New Role Play Story!

Anyone who wants to join can!  Let's try to keep the archnemeses (plural of nemesis is nemeses, Admin) down to a max of five, persay; same with the heroes.  Let's get cracking, shall we?

The young woman sprang through the undergrowth of the forest.  Her clothing helped her blend in with the forest, but she did not need the camoflage.  Her hunting knife lay across her right hip, and her quiver and bow across her back, both within easy reach.  Her brown locks flew out behind her, her brown eyes wide with fear.  The men behind her must not discover Rihana!  She attempted to increase her speed in vain; the day's events had exausted her. Somewhere behind her, she heard a shout. The men were almost upon her!  She spun around and halted to draw her hunting knife from it's sheath.  A knife shot out from nowhere, hitting it's target in the side.  The maiden collapsed, unconscious , just as the men  appeared out of the forest now in front of her.  As the men carried her out of the forest, her hair fell back, revealing a single, perfectly pointed ear.

Umm, I is confused?  Did the others leave to find the herb and leave Surinta behind or were you hinting at something else?

No, everyone walked away while Surinta was up in the tree. I'm waiting for somebody to notice she's gone.

K, I've been mapping out Helena as my NaNo MC, and her personality is a lot more... colourful in there, so forgive me if I totally slip up and make a reference to something only I know about if this RP ever becomes alive again...

Yeeeah...))

Ummm, Megan, are you going to have Selina tell Rhiana why they ate poisoned food and is someone *looks at Megan* going to find the cure-herby-thingimy-bobber? I think Surinta and Alanna are sorta unable to move because of the poison...

Surinta is not affected as much as Alanna because she has her own food. She did resort to the poisoned kind sometimes, but now she is almost healed. Unfortunately she is up in a tree and thus can't do anything. Will someone find out she's missing and go looking for her?

Surinta was lost in memory, this time not her own. The tree was giving her strength. She felt as if she could fly a thousand miles, as if she could leap higher than the clouds, as if she could run over oceans and mountains without tire. Unbeknownst to her, a strange flying creature was growing closer. In fact, it saw her. And that was only the beginning of the trouble...

((Sorry, I haven't been truly online (a.k.a. not doing schoolwork) for weeks/months.  High school is exhausting...  I'll try to post, but you might not see me often.))

Silena did not stop to think; she crouched down, picked up Rihana, and raced down toward the cottage.  She did not stop to see if the others were following.  She burst into view of the cottage and sprinted inside.  She strode over to the medicine cabinet, and proceeded to tear it apart.

"Rihana," she said.  "Where is the silth'nair?  I need it!"

Rihana opened her mouth to speak, but she was a moment to late.  There was a forbidding crash, and the two gazed down in horror at the twinkling glass and the silvery liquid seeping into the wooden floorboards.

((Sorry about breaking that glass...  It just wouldn't be as good otherwise.  Maybe some people *coughcoughyou-know-who-you-arecoughcough* will come back now that their lives are in peril. *hopeful grin*))

Surinta watched in horror as the dot in the sky grew closer and closer. When she could make out the shape, she saw that it was a bird. It was huge, and had an evil glint in its eye. Then it saw her. Surinta gasped and tried to climb down the tree. She urged herself to go faster, but the bird dove with her. I need a weapon! My knife! she thought frantically, reaching for her knife. Then she remembered- the asassins had taken it. Now at the bottom of the tree, she grabbed a branch and braced herself. When the bird flew at her, she swept at its wings. The bird screeched and flapped downward, zooming up into the sky. Then it dove. Surinta swung- and missed. "No!" she yelled as the bird knocked the weapon out of her hands. It scooped her up in its talens, and Surinta, frantically kicking and flailing, was carried upward into the sky.

((*thinks carefully* I don't think Helena's life is in peril, but I *am* back. :D Sorry for my absence...

I am so confused between my nano Helena and the Helena here. Pleas forgive me if I make a reference to... something... that you don't get... *Udrifts off in a confused way*))

//Helena//

Meeting. Ugh. Helena gritted her teeth as she shuffled the papers she was holding. Meetings were not fun. No shooting, no bloodshed, no interestingness in general.

She had come with Valour and Mitch to give the monthly report to Prince Rodney on how their squadron was doing. Rodney, of cours, could not be less interested and was, after all, engaged in the mind-consuming process of having one's nails clipped for one. Helena was briefly distracted by the shiny file.

Valour had detailed the elves' escape with considerable vexation twice now, and all Rodney had really done was nod here and there and occasionally say something intelligent like, "Oh, yes, quite peculiar," or, "You don't say, general!" with very little emotion. Helena doubted that he was even aware of whom he was talking to.

Her mind wandered back to the orders she'd been given to get information of the elf the RA had emlpoyed. She shrugged. That hadn't gone very well; trying to read the subhuman was like trying to read a book with no words. Helena thought back to the last time she'd heard that phrase and clenched her fists a bit. Her time would be better served trying to hunt down Punk.

((aaaaand there she goes with the references... apologies. /guiltiness))

((SORRY! I'm back, now!))

Alanna stumbled into the doorway. "What was that?" Surina was crying, scared by the crashes and shouting.

"That" Selina cried "Was your antidote!" she fell to her knees and picked up a sharp of glass, scooping the fading liquid into it. Rihana grabbed a towel and started soaking it up.

"I think," she told her mother "that we can squeeze drops from this into their mouths. I think I have enough, now." She stood up and, as Alanna opened her mouth, squeezed drops from the towel into Alanna's mouth. Alanna swallowed and sighed.

"Thank you!" she nearly sang. "Come on! Let's get Surinta!" she
danced outside and ran to the trees, calling Surinta's name. Alanna
heard shouts and loud thwacks coming from a tall oak. She edged
closer to the tree, Rihana and Selina running up beside her. Alanna
peaked her head around. There she saw a giant bird and Surinta hitting
it with a tree-branch. Alanna started forward, but the bird knocked the
branch out of Surinta's hands. "NO!!" Alanna and Surinta cried out in
unison. The bird grabbed Surinta and took off. Alanna ripped the towel
from Rihana's hands and hurled it at Surinta, who just barely hooked it
around her finger. Alanna motioned for her to drink, and she did,
looking a hundred times better. "Selina? Do you have any bows and
arrows?" Selina darted back to the house, taking only a few seconds to
return with a bow and five arrows. Alanna yanked and arrow from its
quiver and fitted it to the bow. She pulled back and shot, aiming above
the bird, so it should fly right at it. Alanna's arrow hit its mark.
The bird plummeted to the ground, taking a terrified Surinta with it.

((Gack!  I think that that bird was one of the characters!  That person hasn't been on since their first post though, so it should be all right.

So, what do we do now?  Everyone's run off, and we only have Mary Liz.  Awesome as she is, she cannot enter the portal.  Ideas?  Or should I just give up on this (still amazing) thread?  I really don't want to, but if the rest of you aren't that interested, I'll accept that.))
