New Role Play

New Role Play Story!

Anyone who wants to join can!  Let's try to keep the archnemeses (plural of nemesis is nemeses, Admin) down to a max of five, persay; same with the heroes.  Let's get cracking, shall we?

The young woman sprang through the undergrowth of the forest.  Her clothing helped her blend in with the forest, but she did not need the camoflage.  Her hunting knife lay across her right hip, and her quiver and bow across her back, both within easy reach.  Her brown locks flew out behind her, her brown eyes wide with fear.  The men behind her must not discover Rihana!  She attempted to increase her speed in vain; the day's events had exausted her. Somewhere behind her, she heard a shout. The men were almost upon her!  She spun around and halted to draw her hunting knife from it's sheath.  A knife shot out from nowhere, hitting it's target in the side.  The maiden collapsed, unconscious , just as the men  appeared out of the forest now in front of her.  As the men carried her out of the forest, her hair fell back, revealing a single, perfectly pointed ear.

(Hope it's okay if I play Surinta for a tiny bit, Mango! If not, let me know...)

"Who are you?" Alanna asked the other elf, feeling the slightest bit better.

"I am Surinta"

"I am Alanna. Good, we know each other, now lets work on an escape plan. We'll need to store food, that's for sure..."

"Mmmhmm" agreed Surinta.

"So, uh, we can't really do much right now, considering we just received food... Do you want to know more about me? Maybe our fathers knew each other or something." said Alanna, not knowing what to do or say.

"Umm, okay." she agread.

"Well, uh, I'm Alanna, like I said, and- oh!"

"What?" Surinta sounded concerned.

"Uggggh," she moaned "I feel so sick."

"Do you have an ilness or something?"

"Nooooo" Alanna said slowly, as though measuring her words. "I'm, uh, going, to, er, have a baby in um, a few months." The words sounded strange on her tongue. She had never told anyone, but here she was, telling an elf she had just met!

"Oh." said Surinta softly. Helena silently tip-toed away. She had finally confirmed her guess. It was definate now. She grined. Maybe she could hold the information for a while and see what the other assasins would do to get it...

((I was right. *gloats* ;D))

//Helena//

"Ye-e-es," said Helena, drawing the word out to leave no question in her colleague's mind, "I definitely heard her correctly. As I've now told you... three times... but you're still not believing me..."

Valour shrugged. "Can never be too certain I s'pose. Did she say when?"

"Valour!" hissed Helena furiously. "I just told you three times!"

Valour tried to make a calming gesture with his hands. He was pitifully unsuccessful. Helena told him so; he scowled.

"Alright then," Valour snapped. "Thank you for your excellent work, Lena, I'll be sure to tell His Majesty."

"Well how very nice for you," smirked Helena. "You be sure and tell him that Lieutenant d'Mario found out, 'k?"

Valour rolled his eyes and left. Helena scowled.

Surinta was strangely happy. One wouldn't normally be glad while being locked into a dungeon and left there, but here Surinta was, happy as can be. Perhaps it's because of the other elf, Surinta mused. She had never had many friends. And she hadn't figured it out until now, but having friends was just about the best feeling in the world.

Surinta's joy was quickly erased by a feeling of sickness that all of a sudden swept over her. She moaned, catching the other elf's attention. "What?" Alanna asked. "Oh... nothing," Surinta replied, grimacing, but just as she did another wave of sickness overcame her and left her moaning on the floor. Alanna was quickly by her side. "Are you okay?" "Yes... I think so," Surinta murmured. Then she sighed. "Well, no, actually. I feel sick." "What?" asked a puzzled Alanna. "I was just sick." Surinta quickly sat up. "But then that must mean something is causing it, that it isn't just your baby! Something is making us sick!" "But nothing could," Alanna said. "We've only sat and ate. Nothing could make us sick here, unless we've been bitten by rats." Surinta's eyes widened. "Then it must be the food! We both ate, remember?" Alanna slowly nodded. "Then we can't eat," Surinta said firmly. "But we'll starve!" Alanna pleaded. Surinta slowly grinned. "No, we won't."

Sorry, I'm doing a different role play right now, and don't want to start another one. But Megan, I read the first part to your rols play, and I loved it! Great job.

Slowly, Surinta pulled a package out from under her cloak. Grinning at the surprised face of the other elf, she unwrapped it to reveal a loaf of bread and some berries. "Where did you get it?" queried Alanna, shocked with wonder. "I always carry it with me. For emergencies." Surinta looked around slowly, then laughed. "And I have to say, this looks like an emergency to me." Alanna sighed. "But we can't eat now- we just did. And we would waste it. Let's wait until we're nearly starving." Then, noting the expression on Surinta's face, added,"Well, okay, maybe not that long." Surinta looked relieved. Then she asked," Suinti kanta Faisk?" Alanna looked surprised. " I thought nobody spoke that language anymore." "Then you don't?" asked Surinta, disappointed. Alanna nodded. "Oh, I do.... I mean, Er, ru sha." Surinta looked delighted to find someone who spoke her native language. And she said so: " Suinti tina ru linon ber Faisk!" Alanna replied in Elvish, and a conversation arose. The two chatted on, unaware that they were being watched.

(Mary, i hope you don't mind that i played her a little.)

Holly gaped at the so called Helena d'Mario. SHe wondered if she'd noticed her. She was glad that she didn't. She the woman turned to looked at her. "And what's this? Another elf?" Holly spat on Helena's feet and said,  "Of course not, you stupid woman! Nimirum non, vos bardus mulier! " She glared at her. "I am no full elf. I am only half. So let me go." She immediately regreted her words. The woman turned to stare at her. She continued hastily,"Your food poison cannot hurt me. It does not hurt humans. It would only make me a little sick. There is nothing you can do to make me tell you anything! " She spat at her again. "Oh, and if you're wondering why I am speaking English, is so though siple minds like yours will understand it." She bit her lip. That was too far.  Helena seized her by the wrists and glared at her. Holly became scared. What would she do?

Alanna sighed. "I have an idea! Lets see if we can climb out of our cell. It almost seems like there's a gap at the top." Alanna felt her way over to the bars on the side of the cell. She was able to reach the top of the cell bars and pull her head and shoulders through the small space between the cell and the ceiling. She tried shoving herself through, but she couldn't fit her stomach through. She took a deep breath and shoved as hard as she could. She tumbled over the edge, landing on her back-side with a cry. "Oh!" she pressed one hand to her stomach and one to her ankle, closing her eyes and breathing deeply. "Ow, ow ow! I think I might have hurt my ankle. I don't want to do that more than once!" S\she told Surinta. "Do you see anything we could use for light?" she asked, still sitting on the floor.

"No," replied Surinta dismally. "Are we really going to try to escape now?"

"We have to." Alanna could hear Surinta climbing. Suddenly she felt someone land beside her. She shrieked.

"Shhhh!" Surinta quickly bent down and covered Alanna's mouth with her hands. "We can't get caught! Lets go!" She held out her hand to help Alanna up. Surinta reached up to help Alanna up. Alanna aquardly got to her feet.

"Ow! My ankle hurts and I can walk, but I can't go that fast." Both elves sighed.

"Well, lets go." They set off, Surinta supporting Alanna by holding her arm.

"Thanks, Surinta," said Alanna gratefully. "I wouldn't know what to do wothout you." Alanna smiled as they limped their way down a deap corridor, not even knowing where they were headed.

((I'm so sorry that I sort of left you guys.  It's bad enough
to do on a regular post, but I feel twice as bad with it being my own.
I just haven't had as much time because of school.  I'll still be
posting, just probably not as often as I would like.

Hmm...  I think I'll say that Silena was knocked out during her interrogation, and only now put with the others.  That should work.))

Silena awoke slowly, painfully aware of the throbbing on the side of her temple.  Once again, she was in the dungeon.  There were two elves over on the other side of the cell...

Wait.  Two elves.  Her first panicked thought was that Rihana had been captured, but she almost immediately reassured herself.  If they had captured Rihana, she would be dead, not imprisoned.  But then who was the newcomer?  Silena slowly rose up to a crouch, crawling over to the bars on the door.  She then rose unsteadily to her feet, using the bar as support.  Once upright, however, she collapsed, the throbbing in her head having momentarily increased, causing her to briefly blackout.  She let out a cry of pain that alerted her cellmates to her consciousness.  They rushed over to help her stand, then walked over to the other side and gently placed her on the floor.  Surinta gave introductions ((Should she tell me about Alanna's baby (love the name Alanna, by the way, Emma.)), then explained the situation to Silena.  Silena was silent for a moment, then said, "With my head injury, and the poison in the food, I would say that escape is improbable, possibly impossible.  What should we do?"

((We need more evil people.  Mary Liz always makes a fantastic villian, but she can't do it on her own.  Anyone game?  If not, I can create someone, but they might not appear often- my busy high school schedule, remember?))

(( Ahhhh! Conflicting post! We're gonna die! D: Jk. So how about they talked to her, then Sutinta showed them the food, and then they escaped? Sound good? Oh, and how about Alanna's so big now, Surinta didn't need to tell Selina? Oh, and thanks, Megan (about liking Alanna's name) ))

@ Megan: Ooh, really? Thanks! *hugs*

But yes, we do need more villains. They're so fun...))

The elf Surinta was wrong in thinking that having friends was the best feeling in the world, of course. The best feeling in the world was the special rush one got from hearing the screams of victims in agonizing pain. That was why Helena was grinning so much as she appropriately punished the impertinent half-elf Holly for her wholly unsuitable behaviour.

It was nice to have a boss who didn't mind it when his employees tortured... guests.

Helena smirked at that thought.

That Holly... She had such bad manners.

Sedwe enjoyed...punishing her. Shouting obscenities at others was mean. Even in another language.

"Lieutenant D'Mario, let's lock her up for tonight," Sedwe said.

"I'm going on patrol. I'll find a few elves, maybe a changeling or two, and then we can it a day."

Sedwe loved her job. But then she heard a voice. "The prisoners have escaped!"

((@ Emma- That sounds like a good plan.  And you're welcome!  One of my heroines is named Alanna (See rants on Tamora Pierce/Tortall on BaB).

@Mary Liz- You're quite welcome!  I mean it when I give someone a compliment.  Your villians are just the right mixture of humor and evilness.

And so, unaware that the poison they ingested is slowing killing them, we return to the three valiant heroines escaping from their cell...))

Slowly, painfully slowly it seemed to Silena, they made progress into the unknown.  She knew that this was the best they could do under the circumstances, but it was not enough to escape in one piece.  She considered leaving the other two elves to fend for themselves, but only for a brief moment.  To abandon another elf was taboo in the elven code; this was a human concept.  Then again, she no longer followed the elven code, and she had Rihana to consider...

Surinta and Alanna halted without warning, doubling over in pain.  Concerned, Silena asked them what pained them. ((I'm going to take over you characters a bit here.  I can change it if you don't like it.))

"It's the poison," Surinta gasped.  "Can't you feel it?"

Silena pondered this for a moment, then said, "No, I can feel no poison.  Are you telling me that you can feel the drug?"

"Yes.  It is quite painful."

Silena automatically reached for the pouch of herbs she kept at her side at all times, then remembered that it had been confinscated.  "This does not sound like an ordinary poison.  I have been wondering why we would be poisoned in the first place.  We have not told them all they wish to know yet.  Also, most poisons are quick, they do not drag on like this one.  No, I believe that this poison is one to keep us captive, not to kill."

"I have never heard of such a drug.  It sounds impossible."

"I have lived amon-" Silena broke off, horrified.  She had almost told them that she was an outcast, and then Rihana would have died!  She must stay on her guard at all times, she could not risk slipping.  She brought her mind back to the present--now was not the time to berate herself--and continued, "I have learned much of human customs, they have discovered a drug, that, once consumed, one must continue to get in order to survive.  I know of the antidote, in truth, I have it, but it was taken from me when I was captured.  If we could find where they keep such things,  could cure you, but we must be quick.  The drug will kill you by nightfall unless you are given the antidote within a few hours.  There is no other way."

((Is this okay with you guys?  Again, I can change it if not.))

((sounds good! *grimace* bear with me, my spell-check wont work and my spelling... Lets just say it's not my best subject...))

Alanna moaned. She felt shaky and nosious. "We need to go ba-" she was unable to finish her sentence as she, again, nearly collapsed with pain. She clutched her stomach. "We need to go back," she said weakly "I can't stand this. It can't be good for us. But, if we go back," she said, arguing with herself "They'll never let us escape! Selina, what is the antidote? Is there any-" she broke off. It felt like she was being shot again and again by Helena's lazer. Her consciousness flickered. She managed to squeak out "Any way we could find the antidote without going back?" before the pain overwhelmed her. She looked at Surinta. Surinta was in pain, she could tell it was horrible, but it wasn't quite as bad as hers. "Why is it hitting me so bad?" she said, before she fell to the ground, unconscious.

Surinta gasped. Not only was the pain overwhelming her, but her friend seemed... Surinta couldn't bear it. She cried out and crawled weakly over to Alanna. Shaking her, she noticed that Alanna's eyelashes were fluttering slightly. "Oh!" she cried in relief. "Wake up, Alanna!" Alanna slowly regained conciousness. Silena and Surinta both smiled in great relief. "Oh, Alanna! You're all right!" Surinta cried. "Well, maybe not as much as you think," Alanna said faintly. "Can't you find the antidote?" Surinta begged Silena. The elf shook her head. "I don't think so. The only place you can get it is the forest we were captured in, and we don't know how far away that is." Surinta suddenly leapt up. "What?" asked Alanna, puzzled. "Whoa!" Surinta cried, as her weak legs failed to support her. Strangely, she began to laugh. Her friends looked at her as though she had sprouted fur. Surinta, aware of this, explained: "I lived in the forest all my life- I can find it from anywhere!" Silena frowned. "Anywhere?" "Yes!" Surinta exclaimed, nodding vigorously. "I practically lived in the trees!" "Well, if the antidote's there, I say we go," Alanna replied. Surinta slowly stood up, wobbling slightly on her weak legs. When she had recovered her balance, she helped up Alanna and Silena, and the three set off towards the faraway forest.
