NAME: Charlie W.
SPECIES: Human (Homo sapiens)
JOB/TITLE: Sprocketville, Southwest Kyngdom
APPEARANCE: Tall for his age (13), average build, curly dark brown hair always needs a haircut (except right after he gets one)
PERSONALITY: Never the first to speak up, but always the first to notice something
HOME: His parents' house, which his mom likes to say has the most natural light of any underground bunker in Sprocketville, thanks to its many skylights
MOST OFTEN SEEN AT: The machinist wing of the Cypher Labs dormitory, where he lives on a hall with the other gear-nerds. Needless to say it's not the cleanest wing in the building.
FRIEND OR MENTOR: Dr. Sheepshank was the first adult he felt really took him seriously.
ENEMY OR RIVAL: Marcus R., the best machinist at Cypher--and a full year younger than Charlie.
FAVORITE POSSESSION OR OBJECT: His titanium sprocket wrench set, a 13th birthday gift from Dr. Sheepshank.
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: Er, did you try hitting it with a hammer?
STRENGTHS: Inventiveness--at age 8, he built a working dishwasher from scratch.
WEAKNESSES: Confidence--he has trouble standing up for himself sometimes.
BACKGROUND: Charlie grew up in Sprocketville, a small bunker town in Southwest Kyngdom. He was lonely there, since there weren't many other kids around--but that gave him plenty of time to tinker with the smashed-up machines that lined all the roads in town. After he built an entirely new set of household appliances from scratch, word spread across Kyngdom. Eventually, Dr. Sheepshank recruited him to be part of the Cypher Labs team. His parents were sad to see him go, but he didn't think twice: this was his big break.

Note: This is Arlo the Necromancer, but for this character I'll call myself Eyande.
Name: Eyande
Species: Raven
Appearance: A rather small Raven, looks more like a crow. Has haunting eyes.
Personality: Calm and collected. Doesn't speak much.
Home: The hollows of any tree
Most often seen at: Bog & Burrow Inn
Friend or Mentor: Arlo the Necromancer
Enemy or Rival: Illiath Enre
Strengths: Intellegence. Can solve complex puzzles in a few minutes.
Weakness: Sometimes doesn't take problems seriously enough. ('The powers are wreaking havoc? Who cares')
Background: Born in a caravan. All his family was dead. For years he scavenged for food, until he met Arlo the Necromancer at Bog & Burrow. They became friends, teaching each other what they knew about survival in the harshest places in Kyngdom.

JOB/TITLE: Dr. Astri (though barely anyone remembers she has a PhD because her personality isn't very professional-like, most just call her Koe, pronounced Ko-ee)
HOME: A nice village home near Mer
MOST OFTEN SEEN AT: SOCKS HQ
FRIEND OR MENTOR: Her father and many SOCKS scientists
ENEMY OR RIVAL: Supposedly Catastrophe and his army, but only because she was not passionate enough about the cause for him and more passionate about science itself, so she wasn't accepted as a BIG/SOCS scientist, therefore she joined SOCKS and allied with the Resistance. But she's still very friendly, even with Catastrophe supporters.
FAVORITE POSSESSION OR OBJECT: Her journal full of her scientific discoveries and observations
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: Magic is actually science if you really look into it.
STRENGTHS: friendliness, encouraging others, science (particularly environment and creature-related things), passion
WEAKNESSES: impulsiveness (like she'll do a dangerous experiment sometimes and narrowly survive), too trusting, rants about her discoveries a bit too much (where even her avid scientist colleagues get tired)

NAME: Mongolfiera Premurosa, nickname Fiera
AGE: 17
PRONOUNS: she/her
SPECIES: Kitsune shapeshifter. Her mother was half homo cervidae (deer-like humanoids), which is where she gets her antlers from.
JOB/TITLE: Wanderer
APPEARANCE: In human form, she has long sleek green hair, indigo eyes with flecks of gold, golden brown skin, and blue antlers with vines twisted around them. Usually wears a navy blue hooded cloak that shadows her face, with a tunic and loose flowing pants underneath.
In Fox form, she has golden brown fur with tufted ears and emerald green at the end of each of her three tails. Same eye color as above. Her antlers are slightly smaller as a fox than as a human. Her clothes turn into an enchanted silver pin with a fox emblem she wears on her ear. When she becomes a human again, her clothes are already on.
PERSONALITY: quiet, avid reader, introvert, thoughtful, sneaky, when you get to know her is quite funny and kind, hides behind a hard exterior and doesn’t really trust people.
HOME: an expansive cave at the peak of Mount Acqueo

FRIEND OR MENTOR: Friends with Nuvoletta (their sheet later)
ENEMY OR RIVAL: not sure. does anyone have a suggestion?
FAVORITE POSSESION OR OBJECT: A blue-gray stone she found by the ocean before the massacre. It’s been smoothed over completely and is a perfect circle.
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: When life gives you lemons, squirt someone in the eye
STRENGTHS: Endurance and agility. In fox form, she can jump as high as up to four times her height.
WEAKNESSES: Shy
BACKGROUND: Mongolfiera grew up in a wandering musician troupe. When she was 13, they were captured and executed by the village authorities for singing a ballad that demonized King Catastrophe. She escaped because she was collecting rocks and shells on the beach to sell at the next village. Fiera’s been wandering for the last 4 years. Recently she established a permanent home on Mount Acqueo.
OTHER: Fiera plays violin and shamisen. Also, her name, Mongolfiera Premurosa, literally means “thoughtful hot air balloon” in Italian.

NAME: Andrej Gillman (he/they) (early 20's)
SPECIES: Vampire (Sluagh Lineage)
JOB/TITLE: Scientist at SOCKS
APPEARANCE: Tall but hunched. Long thin black hair. Wide eyes. Thin lips and long, jagged fangs. Wears grey coats and tunics, mainly. Long fingers, and a bat-like face. Pointed ears like many naturally-born sluagh.
PERSONALITY: Confrontational and direct, but not out of genuine malice, more issues with empathy. He does his best. Bounces between a truly terrible attention span and hyperfixation on scientific projects. He's a loyal friend, but he tends toward being self centered.
HOME: Local Sluagh clan in a sewer system. It's less awful there than you'd think.
MOST OFTEN SEEN AT: SOCKS headquarters.
FRIEND OR MENTOR: He has a pet rat named Orlok. He loves his rat.
ENEMY OR RIVAL: He has a tendency to latch onto any and all people he views as "equals" or "threats" as rivals. Which lends itself to a degree of shenaniganery. However, he shows a degree of familiarity and courtesy toward his frequently one-sided rivalries that might lead a person to wonder just how genuine it is.
FAVORITE POSSESSION OR OBJECT: Vial of "special blood." Don't ask.
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: "Curiosity killed the cat, but I am beyond the concept of death."
STRENGTHS: Sheer willpower. He doesn't have "enhanced intelligence," he just decided to become a scientist, and then... did it. He lacks any sort of humility about this fact.
WEAKNESSES: Antisocial and freakish. Needlessly confrontational.
BACKGROUND: Born to the Sludge Boys, a clan of Sluagh in a sewer. The Sludge Boys were lead by Wormeater Scur, Andrej's uncle. The Sludge Boys sided with The Rebellion not out of any lofty morals, about half of them would have willingly sided with Catastrophe, but out of fear of local Rebel Forces. The Scum Boys were a small group, and even more relentlessly darwinistic than other Clans. Andrej, a physically weak and "Low-Blooded" specimen, likely would have been outcast if not for his Uncle's relentless pampering. Andrej focused on his studies in an attempt to differentiate himself from his dozen or so cousins and siblings, and eventually managed to get into a university, which he was promptly removed from after turning his roommate. Now he's at SOCKS HQ. Joy.

NAME: Theori Haridal. Pronounced theory (yes, this was on purpose) har-i-doll.
SPECIES: Human
JOB/TITLE: Bioengineer/geneticist
APPEARANCE: Dark, fairly short brown hair, blue eyes, usually wearing gray and a silver bracelet in the shape of a double-helix.
PERSONALITY: Tends to be more quiet (until you mention anything related to genetics, that is), diligent, generally calm and collected, kind, passionate, can lose her patience easily (this does not result in very much anger, but after she loses her patience it takes between half an hour to two hours for her to be calm again), and focused.
HOME: somewhere in Mer
MOST OFTEN SEEN AT: SOCKS Headquarters, or the beach.
FRIEND OR MENTOR: Used to look up to BIG. Not anymore.
ENEMY OR RIVAL: The Brazen Inquiry Guild, where she used to work.
FAVORITE POSSESSION OR OBJECT: Mentioned bracelet.
MOTTO OR FAVORITE SAYING: “Just because it’s in your genes doesn’t mean it’s destiny”.
STRENGTHS: Independence, responsibility, willingness to work
WEAKNESSES: Has trouble working with others on a project, adapting to new situations, and being patient, as mentioned before
BACKGROUND: She used to work at BIG researching genes and genetically editing bacteria cells, but left at about the same time as Dr. Blart Blartrid when BIG started experimenting on animals and humans. Theori Haridal is not her real name. She changed it after leaving BIG, but no one knows exactly why.
