."
I'm pretty sure that Lilypad, Kyoto, Writer, Aspen, Lucy B, and the others can definitey defeat this pathetic creation on their own, but still.... I turn around to see the reflection and.... an.... empty tunnel. I turn back to the mirror-ITS RIGHT BEHIND ME!
GAH!
ARGH! Jumpscares.... ugh.... So.. it can only exist in the mirror. Okay, it definitely can't hurt me, then. I... think.
It starts into a crouch, its expression not changing an inch. It can't hurt me, it can't hurt me, it's not there, it's not there, I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm fine. I feel some uncertainty and I decide to check.
I turn to look behind me-
AGH!
Needle-sharp pain lances through me, like an animal is biting my neck- AGH AAOGH My lips open in a silent howl, I feel llike an animal is shaking me- I-I-Iturn back-to-the mirror and- I see the ghostly image of myself with a choke-hold on my neck, its teeth digging into my fur, shaking me, its face still in that ghostly leer, the worst thing is that its not making any noise, the fight is eerily silent.
I wrench myself free, shaking my head- I look back at it and see crimson blood soaking through the fur, but the mirror bobs around so that i'm always reflected, I silently scream and run towards the door, crashing it open into a black room.
Deep silence. The door silently closes, and demented mirror version of myself is gone. I lie panting, on the floor. I look up into-
Dozens of mirrors.
Mirrors upon mirrors creating a bizarre maze, infinite. Someone could go insane in here. It could be tiny and I would wander in here forever, thinking that I was in an endless maze in only three feet. It could be huge and i would always be in the same spot-
Come out and say it is fine, come out and trap them all with your cunnniiiinnnnng....
I turn to go out, my panic suddenly controlled, my face expressionless. I stop. There's something urging me to go on, to ensnare my friends in a maze of mirrors forever.
No! Come out, this is the wrong spot, there was another tunnel connected to the other one, COME OUT!
I leap into the door, my claws scrabbling frantically at the wood. I force it open, the once smooth wood suddenly full of splinters, much harder to open than before, and I run into the ghostly white room, past the mirror with the ghostly reflection leering at me, and I manage to stay conscious long enough to see a pink door in a place hitherto empty in the white room.
I skid into the tunnel and black out from loss of blood.
Okay, I hope that wasn't too dark, I was thinking that that was the freakiest one. Sorry if that was really creepy.
"goad" Goad? Really? How am I goading anyone?
