Elemental Solo Write

Four islands lie above a sea of nothingness--four kingdoms, four peoples, four elements, all carefully balanced.
Earth, a rich, fertile kingdom, whose people farm and prosper, and whose cities are thick with the sounds of merchants hawking their wares.
Air, a kingdom of tall mountains, whose lofty spires reach till they look like they can touch the sky, and whose people study and grow lerned.
Fire, a desert kingdom of sand, whose rolling dunes conceal secrets, and whose people carve caverns into the sandstone cliffs, delving deep into the rock.
Water, a harsh, cold kingdom, whose people survive and become strong, building cities and castles through labor and determination.

Until now, the kingdoms have been at peace, knowing that war could break the balance, tip the scales, and bring ruin upon all of them. Flying to and fro in huge balloons or airships, wary, but secure, they have traded.
Until now. Rumor has spread that the people of the fire kingdom have stolen the earth kingdom's Cordis Stone--each kingdom has one, a stone or gem infused with magical power. If the rumers are true, and if the fire people cannot be stopped, they will attack the now weakened earth kingdom, and the destruction could mean the end of all the four kingdoms. Secretly, members of all of the kingdoms have banded together, calling themselves the Elementals. They plan to restore the Earth Cordis stone to the earth kindom. If the tales are true, the stone has been placed in the center of the fire kingdom, deep within an abandoned system of maze-like caves. But what dangers must be faced to recover it? Can all of the Elementals be trusted?

I loved it Story Weaver!  I liked how you incorporated the characters quirks and flaws.  You portrayed Atheya well.  I can’t wait until next Sunday!

I think you said Vryn when you meant Atheya a few times but I understand completely.  You have a lot of characters to keep track of.  (I hope that didn’t come across sounding critical, if it did I didn’t mean it that way).

This is so good and so cool!

Agest Winter, if you have the time, could you possibly draw Charity?  It's alright if you don't!

Thank you for your time!

@The Story Weaver-

Are you still taking character submissions to incorporate to your story?

Just in case you are:

~~~
Name: Roslynh (pronounced Roz-lin, Roz for short)
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Nationality: Water
Appearance: Long, thick black hair, usually in a simple braid. Dark blue eyes, pale skin. She always carries her toolbelt. Her expression is usually wary and mistrustful. She can usually be found doing odd jobs in her work outfit- her self-assigned uniform: black leggings and belt, short blue skirt and headband, white blouse and boots
Backround: Both of Roslynh's parents were kidnapped and killed by a small group of Fire people when she was 11, but the authorities passed it off as an accident. But it happened. Roz saw. She has no siblings and few friends.
Personality: Roslynh is very mistrustful and shy, especially of fire people (though thankfully she doesn't have to interact with them much), but when you get to know her, she is amazing. She will do anything for her friends, and has an amazing deathglare that you do NOT want to be on the recieving end of. Roz can be very very persuasive, but she rarely uses that power irresponsibly. Another one of her skills is that she can shoot a bow and arrow with flawless aim- consistently.
Quirks: She absolutely will never, ever, ever, EVER eat fish (she has a pet one), and the only colors she ever wears are blue, black, and white.
Flaws: Roz can be quick to judge people, and is good at reading too much into a situation. She is very dramatic, and can make a mountain out of a molehill, but she knows this, and tries not to do it too often.
Elemental?: No, Roslynh is not an Elemental- but that does not mean she does not wish she was one. The Elementals are very hard to track down, but she hopes she'll be able to find them and use her persuasive skills to convince them to let her join.
Part 2.
"Can we get out?" Atheya asked.
"I think so," Vryn said. "But...I'm not sure if we can get back in once we leave.
The silence was grim.
Cyraeus took a deep breath. "Then we should go. The Earth's Cordis must be found."
Jakra nodded, and she was about to lead them out of the cave and down a tunnel, when she hesitated. "We should have someone keep track of which turns we take. It may help us to find out way out more easily."
Galadriel licked her lips. "I...will. I have a good memory for patterns and names." Jakra looked at her doubtfully, but Darius was quick to back Galadriel up.
"She does. On the way here I told her the names of twenty different mountains in the Water country, and she remembered them all."
"Very well." Jakra said. She started down the passage. The others followed, with Darius, who had the other lit torch, bringing up the rear. At the first split of ways, Jakra took the righthand passage, which curved to the left and then plunged steeply downward in an almost sheer rock face for twenty feet. Jakra stopped.
"Does anyone have rope?" No one answered for a moment, and then Atheya spoke up.
"I do, if you'll give me a moment." She untied her braided brown belt, and then began to unweave it, carefully seperating the strands. When she was done, she had a coil of slender rope about thirty feet long.
"That's amazing!" Vryn said. "Will it hold?"
"Of course it will hold!" Said Atheya, more loudly than she had meant to. Vryn was surprised by the vehemence in her tone. She took a step back. Atheya saw, and her expression softened. "Sorry, I'm just stressed. It will hold. I'll go down first, if you like." She tied the rope to an outcropping of rock at the top, then carefully lowered herself over the edge. The hem of her blue dress, looser for the loss of the belt, showed out from under her Integrum. Once she had reached the bottom, the others followed her, leaving the rope tied where it was to help them when they were leaving the cave.
They continued through the veritable maze of passages. At a four way crossing, Jakra's first torch went out. She lit her other one. As they continued, Cyraeus spoke up.
"So, what exactly is the Earth Cordis? What does it look like, and what does it do?"
Atheya answered him. "As you know, each of the kindoms has a Cordis--a rock or gem with magical powers. The Earth's Cordis is a fossil, a small stone with the imprints of ancient leaves in it. Although its powers are mysterious, we know of two for sure. While you are near a Cordis, you are affected by its charism. With the Air cordis, when you're near it, you want to study and learn. With the Earth, you want to work hard and spend time in the sun."
Darius whistled under his breath. "That's amazing! I had no idea."
"The other known power that the Cordis has," continued Atheya, "Is supporting its country. It's hard to see until the Cordis is removed from the country and the power stops. You know how the earth is having a drought right now? I think that's why."
"What!?" Vryn had stopped in the middle of the passage. "The drought is because the Cordis was removed!?"
"I think so." Atheya said warily.
"I cannot believe it! I had thought that it was just one of the natural droughts that happen from time to time, but no! The famine will continue and my family will starve because the horrible fire stole the Cordis-"
"The fire are not horrible." Jakra said softly.
"And they don't realize that the Earth feeds all of the islands and we will all starve because those uncivilized-"
"They are not uncivilized." Jakra said. There was a steely edge in her voice, but Vryn didn't notice.
"Hid it so that those barbarians can conquer the Earth-"
"My people are not barbarians!" For the first time, Jakra let her fire accent show. In the stunned silence, she stood, radiating fury.
"Jakra, you're fire?" Darius asked.
"Yes!" Jakra said venemously. "Why else would I have grown up here? How else could I have known my way around the caves? Or have drawn a detailed chart of the island? Why else would I have a fire accent?"
"You were hiding it." Atheya said.
"I had to hide it because otherwise everyone shunned me because of suspicion and stupid prejudiece!"
Vryn, who had been shocked into silence spoke up angrily. "The prejudice is well founded!"
"No it was not! No prejudice is well founded-"
"Who can trust a people who would steal a Cordis to gain power-"
"I don't want power!" Over the sound of the arguing, Darius's voice was heard.
"This is exactly what Jarnel warned us about!" No one spoke. "How can we find the Cordis if we can't forget old grudges? What the Fire kingdom did was wrong, but it not Jakra's fault. We've all suffered, and we are trying to make amends. The sooner we find the Cordis, the sooner wrongs can be made right. Anyone have a problem with that?" He paused. No one spoke up. "Allright. Let's continue." Jakra pressed her lips together and led them on, more quickly than before.
~~~

"Your majesty? One question."
"Yes, leutenant?"
"Did our kingdom steal the Earth Cordis?"
"Does it matter?"
"Well, yes, I think it does. Whoever has the Cordis can invade the Earth kingdom."
"That's true, they can. But."
"But what, sir?"
"It does not matter who has the Cordis, as long as the Earth themselves do not have it."
"I don't quite follow..."
"As long as the Earth is weakened, anyone can invade. I see you understand now."
"Yes, sir."
"And that means..."
"We must prevent the Cordis from being retrieved."
"Which is why we sent along our spy. We must hope that it is a useful one. Now. You are dismissed, leutenant."
"Very well, your Majesty."

Yeah, I posted one day early. I was exited! I'll probably post again before next week, depending on how busy I am.

@Luminescence, I'm no longer taking character submissions for the story. Twelve is a lot!

Anyway, to all of you whose characters have not yet been included, thanks for your patience! I will put all of you in starting in part 3 or 4. Thanks again!

@Admins, sorry about such a long post!

Get ready for some plot twists next time!
