Finsh the story:

"Leave me alone!" Clovertoe screeched. Several cats looked up to see what the racket was all about, several were already watching.

"No! Not until you tell me!" Quickwing yowls.

The cats begin to take sides.

"She shouldn't have to share private information!"

"He deserves to know!"

Suddenly, Heatherstar emerges from his den.

"What is the meaning of this?!"

Clovertoe~

"Clovertoe? Clovertoe, wake up!"
Clovertoe lifted her head blearily, looking at the small tabby head poking through the entrance to the warriors den. "What is it, Dustypaw?"
"Heatherstar wants to talk to you. He says it's about your punishment, I think."
Clovertoe jerked up, suddenly wide awake. "Okay. Okay, thanks Dustypaw."
"Uh.... No problem?"
Clovertoe pushed past him and padded briskly towards the small patch of bracken that was the leader's den. Poking her head inside, she mewed, "Heatherstar? You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, Clovertoe. Come in, please."
Clovertoe padded into the den, looking around at the closely weaved walls, and marvelling at the way the bracken fronds were intertwined tightly enough to keep out drafts, but not so tightly that it was stuffy and dark.
"Good morning, Clovertoe." Clovertoe looked up to see who had spoken, and almost stopped short when she realized that the Clan deputy, Eaglefeather, was also in the den with Heatherstar.
"Heatherstar and I have been discussing your punishment," he continued, "and we have decided that you will be put on apprentice duties, at least for the time being. Keep in mind, though, that this will not be your only punishment. It's only a temporary one. Understood?"
"Yes, Eaglefeather."
"Good." Heatherstar was speaking now. "Then I suggest that before you go on a hunting or border patrol, you report to the elders' den, and see if they need help with their ticks."
"Yes, Heatherstar."
Clovertoe padded despondently out of the den, and froze as she realized that a small group of apprentices, led by Dustypaw, were clustered around the entrance. They streaked away, acting as if they hadn't been eavesdropping on the whole conversation, but Clovertoe knew that before the day was over, the whole Clan would know about her punishment.

I have a quick question for you: Is Lilypaw a warrior apprentice or a medicine cat?

submitted by Nyx@Clovertoe, age 12 years, earth
(November 20, 2019 - 9:19 am)

So sorry I've been gone for so long! I've been REALLY busy, but I can't tell you how happy I am to have returned! Lilypaw is, in fact, a warrior apprentice. Did I slip up somewhere and make her out to be a medicine cat apprentice? Aaargh, I did, didn't I? Sorry!

 Anyways...

Lilypaw sighed. The medicine cat den was so boring. In and out came the cats, whining about one pain or another. Couldn't they see her right their, covered in scratches? She felt guilty for thinking like that, but just couldn't help it.

 Pain seared her flank.

"Comfreytail, can I get another poppy seed? I can't sleep, and my scratches hurt." She called to her medicine cat.

"Fuzzypaw, could you get her a few poppy seeds?" Mewed Comfreytail.

"Coming!"

LIlypaw licked up the seeds given to her on a bright, glossy leaf and shut her eyes tight, hoping the poppy seeds would cancel out her nightmares. She'd had the same dream every night since the attack, with the lightning striking her and the flames and all the rest. Her scratches weren't healing properly, and by the looks of it she'd be stuck here for a while.

Finally, her senses dulled, and Lilypaw accepted the sleep graciously.

Sunlight shined brightly in her eyes, piercing through the dark behind her eyelids.

"Is it morning already?" Lilypaw groaned.

Somewhere behind her an unfamiliar voiced purred with amusement.

"Silly young cat. You're not where you think you are!"

Lilypaw's eyes shot open.

"Where am I?" She turned to see the cat behind her. His gray pelt glimmered with stars." Oh no. Oh no no no no. Am I dead?"

THe cat purred again. "No, of course not. You're too important to travel to StarClan for good! Now, let's get to buisness, shall we? I am Gray, and you are LIlypaw, yes?"

Lilypaw was too baffled to respond right away.

"Y... yes?" she squeaked finally.

"Good! Now, I need you to listen carefully. We don't have much time. You remember your visions, correct?"

"Erm... you mean... my dreams?"

"That's exactly what I mean! I need you to decipher it. I'll help. Alright, let's start with the lightning. HAve you ever experienced a thunderstorm?"

"Y-yes..."

"What comes with lightening?" Inquired Gray.

"THunder?"

"Yes! Where do you live?"

"THunderClan."

"You see? ThunderClan will cause a fire! Not really, of course, but do you know what I mean?" Gray smiled.

"Now just figure out the rest! Oh, and discuss this with Comfreytail, okay? Bye!"

As he began to fade, Lilypaw eard him continue to chatter.

"Oh, I remember when I was young. I was so quiet then..."

The sound faded with the vision, and Gray was gone.

Wow, THANKS!

 A Quarter Moon(Week) Later

Snakepaw woke to sunlight warming his pelt, and a claw prodding him awake.

"Get up, you lazy bird-brain! It's time for a patrol!" A gruff voice snapped.

Snakepaw held back a sigh and heaved himself out of his nest. At first he'd winced at Mossnose's rude remarks, but by now he'd grown used to it. Mossynose was a good cat, but he had a barbed tongue.

"Come on! It's time for dawn patrol! What are you, a RiverClan cat? Lazy! Work harder! Come on!"

Snakepaw tried not to cringe. Sometimes the taunts still hurt.

"Coming..."

Snakepaw padded wearily out of the apprentice's den. Going on dawn (as well as moonhigh)patrols every day had taken its toll on him; Mossnose seemed not to need sleep, but of course Snakepaw did.

I wish there was someone that I could talk to, someone who wouldn't judge me so much just because I failed my assesment... Snakepaw thought. There is! SAid a little voice in his head. No! He thought, pushing the voice to the back of his head. She probably hates me now!

"Snakepaw!" Mossnose yowled.

"A-alright, let's go."

                                                           ****

Snakepaw collapsed into his den, exhausted. He'd spent all day working hard to please his mentor (which hadn't happened) and was ready to sleep. But when he lay down, he couldn't fall asleep. After tossing and turning for StarClan knows how long, his denmates started grumbling.

"Snakepaw, can't you sit still? Mousebrain..." Complained Leappaw.

Finally, Snakepaw stood up. "Going for a walk..." He muttered, and walked out of the den.

Snakepaw~

Snakepaw pushed through the sparse undergrowth of the pine forest, breathing in the cool night air with deep, satisfying breaths. It felt good to escape the stuffy apprentice den which, since he was nearly full-grown, was very crowded.
"Lilypaw, are you sure you're okay? Maybe we should head back to camp."
"I'm fine, Comfreytail. And I don't want to go back to the medicine den. The scent of herbs makes my head all stuffy."
Snakepaw's heart leaped as he recognized the ThunderClan apprentice's voice. He sprinted to the border and spotted her, limping along the path next to an older she-cat who must be Comfreytail, ThunderClan's medicine cat.
"Lilypaw!" he called out, stopping at the border. "Hi!"
The two she-cats jumped, and looked over at him in surprise. Comfreytail cocked her head at him suspiciously.
"What do you want?" she asked in a semi-hostile voice.
Snakepaw took a step back. "I... uh, I was on the patrol that attacked Lilypaw," he mewed. "I was just taking a walk and I heard your voices. I was wondering how her injuries were doing."
"Oh!" Lilypaw's ears twitched. "They're okay. I finally persueded Comfreytail to let me go for a little walk. The smell of the medicine den was starting to get to me." She gave a small mrrrow of laughter.
"Yes..." Comfreytail looked back and forth between them, perhaps wondering how they knew each other. But when she opened her mouth, her question was not what Snakepaw had expected.
"Why do you care?" she asked. Her voice, instead of hostile now, was simply warily  curious. "You're ShadowClan," she added. "Why do you care about the injuries of a ThunderClan apprentice?"
Snakepaw thought for a moment. "Well... it was an unfair fight. And apprentice to apprentice, I just wanted to make sure she was okay." He tried to ignore a small tingle that suggested that that was not the only reason he had come to check on her.
Comfreytail looked at him askance. "Well, that's nice of you. But I thought you were a warrior. ou're certainly old enough."
Snakepaw's tail drooped. "I... failed my final assessment."
"Oh. Well that's too bad."
Snakepaw could hardly stand yet another sympathetic face. "I... I have to go. My Clanmates will be worried."
"Oh." Lilypaw looked disappointed, "Well, see you another time, I guess."
"Yeah. See... see you."
Snakepaw made his way forelornly back to camp, and curled up in his nest, finally falling asleep.

So Clovertoe, I had and idea, but I wanted to run it by you first.

So, do you remember the post I made (On the first page I think) where Snakepaw overhears Ravenstar and Pinethroat talking about the sign that Pinethroat received about "Tragedy striking when Snakepaw becomes a warrior"? I was thinking that, though Ravenstar and Pinethroat think it means Snakepaw will cause the tragedy, it really means Sleekstripe, and it just meantions Snakepaw bc they would have become warriors at the same time except Snakepaw failed his assessment. I was thinking that Sleekstripe and Marshlily would end up being kind of like a Tigerstar and his mate or something, and that Snakepaw, Lilypaw, and Clovertoe would end up having something to do with it. This could also have to do with Lilypaw's dream where Gray tells her that Thunderlan will cause a fire. Or a storm, or whatever it was.

AAAAAAAAGGGGHHH

I'm so sorry! I haven't been on again... My parents keep changing electronic rules & such.

Ahem... Not that I have any! Totally a m-mysterious cat! Heh heh! Anyway...

Let's talk a bit about the story. I'm planning on having that the black around Lilypaw in her vision be ShadowClan, because it's like shadows. The lightning srtriking is ThunderClan -- they will cause the trouble -- and wind will make the battle worse(WindClan). Finally, RiverClan will put it to a stop. I only put Gray in the story so that no one changed the meaning of the prophecy I had planned so well(sarcasm), but for whatever reason it never occurred to me that I could just TELL you. Moving on.

I really like your idea, but because of my prophecy(I mean Lilypaw's), what if somehow we made it so Sleekwhisker and Marshlily joined ThunderClan?

Just a suggestion. Sorry if my idea is too crazy.

Top.

Clovertoe ran and ran. The wind rustled her fur. She ran and ran until she came to a Thunderpath.

Well, I've got nothing to lose.

A monster flew past, its yellow eyes gleaming in the dark. It rolled into a puddle and splattered muddy water into Clovertoe's face.

"Yecchh!"

She spat out the mud and braced herself. THere was no point in wasting time.

Yet another monster zoomed by, and Clovertoe took her opportunity. She dashed across the path, taking note of her surroundings but careful not to frighten herself by staring into a monster's piercing eyes.

Finally, she leaped over the edge of the road and paused to take a breath before setting off. Clovertoe didn't know where she was going. All she knew was that she could not stay in camp a second longer.

All of a sudden, she noticed ThunderClan scent markers.

Fox dung. I've gone the wrong way.

She turned to head away from ThunderClan territory when she heard voices.

She stiffened.

They'll catch me!

THinking quickly, Clovertoe dived into some undergrowth growing on the borderline. Having nothing else to do, she listened.

"This is the perfect place for our plan."

"But it's on ThunderClan territory!"

"But it's perfect!"

"What are we meant to do? Become ThunderClan warriors?"

"Sure!"

"What?!"

The footsteps faded. Clovertoe padded cautiously out of the under growth and padded slowly to the spot the voices had come from.

It was a sandy dip, not unusual being so close to WindClan. In front of her, there was a ledge that fell sharply into the deep hole, like a tiny cliff. That looks dangerous. No, it is dangerous!

But what disturbed her most was what Clovertoe noticed next. A strange scent wafted around the dip.

I'd recognize that scent anywhere, but it can't be true! She thought. ShadowClan!

"Mossynose, I've scented a frog. I'll be right back, okay?"

"Can I really trust you to go off alone?" He rasped suspiciously.

Snakepaw fought the urge to roll his eyes. "Don't worry, I'll just catch it and come back." He said through gritted teeth.

"Good. What are you standing around for? Go!"

Snakepaw stifled a sigh. How could Mossynose actually think he'd do anything else? Oh, well.

He followed the scent trail, carefully avoiding stepping on twigs. Soon, he heard tiny footsteps, splattering the mud. He crouched down, catching sight of a brown frog. Now it was only a matter of time. Just one more moment...

"Hello?"

"Mouse dung!" he hissed in annoyance as the frog, alerted, hopped away. "Who did that?"

He looked behind the little shrub in front of him. Shrub? Not many bushes grew in ShadowClan. He must be close to the border.

There stood a tan cat with a brown, deformed paw. Snakepaw recognized her for this trait; because of it, her name, Clovertoe, was easy to remember.

"Clovertoe?" he said.

"Yes, that's me. And you are...?"

 "Snakepaw."

"Well, sorry about the frog. But I've got something far more important to tell you. Er, Snakepaw, I've found something unbelievable... But you'll have believe it, okay? Because I need your help. Promise to help me?"

"Well... Okay."

As she told her story, Snakepaw's eyes widened with shock.

"No way anyone in my Clan would do that!"

"You promised to help."

"But... But... Oh, fine! What do you need help with?"

Clovertoe was silent for a moment. Finally, she said, "Now, that was pretty reckless of me, tresspassing on ShadowClan territory, not knowing who I'd find. I need ThunderClan help too, though, so... Do you know any ThunderClan cats?"

Snakepaw tensed. I shouldn't be hanging around with a ThunderClan cat. Especially not... Now that I think about it, I shouldn't be with WindClan, either! He sighed. Oh, well.

"Yes, I know someone." he replied reluctantly. "Her name is Lilypaw..."

Lilypaw snuggled deeper into her wet moss. She hadn't slept well since she got hurt, for every time she fell asleep, she had the prophecy again. Well, this soaking bedding certainly isn't helping. She meant to tell Comfreytail ages ago, but she was always so busy, and anytime she caught her alone, she looked so exausted, she just couldn't bring herself to do anything to worry her. However, the lack of sleep was holding back her recovery.

"Lilypaw?"

LIlypaw sat up, confused. "Comfreytail?" she sniffed the air and gasped. "ShadowClan! Comfr--- Mphfrmfh!"

Someone shoved a paw in her mouth. Wait---now I smell WindClan! Am I hallucinating?

"Stupid furball. We're not going to hurt you."

"Definitely not!" said a voice Lilypaw recognized.

She managed to spit out the paw that, she noticed, felt strangely misshapen. "Snakepaw? What are you doing here?" She cocked her head inquiringly. "And who's this?"

"That doesn't matter right now. We need your help. Listen..."

The story that came next shocked Lilypaw.

"Okay, I'll try to make sure those two cats don't join ThunderClan. But I'm only an apprentice, you know. What's our plan?"

"We don't have one yet." Replied the other cat. By now, Lilypaw had noticed her strangely malformed paw. "Just brainstorm for now, and let's meet next Gathering and come up with a real plan. It may seem minor, but I have a bad feeling about this."

"Understood." Said Lilypaw. "See you then."

I really like you’re idea for the prophecy thing, Clovertoe. Okay so I’m mushing the ideas together to see how it looks, if you don’t like it that’s fine.

What if so, Sleekwhisker and Marshlily ended up joining ThunderClan, and them and a third cat from ThunderClan cause the trouble (the lightning strike), and WindClan will make the battle worse I’m not sure how, and a cat from RiverClan brings peace. And the shadows are ShadowClan bc Sleekwhisker and Marshlily are from there. Like it?

And also I will try to post an installment of story sometime soon. ;P

Yes, sure! By the way... This would probably be awkward for both of us, but... What are your thoughts on the relationship between Lilypaw and Snakepaw? Not just THEM, but what will other cats think? For example, Clovertoe. (Weird to be saying my own name...) She's helping them solve the mystery, right? If, or really, when, their relationship develops, will she report them? Or quit working with them? Just feel like an awkward 3rd wheel? What do you think?
