Here's a Woodland

Here's a Woodland RP for those bears, foxes, birds and even dragons who need a Mythical Forest to stay in. I'll give you a small discription of what it looks like later, but for now, just whoever's interested, leave a comment!

Can't wait to here from you!

Ok... this is my first RP so... nervous! @Moon Wolf, thx for giving me such an easy way to join!

~Faubourg~

The scent of cherry pie was unmistakable. Faubourg lifted their snout in the air, following the trail. They could almost taste the ooey gooey tartness of it. And just in time too! Fau's stomach was rumbling like crazy after chasing after that rabbit for HOURS! And it had escaped, too, using a nearby hole and diving through just as Faubourg had been closing in. Still, they had to admire its resourcefulness. The bunny was resourceful, going down the RABBITHOLE to escape! Fau thought, chuckling to themselves. Oh, I've GOT to write that one down! But just then, the aroma of cherry pie was replaced with another, more mysterious smell. Hunger forgotten, Fau sat up and sniffed again. Yep, it had to be! Celestia, returning at last! Faubourg could barely contain their excitement, their wolf friend had disappeared for a while, hunting down information on some guy called Disaster or something (That would be a funny name!), but now she was back! Faubourg ran all the way to the river clearing where Celestia's spoor was coming from, but when they got there, there was no one there! Huh? Fau scanned the area methodically, checking the wind and straining their ears, making sure, but still no sign of their silver-pelted friend. Until they spotted a glimmer of translucent gleam. Secretive as always. But here! "Celestia!" They cried out, jumping on the wolf. "What brings you to Morrows?"

AURELIA

~~~~
Aurelia sped down the dirt path through the colorful forest. Genivieve panted behind her. She grinned and patted her pocket to make sure the invention was still there. She slowed down as she entered the village. She waved to one of the silver dragons with a small smile. Aurelia pulled up to a red roofed cottage with daisies and moonflowers in the front. She walked to the door and knocked, Genivieve sitting at her heels. The door cracked open and a small nose sticked out. It sniffed and the door swung open. The small nose belonged to an opossum with tiny glasses in a white lab coat and yellow rain boots. The opossum dug into its left front pocket, took out a Cypher and switched it on.
"Aurelia, darling! How are you? What about you, Genny?" The opossum's shrill voice burst out in a loud endearing tone.
"Wonderful, Shiri, I got here as fast as I could." Aurelia smiled. Genivieve barked.
"I'm so excited!" She yelped. "When is he coming?"
"Oh he'll be coming later, but why don't you two come in for a cup of tea, hm?" Shiri squeaked.
"Am I early?" Aurelia joked.
"No, he's late!" Alice chuckled. She peeked behind them as she closed the door. "I've been worried though," she said thoughtfully, "An odd green dragon has been hanging around my house. Flying around and watching everything I do." She sighed. "Have you seen a green dragon before around here?"
Aurelia thought for a moment. "Not recently." She said finally.
~Celestia~
Celestia lifted her snout to smell the air, hoping to see if Fau was nearby. Then she heard something, and a flash of silvery ice blue and gold pounced onto her. It's them, Celestia thought. Looks like I'll have company after all.
"Celestia!" Fau exclaimed. "What brings you to Morrows?"
"Ah, nothing really, you know," Celestia said calmly. "Just looking for information about a certain someone. Never mind that," she continued. "What have you been up to recently?"
 @CelineBurning Bright, your charrie is cool! Is Fau apart of the dragon guardians? They fit the bill!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~Aurelia~

"Do you know what, I see the green dragon you were talking about earlier outside!" Aurelia looked over at Shiri. "Do you think it's mean?"

"I would say so, that dragon has red eyes. Plus, You can never trust a stranger, much less a red-eyed creature." Shiri clicked her tongue. "Those creatures are enchanted and evil."

Aurelia sipped her tea nervously and looked out the window from time to time during the idle chatter between Genivieve and Shiri. That green dragon was pacing the grass just a meter or two away from the house. She replayed what Shiri had said. She watched it walk closer to the house and finally fly up above the house in a fast flap of it's wings. She stood up and walked over to the door.

"I'm going to go for a short walk outside. I'll be right back." She said and headed out.

The chill air whipped her in the face with a strong gust of wind. Aurelia pulled her cloak closer around her and kicked through a pile of leaves. She searched for the strange lizard among the tree-tops behind the small cottage, but to no avail. It seemed to have just dissapeared...

Yes, they in fact are, as you can see from here...

~Faubourg~

"Well, I was just chasing this rabbit around the woods before I got distracted then caught your scent," Faubourg replied, "but if you mean about my work with the guardians, there's been this weird newcomer green dragon hanging around town recently. Well, really one house in general. Really creepy, unfriendly creature. Glowing red eyes and everything. Not that I mean any offense to anyone with glowing red eyes of course, but these eyes? They're just plain evil! I'm on a team keeping tabs on this dragon, but so far, no leads, except for some conversation about an organization called Giant and a girl named Aurora or something?? Anyways, it was pretty boring, just spying on this dragon all day. What's MORE interesting is this big evil that's supposedly coming to destroy Morrows. There've been rumors of an awakening of an ancient magic that's the reason Morrows is divided into 4 seasons, except now it's returned, but with a goal to destroy everything in Kyngdom, starting with the place its created..."

wow. Fau is coming out totally different from how I pictured them! Interesting... Also, are you guys fine with that evil coming that I just said? I made it a rumor and Fau seems pretty forgetful so I could always take it back if anyone wants or if we just want to focus on the dragon(B.I.G.)/Catastrophe.

I really like the part about the ancient magic! It's fine with the rumor because that can be how things kinda float around, you know what I mean? Information around a smalll village travels pretty fast so... Oh and I did Aurelius in the Nobyls part because, well, he's a Nobyl! And i didn't know which RP I was one and included Aurelia in that too, so... (I like doing "so..." ;P)

~Celestia~

Celestia smiled. "Looks like you've been up to way more important things than me," she said, amusement in her tone. "I guess I should say a little more about what I'm doing, then. I don't have much of a plan, but I'm looking for more information about Catastrophe. You know, what he's up to."

Celestia paused, thinking whether or not she should ask this, but finally making up her mind. Lowering her voice, she asked, "Do you happen to...know anything about his plans?"

(July 22, 2023 - 12:46 pm)

Oh! CATASTROPHE! THAT was his name! Fau thought. And speaking of... the name DID sound a bit familiar.... Where was it from?? Faubourg jumped. "Catastrophe?! Actually, there was a squirrel passing by here a couple of days ago, claimed to know something about someone named Catastrophe and his evil plans... in fact, I think he's still here, living in a tree somewhere in Autumn!"

So, umm... I myself don't know anything about what Catastrophe may be doing bc I'm not entirely sure how he took over and stuff, which is why I said this squirrel, but no one's playing the squirrel so idk how that's gonna work, again, feel free to ignore!

Man, it's sad that The Powers aren't active right now. Cry I wish they were though. Maybe we could bring them back to life, ya know? Can you relate? I just was thinking that it would have been cool to see them in action, and to meet Zephyra and all the characters that were all active in 2016-2020. Wouldn't that be cool? Maybe some one could have visions of Zephyra and Blazing Star and such for wisdom? I don't know, just wishing that these characters were still up and running. :T

this took me too long to write :')

also @Genivieve, I agree, those old characters like Zephyra are pretty cool, but while I'd love to bring them back, I'm not sure they're something we can just bring back, out of respect for the older Kyngdomers and the characters and stories they created. Does that make sense? As for the Powers - we'd have to agree with all the current Kyngdomers in order to do something big like that. Maybe you can start a discussion about it on the KYNGDOM Live Chat! thread, and we can all agree on where we want the story to go. But yeah, I'd love for the Powers to be active again but like I said we'd all have to agree on what's going to happen next :)

um but yeah I'll put Edwin's forms on the Who's Here? thread and I'll post them to this RP thread maybe later.

-Edwin-

Edwin’s sword glinted as it slashed through the foliage, snapping the sticks and sending leaves drifting towards the ground. Some small rodent skittered into up into the tree’s boughs as if offended.

It was too hot. It was summer here in the Morrows, even though the rest of Northwest Kyngdom was experiencing a bitter winter. A mosquito whined in Edwin’s ear, and he swatted it away. The bug only came back more viciously. Sweat had soaked through Edwin's uniform, and his dark hair was sopping. He was covered in mud and bits of plants and dried blood.

If only Edyta could see me now, he thought darkly as he hacked away at some undergrowth that was in his way.

The truth was that he really didn’t want Edyta to see him now. His sister already thought she was better than him, and he didn’t need her to know that he was bushwhacking through the Morrows, having run away when the Resistance attacked his outpost, covered in all sorts of grime.

I’m not a coward, thought Edwin. There was a difference between cowardice and self-preservation, wasn’t there?

Sure, maybe he hadn’t gone back and checked for survivors, but that was only because he was too busy running for his life from the Resistance members who had most likely killed his best friend.

Or maybe not. Jaki was more than capable. Xe could fend for xemself. Xe’d faced worse than a few members of the ragtag Resistance.

It was probably fine.

At least, that’s what Edwin told himself, because the alternative was to give up hope, and Edwin knew better than most people that giving up hope was the same as giving up living.

And Edwin might not be sure of many things, but he was absolutely positive that he wanted to live. No, needed to.

What was the point of surviving everything he had if he was just going to give up now?

No, Edwin was determined to live. So he pushed forward through the hot and humid Morrows, cutting away foliage with his sword, until it became too dark to keep going. He didn’t want to build a fire, because he was afraid the Resistance members who attacked the outpost would see the smoke and come to finish him off.

(Edwin was afraid of many things, and maybe that was why he was so good at surviving.)

Besides, it was summer here, after all, and the nights couldn’t get too cold. Edwin decided to build a small shelter, making the frame from sticks he found lying about and insulating it with the leaves carpeting the forest floor. He identified some fruits and ate them. He made note of the direction the sun set in, and from there figured out what direction he needed to go.

And then he fell into a restless, dreamless sleep.

~Celestia~
"Oh, really?" Celestia said. It seemed like this certain squirrel would be good for information, if they were trustworthy, and if she could find them at all. "I'm sorry, but I must leave now to find that squirrel," Celestia said. "I hope I see you sometime soon, Fau."
She did a quick bow and slunk back into the bushes. Now, where could she find this squirrel? Somewhere in a tree in Autumn, was where Faubourg said. Celestia started to go towards Autumn, but stopped as she heard a noise.
~~~
@Pangolin, I was wondering if there could be some sort of encounter with Edwin and Celestia. Only if you want, of course.
~Faubourg~
Fau was sad that Celestia had left so suddenly, but maybe it was for the best. There was still that cherry pie calling for them anyways! A few minutes later, they were stuffed. But satisfied. Oh, that pie had been so good... then Fau heard a low rustling in the forest. What was that? Ears pricked, Fau crept towards the sound. The susurrus of the leaves in the wind, the twigs cracking under Fau's feet, the birds circling the sky, was ominous somehow. Fau's mind went back to the rumors about the ancient power. But... it couldn't be! Could it? Unease pricking their fur up, Fau crawled closer. And closer. And closer. Until, finally, they couldn't stand the suspense anymore, and pounced! On... nothing? The sound had vanished, along with whatever had been making it. Maybe it had just been Fau's imagination, playing tricks on them? But... no. There was still a faint sense of... wrongness. It was wrong. It was all wrong. Determined to get to the bottom of what was going on, Fau plunged deep into the forest. They had a shift coming up soon, they did have a job, but the guardians could wait. This was far more interesting...
Ok, this is much more what I had in mind for Fau, the side without friends. But... still not entirely. But it's cool!
Moon Wolf, I'd love to have an encounter between them! Sounds very fun to write :)
-Edwin-
Edwin awoke with the sun. In the Summer section of the Morrows, the sun shone brightly in the mornings, piercing through the cracks in Edwin’s make-shift shelter.
Even though he’d been a member of Catastrophe’s army since he was old enough to enlist, he still wasn’t accustomed to waking up early. That was something Jaki had always made fun of him for.
Jaki.
The thought of xem was like a jolt of electricity through Edwin’s body. He dug the heels of his palms into his eyes and tried to push back the tears that threatened to spill.
He stood up, quickly destroyed his shelter, making it look like no one had ever been there, and then set off. After a few hours of walking in what he was pretty sure was the right direction, the din of voices pierced through the trees. He couldn’t make out the words exactly, but he could tell they weren’t anyone from Catastrophe’s army. He quickly dove into a nearby hedge in an attempt to wait until the voices went away.
The rustle his hiding place made was not ideal, but hopefully, whoever those voices belonged to would attribute the rustle to nothing more than the wind.
Hopefully.
