In the not too distant future, a fantasy many children and adults alike had only dreamed about has become a reality somewhere far off in the multiverse. Imagine a world almost identical to ours: The people there call it Zelkova. They speak the same language, eat the same food, do the same things as us Earthlings. We were almost identical. Were.
On the fateful day of April 16th, 2035: More than 50% of the human population on Zelkova seemingly developed some sort of strange superpower overnight. Old and young, men and women, overwhelmingly strong powers and completely pointless ones, all over the world.
To put a lid on the ensuing chaos, the governments of Zelkova put forth new laws regarding these powers, which began to be called "gifts" by people around the world. New institutions were put in place. New utilities. New organizations. The world had to adapt to the new gifts bestowed unto them by some supernatural force. And they did.
June, 2040: The world has become a supernatural society. A majority of the population has adapted to a strange "gift" they recieved one day, and a new generation will soon prove whether these gifts will pass on or not. Many are living their childhood dream. Not all is well in Zelkova, however. Much of the "giftless" population vehemently protest against the special treatment of the gifted. Many gifted individuals turned to the shadows rather than the light, using their gifts to make crime all the more dangerous. The goverments of the world can't keep the peace on their own. That's why a special few gifted individuals, heroes, have stepped up to defend against the worlds evil. Heroics have become a full-time government supported occupation. Heroic academies have sprouted up all over Zelkova, helping aspiring young teens to hone their gifts and learn what it means to be a hero.
You all will be first years at the massive and high-tech RGAZ (The Royal Gifted Academy of Zelkova), the most popular and well respected Hero Academy in all of Zelkova. All will have different reasons for attending, but all share a common goal: becoming a hero. With pressure high and evil lurking just around the corner, who will have what it takes?

Yup, I decided to make my first RP. For those who don't know me; Hi, I'm Ferris! I like as many people as possible to give this RP a try (I'll cap it at around 8), even if it sounds bad. I'll be posting my character later, but please don't be shy and ask any questions you need.

@Shy Peacock: Yeah of course, partners are definitely gonna switch around. We can also work in groups of four, 2v2 combat training, whatever you guys like. Combat is probably gonna be the main source of character development next to leisure, so everyone should get a chance to eventually work with everyone else in some way.

Back in my dorm, I browze the books on the bookshelves. None of them catch my fancy so I sit down on the small table. Ice trickles from my fingertips and a dancing pair appears, twirling and strutting around on the wood. I watch them with merrily shining eyes. Nobody does this anymore... I think sadly. Such a beautiful art. So graceful and peaceful, it's a shame it's been outdated. Keys rattle in the door and the lock clicks open. That girl, Alynah, pokes her head through the open doorway.
"'Sup." I lean back in my chair. She merely groans in response. "So. You're my roommate?" Alynah nods. "Good." She furrows her brow.
"Why? You're Number One. All the rest of us are underlings to you." I shrug.
"I wouldn't say that. I'm just good at finding loopholes. I'm sure you, of all the students here, are just as powerful as a Hypernatural like me." Alynah blushes. I have a habit of flattering people while JUST TRYING TO BE HUMBLE. I wonder if that's a bad thing.
"There's a catch with my power... Unlike yours, Rune. Somebody else has to let me use their power when they use it."
"So... Reed?" Alynah rolls her eyes.
"Ugh. Of all people to get paired up with..." I smirk playfully.
"I take it you don't like him very much?" Alynah flops down onto her bed despairingly. I stare at the two dancing figures on the table. I wonder who I'll get paired with...

Shy Peacock is it okay that Alynah is Rune's roommate? Also, who should be Rune's partner?

Ahhh! I'm gonna post soon, but my internet was just acting up for the past week or so. Sorry guys. But anyway, I have a question for everyone. Are we really gonna have dorms or no? I was sure about the uniforms and all but I just wasn't planning on it, since I thought Rune only had a dorm because she needed it. Please share your thoughts!

I like the idea f roomates, that way we can get more time for our charactors to get to know eachother.
Also! The month of July is going to be really busy, so I might not post as often.

I like the idea that Rune and Alynah are BFeFs and roommates. Maybe Rune should get paired with Bryan, or somebody with a less useful gift. I think dorms are a good idea, but everybody doesn't necesarily need them, so people could choose for themselves. I think it defenitley fits with Alynah's backstory to have a dorm, but, say, Elliot, might not have a dorm, if that makes sense. Also, sorry for not posting, I was at camp for a week, and I'm going back next week. I'll try to post something for real later today.
Laylanie says otux. I think she wants the school uniform to be a tuxedo.

Glad to be free of the nerves and crowded-ness of the training session, I look back at the piece of paper Mr. Redpool handed out to everyone, with all the Class A dorm assignments listed on it. Apparently I'm in Dorm 17 with Izzie Glow. Oh, she was the one with the frizzy hair and glasses. One of the ones who had such an easy time of moving the concrete block and all. She smiled a lot, I've noticed.
After a long flight of stairs I reach the girls' dorms. I walk down on the odd number side, watching the numbers pass by. 5, 7, 11, 13.... 17. I stop in front of the door. Just one more person to meet, I tell myself with a deep breath. Before I can hesitate any longer, I grab the door handle and gently push it open.
Izzie is already sitting on her knees in the middle of the first bed, unpacking things from her suitcase. Mine lies on the other bed, untouched, but then Izzie glances up.
"Hi!" she calls out cheerfully with a bright grin. "It's Wren, right?" "Uh, yeah," I mumble. Izzie brushes a strand of hair out of her face. "I'm Izzie." says Izzie. I don't tell her that I already know, but give a brief nod and start unpacking.~
Side note: The power blinked a couple minutes ago and my internet connection seems a little flukey, so I don't know if this will show up.
