Author Pairs

I'm not sure if any of you remember this or not, but I found a really cool thread from a while ago. It's too long to comment on again, but I thought I'd try to make another one just like it. Here's what it is (copied from the original thread):

The Author Pairs Movement.

Hello, welcome to 'The Author Pairs Movement.' (TAPM).

---------------------------------------------

A

Q: What exactly is 'The Author Pairs Movement'

A: 'The Author Pairs Movement' otherwise known as the TAPM is a place where authors to come and look for another similiar to them in level and genre and pair up with them to write a poem, song, short story, chapter story, etc.

Q: So...how are they paired up with their match?

A: Well first the TAPM managers view the forms that authors have filled out, and judging by the quality of the sample story (poem, song, etc) and the type of genre they like, the TAPM managers will pair them up with someone who is on the same level and likes the same genre.

Q: So, in the forms, do you have to give out any real information..like last name, address, email...you know, stuff you could track me down with?

A: Nope! You just have to give out your name (first name only) or your nickname, a sample story (song, poem, etc.), and likes and dislikes!

Name: Alexandra S.

Favorite story genre: Fantasy is my favorite, especially medieval swords-and-sorcery kind of books, but I'm also okay with modern fantasy and sci-fi.

Favorite poem genre: I like all of them, but sometimes my rhyming poems don't turn out very well.

Favorite song genre: I probably won't want to write a song.

Story sample:

“Wake up! Wake up! Kari, get out of bed!” Kari moaned and rolled over, but her little sister, Lizzy, kept tugging on her arm. “It’s snowing!”
“Snowing?” asked Kari groggily, still half asleep. “As in, frozen water falling from the sky?”
“That’s what snow is, isn’t it?” replied Lizzy impatiently. “Come on, look at it!” Kari stumbled out of bed and pulled open the curtains. She gasped in disbelief.
“It really is snow!” she cried. Sure enough, the ground was covered in pure white, with tiny crystals falling down from the heavens. Kari’s breath started to fog up the window, and she wiped it away with her sleeve.
“How is that possible?” she asked, shaking her head. “This is California!” She looked at Lizzy, who was bouncing up and down with excitement.
“It must have been the snow fairies!” she cried excitedly, still bouncing. “I was extra super-duper good, so they made it snow just for me!” Kari smiled.
“I’m sure they did,” she replied. “Are Mom and Dad awake?”
“Yup, I jumped on them until they got out of bed.” Kari laughed and started down the stairs, taking them two at a time. She threw open the door and found her parents staring out the window, just as amazed as she was.
“Mom, Dad, can I go outside?” Kari asked excitedly.
“Sure, honey, but you need to put on the jacket from when we went to Tahoe.”
“Okay, just a sec.” Kari raced back up the stairs and got changed. When she was finally ready, she almost tripped going out the door. The powdery white snow felt different than anything she had ever experienced. Kari tramped around to the side of the house, where she brushed snow off the bench and sat down, staring up at the tiny, delicate crystals falling down from the sky. She stuck out her tongue and caught a few, the icy flakes melting almost instantly. As Kari sat there, surrounded by white flakes that swirled like ballet dancers, the crisp air nipping at her skin, the powdery ground cushioning her feet, there wasn’t anywhere in the world she would rather be. Kari had seen her first snow.

It's not my best story, and it doesn't have much of a plot, but it's the shortest thing I have. Sorry!

Name: KauKatKay (Kat)

Favorite story genre: Fantasy, so totaly fantasy but I like a little sci-fi too. Historical-type stuff is my fav with a little magic thrown in.

Favorite poem genre: Eh, I don't really read poetry but I like the same stuff as my story genre.

Favorite song genre: Eek... you expect me to write a song?!

Story sample:

Getting there will be much harder than it looks," I think to myself as I run along the deserted hallway.

My name is Ketu, Ketu G. Nafu. I am an 18-year-old girl, and one of the Recruiters for the Loenbeir, the rebel group that is fighting for freedom. We are an oppressed people; from birth we are taken away from all society and paired with three others that we grow up with. We aren't allowed to have contact with any other people besides our group. I was paired with a girl, Lemi B. Berymolg, and 2 boys, Rettow Scops and Anefin Wheting. I am the only one left from our inseparable foursome. The Loenbier recruited us all, they found us and visited us every night, and we grew to trust them. I still remember the names of the two that visited us. Kari Harrison, and Jazie May. They were both 19, 3 years older than us at the time, and their families had been part of the Loenbier for three generations. They’re both dead now. Them and Lemi and Ret and Ane all died the night that I escaped. I am for some reason immune to the deadly gas they sprayed at us.

"Run Ketu, don't wait for us!" I remember Jazie shouting as she struggled for breath. Kari, Ret, and Lemi were already unconscious, but Ane wasn't. He was such a fighter! I get teary just thinking about it. Ane pushed himself off the floor and pulled me towards him, and his last words to me were, "Don't give up Ketu, fight for what you know is right." Then, with his last bit of strength, he leaned forward and kissed me. His lifeless body slumped to the cold floor, and I ran, sobbing, out into the open space, then into the woods, where I was pushed onto a horse and taken away.

Yay!!

Oh! And heres the rest of my story expert, it's a short story titled A Spark of Understanding.

I've trained long and hard since then, and now finally, I can live up to Anefin's last words and fight for what I believe in.

Finnaly, I come up to a door and stop running. Amy May, the daughter of Jazie comes to a stop behind me. Jed Bunker, our group leader is already here waiting for me. I have access to these dormitories, because I used to live in them. I press my index finger to the center of the door, and it beeps softly. I take my hand away as it slides open. The two 12-year-old girls, Lyloh and Halclaem, were waiting for us. Their heads were shaved, like mine had been, but I had faith it would grow back over time, as mine was now nearly elbow length.

"Come with us, quickly!" whispers Jed urgently.

They don't wait for further instruction, but dash out of the room. Jed and Amy run off right away, I close the door and then follow quickly too. We finally reach the end door, that's already open. The one girl, Lyloh, runs out the door right away, followed closely by my companions, but Halclaem pauses for a moment.

"What are you waiting for?" I pant. She looks at me, there are tears in her eyes.

"I can finally live up to his last words," she says. I notice there are tears in her eyes. "Our other room mate, he got sick and died. Jenib. His last words to me were, 'You have to get out of here, no matter what, you must escape.'"

We look in each others eyes, and I know, we can both tell. It's like, we both know what the other has gone through, and now its over. We can let go.

I know that Halclaem and I are going to be good friend, and we will both keep fighting, together.

Haha! Spammy says goof! Yes, you are a goof spammy. XD

Aww thanks for helping me guys! I'll sample my story.
"So what do you think we should do for them?" whispers 10-year-old Sar Mi Viora usually called Saiora. " I don't know...something adultish?" 14-year-old Mary Clara replies, very well knowing that adultish isn't a word. Saiora and Mary Clara are talking about what to give their parents for their 15th anniversary. Saiora is a young girl adopted by Mrs. and Mr. Polluck to befriend Mary Clara. She has small brown eyes and is quarter Korean and three-fourths American. She has silky ink black hair and is very stubborn and always gets her way. Mary Clara is nearly the opposite. She is calm and very tall. She has dark brown, long, wavy hair and pale skin with freckles and green-hazel eyes. She is very sweet, pretty and talented. They live in a beautiful home in Malibu, California. "But we have to know what to..." Saiora was interrupted by a... To be continued.

Yes, I think that you can have more than one partner, but I think it would be a little bit hard to keep up with two RP/RRs. But if anyone thinks that they can do it...GO FOR IT!
